I have a service contract with Cool-Tech and it always pays off! I recently had a weekend failure of my AC system in 90 degree weather and a tech was at my home on Saturday morning within 2 hours of my initial call. I could only give three stars due to the cost. I asked ahead of time for costs and was not told of all standard charges. I found out later I was charged $195.00 for a $65.00 part. Labor for 45 minutes work was 160.00!! Total bill for 45 minutes work was over $300.00. Service was prompt. Service man was efficient. BUT oh, the cost! Asked a friend who referred me and she said her bill was also $300.00 +. I'm wondering if all service calls are that much. If my furnace goes out again, I'll most likely shop around.... read more

Ok so this is a mixed feeling review. I had Cool Tech servicing my HVAC unit for couple of years now (since 2013) and I was very impressed with their techs and customer service until couple of months ago when I needed yet another service to pump more freon into my leaky unit for a quick fix. I typically receive good, honest and professional experience but this last call was not at the same parr as the others. The tech proceeded to estimate the weigh of the freon vs. weighing it. When asked, he stated he had the weight written down in his truck and he will weight it again when done. He wanted to charge me for 3lb and he couldn't not present the start weight or any support to his 3lb guesstimate. Now I should say that their previous techs were outstanding and professional so OK whatever. Right? Forward to now when I finally decided to replace the unit. I tried calling them more than 3 times and I was greeted with "This customer is Not accepting calls at this time" or no answer at all. After the 5 call they answered and was told they can be there after 5pm the same day. Great I said since I am out of commission on my current unit and it is very hot in the house and the faster the better. I got a call that same afternoon saying they can't make it today and they will be here tomorrow. Understandable, Right? Their tech did show the following day and he had to wait for the other company to finish their estimate before he can come in to do his, so I was very appreciative of him waiting his turn. He was an OK salesman and promised to email me his estimate in couple of hours or the 1st thing in the AM. By noon the following day after I didn't receive anything from them, I attempted to call the office 3 times to follow up on the estimate and again was greeted with "This customer is Not accepting calls at this time". Actually the 3rd call was answered by someone appeared as didn't mean or wants to answer because I said Hello and they hung up softly without any reply. It was very clear at this time that this company has gone downhill and does not posses the same qualities they once held. I would rather stay in a 86 degrees house than deal with this company and their poor customer service. The sad thing is that the previous 2 techs I dealt with in the past were great, professional and knowledgable. I went with another company (Cool Air Mechanics) that did the install the following day and I am very pleased. Here it is 2 days later and still no estimate. Nice read more

The workmen were prompt and worked quickly. It's a relief to have a company show up on time when so many don't. They educated us on our unit and cleaned it up. We signed up for the maintenance contract since we know how important it is to maintain your unit if you expect it be operational for ten to 15 years. They didn't pressure us to buy a new unit but did give us all the information for them since my units are 15 years old and I want to switch to dual fuel. I would definitely recommend them for your HVAC issues. read more

This was my first encounter with Cool-Tech and Todd, the service manager, performed a thorough review of our HVAC systems. He quantified his time with every task he performed whether that was testing what turned out to be a bad condenser or cleaning the coils which were caked with dirt. Overall, we were very impressed with our first experience and look forward to working with them. I prefer smaller companies and personal service. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. I was a long time (5 years) customer with Cool-Tech, and that included having an annual service contract on both of my units, and I often referred them to my friends and co-workers. Not anymore. Cool-Tech was not prepared to handle the recent heat wave and the increase in customers needing help. Despite my service contract, when I really needed them, they were not there for me. I had to call back repeatedly to schedule a repair, and then had to wait a week just to get someone to just look at my unit, but not fix it. While trying to set up the repair, which I was told by the tech would be around $1600, the office manager Traci couldn't be bothered with returning my phone calls when promised or providing me a promised actual estimate. When I finally complained directly to the owner, all I got was a rude, angry response to my complaint and a lot of flack about how long and hard is employees are working. Seems like he thinks his failure to prepare for the summer heat is my fault. My response to him was "You're fired." After wasting over 2 weeks with Cool-Tech, I found another company to make the repair the next day, and they did it for $200 less than Cool-Tech would have. Bottom line, there are plenty of good HVAC companies out there that care about your business, who won't be rude, and who won't rip you off. Cool-Tech is not one of them. read more
