I was craving a pizza with chicken and pesto, so I had my husband call in and order that for me at this place because we live right down the street. When we arrived, our pizza was different than we expected. It was the Chicken and Spinach Pesto pizza that came with bacon and additional ingredients that we didn't ask for. I don't eat bacon, so I sent my husband back in to get that corrected for me. It seemed to be a miscommunication, so we kindly asked for just a pizza with chicken and pesto. We handed over our pizza in hopes to get that corrected. No big deal we thought.-- The manager, Andy, let us know that he would not provide a refund because it was our fault because he thought we were talking about the Chicken and Spinach Pesto pizza that was in the menu -- not just a pizza with chicken and pesto like I asked. I asked if I could get what I asked for and he said they don't do custom pizzas, so it's our fault. I saw that there were custom pizzas on the menu, so I felt that wasn't honest. I kindly asked to speak with the manager-- Andy said he was the manager. I felt that this was a misunderstanding that could have been righted. He said it was our faults, and he kept our money and the pizza. We walked away with nothing. I can't believe a manager like Andy wouldn't take the extra steps to make sure that we received honest service-- especially as returning customers. read more

I was working as a Postmates delivery driver and ordered food on a customer's behalf. However, the customer cancelled the order, and I called the restaurant to notify them of the cancellation. Approximately two minutes later, the restaurant manager called back and aggressively asked who's going to pay for the food. I explained that I am a Postmates delivery driver and was ordering for a customer who cancelled. He then asked, "So the customer arbitrarily cancelled the order?" I answered, "Yes." He then rudely hung up the phone without another word. This is not how you treat people in business. I was simply doing my job and did not deserve to be treated in such a way. I have not eaten at Cooley's Pizza in 15 years, but after the way I was treated as a delivery driver, I would not eat here again. read more

I will NEVER order from Cooley's again! Ordered last night and the guy on the phone was incredibly nice. I felt very happy about ordering with them after that. I get there to pick up the pizza and the guy at the counter was again, very nice (I'm guessing it's the same guy who took my order). BUT it's time to pay and all I had was a $100 dollar bill. So the young man taking the payment turns and asks the older guy in the back if they accept $100's. The older guy in the back unashamedly rolled his eyes right in front of me, and sighed, and said "hang on" in a very irritated tone. He then proceeded to take his sweet time finishing what he's doing, washing his hands and walked out to the counter. Two things wrong with this.... a) if you don't accept $100's, tell me. Talk to me. Communicate that and we will work out alternative payment. Don't give me attitude. You're not doing me a favor, I'm a paying costumer. b) if you are gonna come out there, don't be rude and openly disrespect me by rolling your eyes and taking your sweet ass time to handle my money. I work just as hard as you to have that money to buy that pizza. Don't think you're teaching me a lesson by taking your time. All your doing by that is wasting my time and ensuring your boss has just lost a costumer and hopefully many more potential customers, as I hope they read this review. Best for last. So the older guy takes the $100. Doesn't check to see if it's real. Doesn't go to the back to get change. Just takes it. So at this point I'm failing to see the reason why he was upset I paid with it. Now, instead of just giving me the $85 change I would have received after payment, he hands me five $20's and then walks away so the younger guy can take my payment. Now I put thought into this. Why would he give me that and walk away, just for me to have to pay again? Oh, it's because he's again openly trying to show me that what he preferred I paid in was a smaller bill. Like a $20. I am totally understanding that a lot of establishments don't accept $100 dollar bills. If I had a smaller note, I would've given it to you. Trust me. I felt bad, that's why I asked the young guy "do you accept $100's?" as I handed him the money. So he turned and asked the older guy. All that man had to say was "no ma'am, we do not." This place is about 10 minutes from my home & the only place that my daughter wants pizza from. The owner is very inviting and because we are such regulars when ordering, as soon as I call in, my order is confirmed before I can even say it. Lol! We had a group of 50 people over our house a couple of weeks ago and Cooley's did a great job providing just the right amount of pizza and salad. Everyone raved about the quality and taste of the pizza and the salads were so fresh they were a hit with our guests. Have ordered from here so many times. Even before they moved. Today I ordered for delivery at 611. Order didn't come until 740. This only happened after my husband called to check on the order. This is the best pizza you will ever eat! You can call ahead for pick-up, walk-in, order on-line (for a discount). They remember you. They know what pizza you like. Terrible customer service! They don't stand behind their product or make good on their mistakes. When I went by the store with poor product in hand (wings) to express my dissatisfaction, I was told BY THE OWNER that they don't know what's going on but the wings are really small and I didn't even get an apology! He was very rude and didn't offer to make amends for their poor quality product. I see that other customers have encountered this same rudeness when offering a complaint. TOO BAD, it's decent pizza. Visited Cooley's Pizza to pick up dinner for the family last night. Greeted at front by the owner, Andy (super nice guy) and asked for recommendations. Based on his suggestion I ordered the Hoyt's Firebird for myself and a cheese for the kids. The pizza was prepared quickly and I was on my way. The food was awesome! Once my kids devoured their pizza they helped me finish off mine. The Firebird was unique and one of the best pizzas I have every had. I'd like to be able to review the pizza but I can't even order one. I received a set of coupons by direct mail and thought I'd try the pizza. After spending ten minutes in an endless loop on their horrible website I gave up and called the store. They said my subdivision wasn't in their system even though it's less than a mile away. Then they said they were out of extra large pizzas even though they're supposed to be hand tossed. Hand tossed where and when? Would not recommend this place to anyone. Terrible customer service given by the entire staff, including the owner Andy! My husband stopped in to pick up our order and as the young man was bagging the food up, the bag ripped and our salad fell on the floor. Instead of immediately replacing the salad he proceeded to put the salad in a new bag with the rest of our food. When asked by my husband if the salad fell on the floor the young man lied and stated that it had not. At this point my husband requested that they give us a new salad and that we would keep the rest of the food. It was at this point the owner Andy came from the back and very rudely snatched the bag of food and asked my husband in his words "do you want your money back or what?" My husband again explained that we would be keeping the pizza and that he would just prefer a new salad seeing that the prior one had just fell on the floor. The owner at this time stormed to the back and completed the order. With the situation not settling well with me after my husband returned home, I called personally to speak with the owner. I was immediately hung up on and had to call back several times before they would answer the phone again. After finally having my call answered, I requested to speak with the owner. At that time I proceeded to explain that we have been customers for a very long time and the way he behaved was completely inappropriate. He proceeded to tell me that he "can't stand when people like us do things like that." At this point, I truly could not believe I was speaking to the owner of this establishment. He was extremely rude, unapologetic for the situation that happed, condescending and had a total lack of respect us as customers. The food is adequate (pizza's a little dry) and fairly good salads but their customer service sucks especially if you're trying to get a delivery. Based on my experiences with them they would be better served to stick with carry-out.
