So then she finishes with the other customer and we come in and she ask that our 2 year old has a mask in at all times how do u expect for a 2 yr old to keep it on at all times during a haircut and stay still at the same time while getting a haircut . Came here today for a hair cut for my son who has sensory processing disorder and was very thankful to have Dardie as our stylist. My son can be shy around new people and it's stressful for him & I when it's time for a hair cut which is about every three weeks. She was extremely patient and Kind making him feel very comfortable. I will be back here again for his haircut needs. Just took my toddler to Cool Cuts 4 Kids. I honestly wasn't expecting much, since my toddler has aberration to anything grooming. I would've been happy with any trimming, since I've been cutting he's hair, wile wrestling him. However the lady that helped us today was very patient, helpful, compassionate and understanding. She did an AMAZING job, and super fast. My son has never had a professional hair cut before, and now he looks so nice. This place doesn't even deserve the one star that I gave them. These so call pretend to be hair dressers just like to rob your money over crappy hair cuts. My son never acts up during hair cuts but obviously he doesn't like her because she doesn't know how to deal with kids. She gave him a dog bites hair cut and refused to fix it because their next appointment was there. My son's hair cut looked worst before going in there! We have a 6 month old baby and have had to get his hair cut two times now. First time we went in was ok by the second time. I am traumatized ... he has Holes in his hair all around it you can see his scalp (and he has super thick hair) one side is cut to his scalp and the other side was left long it was an absolutely terrible cut and I didn't wanna say anything because I didn't want her to make it worse I will no returning she didn't even seem to care she just cut it like she wasn't even looking just no. I took my son here for his first hair cut. Andrew's has had a few hair stylists from this place and each time we've diverted from Theresa, both my son and I have not been happy. ALWAYS ask for Theresa, she is warm, friendly, makes your kid feel comfortable and she gives great hair cuts QUICKLY which is muy importanto when you have a little one squirming in the chair. It helps that they have videos and video games to entertain the kids and if your child is a toddler, they have cool car seats for them to seat in. Save some time by calling ahead and booking an appointment. I usually book my son's appointment ahead of time (asking for Theresa OF COURSE- she's works 2 days a week now) then it's hassle free. You can be in and out of there with a haircut for your child in about 30 mins and you all know, that's priceless!!! read more

I don't know how this location is still in business. We've brought our kids here on several occasions because there aren't any kid friendly haircut places near us. Every encounter, from the initial scheduling phone call to the actual haircut has been disappointing. The staff here are so unfriendly and unhelpful which is ridiculous when you work with kids. Today we were a half hour late because supposedly we wrote the appointment time down wrong. The lady was so rude about it. I made an appointment with Cookie Cutters which is even farther from our house but already I can tell it's going to be a better experience because they were so friendly on the phone and sent me a text message to confirm the appointment so I know exactly when it is, what a novel concept. Went in with my daughter and asked for just a small trim of the ends, less than an inch. She ended up cutting off several inches and used the excuse that her hair was previously cut unevenly and she needed to even it out. She has only ever had her hair cut here! So it was them that did it! The last time my husband took her and I was mad at how much was cut then too but I see now that it was their fault and not his. Went in on a Sunday around 11:15 to get a haircut. They were busy, but not packed. Nobody was at the front desk. Stood there for 5 minutes (I timed it on my phone) and nobody said a word to us. As a former happy customer of Lollilocks at Desert Ridge (which sadly closed), we decided to come here for my 4 year old daughter's haircut. I was very unimpressed with the atmosphere, cleanliness, and employees. The older woman that cut my daughter's hair barely talked to her, other than to ask her what video she wanted to watch. I feel that if you're going to cut kid's hair for a living, you should be a person who's good with children. She then proceeded to spend the next 10 minutes trying to sell me hair products. I finally just walked away after trying politely in vain to let her know I wasn't interested in buying anything other than the haircut. The place seemed like it was in need of a remodel, didn't look particularly clean, and the full court press on the hair products was a complete turn-off. You see last November we had his first hair cut done there, and then we left town for a couple weeks, where we noticed that it was grossly uneven in the front (it was nearly an inch longer on one side of his forehead) We hadn't noticed because we nearly always do his hair in a style that had hidden the mistake. when we returned home, I called the location that I had taken him to, only to be told that because it was over 1 week since the cut that I would have to PAY for another cut!!! Don't think I will go to this location again. Daughters hair hasn't grown much more than a pixie cut the last three years so her cut is