We were very unhappy with our use of mobile attic. We used them for storage for the last four…read moremonths and we definitely wish we would have spent the extra few dollars a month to use PODS in order to store our belongings in a climate controlled inside unit. While unloading our belongings, we found two mice and many of our belongings were ruined. We had to go buy new beds, towels, anything with yarn or soft materials. Anything that was not ruined had acorns, urine, and feces all over it and in the boxes from where the mice had been in them. When we reached out to mobile attic, they said because we did not purchase the"premium" package that they were not responsible and at NO point were we told anything about a premium plan. They said we could send in some pictures and the manager would take a look and consider helping us out but that email was sent 6 days ago and still no response to my email. They also do not offer any insurance which should have been a red flag to not use them.

Staff members prior to the move were very efficient, and easy to work with. Chris was absolutely patient, and very accommodating in scheduling and rescheduling due to changes in the unit I was being relocated too. The day of the move, a Penske truck pulled up with more than enough ample space to move me, it was actually to big. One man jumped out of the passenger side. I asked him if he wanted me to move my car as I was holding two parking spaces, and he said not a single word. He looked me dead on in the eye and did not reply...weird. The driver jumped out, came around and introduced himself followed by another guy, and additional introductions were made. All went well...or so I thought. The guys wrapped everything carefully which made me feel more at ease. They only had large items to relocate since we had already moved lighter items the day before. The guys set up everything moved into the new unit, and the driver (nicer one), even reconnected my washer and dryer. This was not done by them a few years ago. I was advised they could not do it at that time, so I was a happy camper having this service available to me. I noticed after they left that all of my dresser drawers were off track...a small thing considering that was the only thing I had to correct. Anyhow while taking out the dresser drawers, I noticed a metal rod looking thing stuffed inside one of the dressers with clothes. I didn't know what it was for. I thought maybe it was placed by the moving company on accident. Upon further inspection while putting the drawers back on track my daughter in law and I noticed that they broke a part that is bolted into the dresser for the actual drawer to go on track. The metal portion that they broke off entirely from the drawer, we compared to the other drawers, I only know to describe as the track a train would maneuver on, without it....the train would not be on track. We figured a way to put the metal rod that runs along the bottom portion of the drawer back so that we could get the drawer on track. We were able to successfully do so, but because they also broke the portion that is bolted into the dresser, it's wobbly. The only way to break the rod off and portion bolted inside of the actual dresser is to attempt to remove it several times by force..... I didn't make a huge deal because the dresser isn't falling out entirely when opened, but what bothered me was the fact that they KNOWINGLY broke it, stuffed the broken off rod in the drawer and said ABSOLUTELY nothing. I was in each unit during the move and feel that they should have told me or told the company. As I stated my crew that moved me before a few years ago was fanatical, not sure what occurred with this crew, and the fact that my dresser drawer was broken and clearly acknowledged by the rod left in the drawer which came off of the bottom, and not communicated to me was not a professional thing to do. UPDATE: I increased this review by 2 stars because the owner reached out to me personally to apologize and offer reconciliation by having someone to come out to take a look, tighten up the dresser track, along with a refund amount, and a credit towards a future move. I received a feedback email from them, replied and was contacted within ten minutes by one of the company owners. That is excellent service, and this was closed knowing that the company values their customers.

One thing I especially appreciated was that the owner came to our home beforehand to assess the job and provide a flat-rate quote. We agreed on a set price, so there were no surprise charges--even if the move had taken longer than expected (which it didn't). Their rate represented an excellent value and was comparable to the quotes we received elsewhere. The difference was the personal touch. Rather than relying on a blind internet estimate, we met with the owner in person, walked through the move together, and knew exactly what to expect. That level of communication and transparency gave us confidence from day one. The movers worked hard from start to finish and went above and beyond to make sure every item was placed exactly where we wanted it. Their attention to detail, positive attitude, and willingness to accommodate our requests made the entire process stress-free. They also offer packing and furniture disassembly/reassembly services, although we did not need those services for our move. Gregory did not make notes when we met on moving day about what was or was not coming, didn't mark the items to be moved, and didn't review with me before departure. He blamed me for these issues. When I asked about the items we were missing, Gregory was visibly upset. He argued that I had not told him to bring these things. My BED, for one. When I began unpacking I noticed more items missing. I had to drive back to my former home and pick up the things Gregory left. Still, things were missing. After trying to speak with Gregory, who proceeded to yell at me, tell me it was my fault, and not listen to a word I said, I reached out to the helper who had been with him that day. I was told, to my great dismay, that Gregory told the helper to load some of my items back on the truck before departure. When they got back to Charleston, those items were tossed into a dumpster. My grandmother's chairs went to a landfill because this young man didn't like being called out for his mistakes. I'm heartbroken about losing my property, and shocked that someone would do something so petty, unprofessional, and cruel. The 5 star reviews he got are questionable. AVOID THIS COMPANY. They are unethical, to say the least. Shame on Gregory Vandross.

Unfortunately, we rented a 5'x8' NON-climate controlled unit for 6 months, from a different storage company on Old Trolly Road in Summerville. At first, their deal sounded great, and the price seemed OK. The initial CSR who set us up told us that we were obligated to buy their $11/month insurance. Not true. We were not accurately informed or given the choice to waive that fee, and use our valid Renters Insurance policy we already had. They would not credit us the $66. They also made a huge mistake in that they flagged our account as a non-payment, almost resulting in our unit items being auctioned off!! Our payments were 100% in good standing. Even with their military discount, they charged is $69/month. I did some research, and we decided to go with main road storage in Summerville because of the positive experience we had had at the Johns Island store when we needed to rent a trailer. The Summerville location has awesome prices, outstanding customer service, super clean and secure facilities, and more than competent CSR's. We inquired about a special, and took advantage of that, plus our unit is bigger and climate-controlled and we'll save $20/month!! They are an excellent choice for U-Haul rentals as well. Vehicles are well-maintained and clean. Check in and check out processes are a breeze. Main Road Storage on Johns Island is also highly recommend!

I'm writing this review knowing this is a fairly new business to the area. I went on the last…read moreweekend of July 2023. My mission was to clear out a storage unit & pick up a Uhaul at this location. I went in from NY so i decided to fly in & Uber to the facility. Two negative things happened; my Uhaul reservation wasn't ready and I had the wrong combination code. At this time it was around 1pm and they closed at 5pm so i was running short on time. It was a very busy day for the staff from what i could see so it was hard for them to help me right away. Ultimately we all figured things out as a team and they were able to get me into another Uhaul rental for the same price. A bigger one! They then helped me cut the lock to the unit and had all the equipment available for me to load everything into the truck w no major issues. The manager even took me around the facility on his brand new golf cart which i thought was pretty cool! After i finished up i went to say bye to the team for all their help dealing w. the scenario I was in. They gave me a few water bottles for my long drive to FL and ultimately were happy to see me succeed. I would recommend this facility mainly for the great service & patience they provided me with.
