I brought my…read morecar here in good faith, trusting this company to diagnose and fix an issue on a vehicle that was fully drivable when I dropped it off. While they attempted to make repairs, they instead damaged another part of my vehicle, leaving it in worse condition than when I arrived. What should have been a straightforward repair turned into an incredibly stressful experience. I was left dealing with new problems that did not exist before, wasted time, unnecessary anxiety, and the burden of figuring out how to fix damage they caused. No accountability, no proper resolution--just excuses. A mechanic's job is to repair vehicles, not create additional problems for customers who trusted them. This experience has caused significant stress and disruption, and I would never bring my car back here again. Because of how this situation was handled, I will be filing formal complaints and taking further action, including: * Chicago Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (BACP) * Illinois Attorney General - Consumer Protection Division * Better Business Bureau (BBB) * A civil lawsuit to recover damages caused by their negligence Future customers deserve to know what kind of operation this is before trusting them with their vehicle. Learn from my mistake and take your business elsewhere.

When confronted with screenshots, Wayne stated multiple times that it was not him [personally] and he did not care. Never getting my funds or service again. Trash. I encourage you all to use an AirTag or other tracking device to see for yourselves. Be best.

I hate to leave such a poor review because I really like Wayne. I have been a customer 10+ years…read morebut I'll never go back. Last time I got my brake pads replaced. After Driving off my dash lights up like a christmas tree. Check Abs, check brakes, power steering, plus a few others. All these lights came on at the same time. This had NEVER happened before and just so happened to start RIGHT after they did the work. I brought it back immediately. Wayne's guy in the garage proceeds to gaslight me and say these lights have NOTHING to do with the work that they did and that it was a computer issue. Lies. These lights have lit up my dash for months. They come and go. Another mechanic verified that this was the result of poor work when changing my brakes and now it is really expensive to fix. And now that the sensor for my abs is messed up, getting other work done on my car triggers more related sensors. Now tmps is going nuts as well. My car had ZERO computer issues and ZERO abs issues before theh did my brakes this last time. They should be responsible for these repairs! But they proved to be dishonest! If you make a mistake, OWN UP TO IT! I can respect that and have been loyal for years. Wayne is great but the guys in the garage really screwed me this time and tried to make it seem like they didn't. For this I will NEVER patronize them again and don't recommend that anyone else do.

Your support trust confidence and friendship over the years were truly remarkable. I would like to feel anybody whoever dealt with us knew we were always honest and always did our best and most of the reviews in fact all of the reviews show this except for the one left by Tamika. Even though we ended up closing the business six months ago after being taxed out I really feel the need to respond to this review. The car was brought in for brakes by I believe Tamika's mother who is a very nice lady and appreciated the great price and the honesty. She did call back either later that same day or the next morning and asked about a noise. She described the noise I explained where they are metallic pads with new rotors there is a break in period and the noise should go away. I received a call the next day confirming the noise did go away I said thank you for the call and letting me know have a great day. Weeks later the car was towed in out of the five studs on the wheel one was broken off the other four were fine. As stated in a review it was driven for over two weeks and at least 500 miles. I looked at the rim the rim was perfect. Anyone who's ever driven on a loose wheel even for a few blocks because you would not make it much further than that Would know that the rim would be trashed because the lug nut holes would be rounded out. After almost 50 years of experience you can deduct what happened was while the vehicle was parked somebody tried to steal the tire they took the four lug nuts off and the only one they could not get off with the wheel lock. The stress of one stud and lug nut holding the tire on is what cracked that last off. It was totally impossible to go over two weeks and 500 miles on a loose wheel and not destroy the rim. I pointed that out and in good faith I put the car in the rack pull the hub bearing assembly pressed out and pressed in all five studs in case the other four might've caused any type of stress cracks reassembled it and went to Honda and bought a new wheel set for about $80 so all four locking lugs would match. I did that because I always enjoy dealing with the mother and it's a way to just make sure everybody stays happy. The job took about four hours cost me over $100 in parts including the 4 lug nuts sitting on the curb where it was parked No big deal things even out but what really bothered me was slamming me on reviews For something that if you ask any mechanic certified or not if you drove 500+ miles and or two weeks on a loose tire how long would it stay on and how bad would the rim look . Again we are officially closed thank you again for all the support through the years just felt the need to explain their review.

About a year later,…read moreI started experiencing symptoms similar to what I had before the original work, and I'll be honest, I was fully prepared for a difficult conversation. Anyone who's ever taken their car to a new shop knows that uneasy feeling of not knowing what kind of integrity or accountability you're going to get. What happened next completely changed my opinion of what an auto repair shop can be. City Tire & Auto Repair handled the situation with professionalism, honesty, and a level of integrity that honestly exceeded my expectations. There was no argument, no runaround, no excuses. Instead, they stood behind their work and showed a genuine commitment to doing the right thing for their customer. Their dedication to the quality of their work and the excellence of their service is real, not just something they say. You can tell they care about their reputation and, more importantly, about the people who trust them with their vehicles. It's rare to find a shop where you feel confident walking in and even rarer to find one that earns your loyalty after a tough situation. These guys did exactly that. City Tire & Auto Repair will be my shop from now on, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for honest, dependable, high-quality automotive service. If you're nervous about trying a new mechanic, this is the place that restores your faith.