a simple trim in hopes to stimulate growth. Any how , the hair cut was fine , but the cleanliness of the brush and scissors used is questionable . Right after the wash she brush my daughter hair and all this dander came off the brush . Not good for long hair. Probably fine for a boys cut with clippers. I realize that this isn't a fancy salon, the ladies were very nice and made my girls feel comfortable but the cuts are choppy uneven and look like I did it. The lady that cut my oldest daughters hair barely got it wet and then took dull scissor to it, straight across. The ends were frayed uneven and horrible. The manager was nice enough to "fix" it but it is still bad. Thank goodness she is 5 and isn't aware. The picture blow is after the "fix". From the outside it looked a little foo foo for a boy, but he was starting to look like a girl so I was desperate. We did not have an appointment, but we got right in. Nancy helped us and made my son feel right at home after helping us pick out a Thomas the Tank Engine video to watch. She let him hold the (non-sharp) end of the clippers and tickle himself with it, so he understood there was nothing to be scared of, along with letting him explore a few other instruments and making him feel more comfortable. Other than a hand wave pointing out that the products were on sale, I did not get hassled about buying any items. The price is reasonable, and I signed up for coupons online. Considering we had to pay for the gentleman who got his hair cut in the chair next to my son at the barbershop because he (my son, not the gentleman) was having such a terror-filled temper tantrum the last time we tried that, this ended up to be much more affordable. Pros: Staff is nice. There are movies to watch and games to play. It is great for distracting kids. Cons: It is pricey. You pay for the movies and games and not the service. I paid to have my daughters hair dried and they left it wet. They used the blow dryer for a minute and then dried it a little more using their fingers. She told me it it more of a finger dry. Maybe they shouldn't charge for a blow dry if that's not what it is. I also had two employees pushing products at me. I have had positive (OK) experiences in the past although the haircuts are overpriced and cleanliness is at times questionable. I just called to make an appointment for tomorrow and cannot believe how rude the person was that answered. Typically they would schedule you with the person who had cut the hair in the past. This time, I tried to give my last name, he said, "I don't need that" so obviously they don't follow that procedure anymore which also means there is no looking at the notes. This place was horrible, the manager Maryam Salehi did a very poor job at cutting my grandson hair, she did not know how to trim, style his hair. And her customer service was bad, like literally bad! Less than impressed! We usually go to the Cool Cuts at 7th Street and Bell, but this one occasion, the location on Cactus was more convenient. We won't be back! The lady cutting my boys hair was very interested in selling hair products to another customer who came in AFTER she started our cut, even tho there was another stylist there, sitting in the back. After 5-10 minutes she came back, but was very impatient. "Sit up, don't move, tilt your head".....all reasonable requests if done in a polite manner, and IF he was moving around, which he was NOT. She did not seem a very kid-friendly person, despite working in a kids only shop. The place seemed rather grimy too. :( Interestingly enough, we have only had great experiences at the 7th Street location. Friendly and polite, and a very clean shop. I went with my 2 year old son for his haircut.We checked in and waiting for our turn.My son wanted to go out and play so my husband took him out of shop and they were right outside the shop adjacent to this salon.When salon lady called out my son's name, i opened the door and peeped out to call him.It took less than 2 min for my son and husband to arrive by the time she called his name.When i reached the counter she said i missed my turn and had to wait.She said 'you were not able to find your son'.I told her 'i am standing in front of you with my son within 2 min of calling our names.But she refused and started attending the lady who checked in after me. I was surprised and just thinking what happened. Meanwhile, the lady whom salon lady was attending said to salon lady that it is ok, she can wait and offered us to get our chance back. Salon lady said to her 'Ok, if you wish to loose ur turn, i will attend them." As salon lady started attending us, that other lady started walking out of door, she was leaving, may be she did not wanted to wait for her turn or getting late or whatever. Salon lady simply stopped attending my son and stopped her by the gate and said, you both decide among yourselves whom should i attend? Now obviously, it was my turn but salon lady kept on saying to other lady that "why are you missing your turn for them?" and in response that other lady changed her mind and said "Ok, you cut my daughter's hair first" and then salon lady started attending her and asked us to wait. This Salon lady do not know how to manage customer. Why was she asking customer's to decide whose turn comes first. Isn't it clear that whoever checked in should get their turn in order.She is rude. And i still don't understand why she did not attended us in-spite of being our turn.She did not mind me walking out of her salon but she did not want that other lady to walk out.I am not going to that salon again.I felt insulted and discriminated. read more
