They are very knowledgable and care about the cats and kittens they foster to no end. They are committed to finding them great homes, even if this means they must stay at a foster's home for several months. In May I adopted a 3 year old seal point male. He had been homeless prior and was underweight, flee and worm infested. The foster who was caring for him was wonderful and extremely knowledgable. She assisted me he choosing him after I explained to her what type of cat I was looking for. Several months later she is still available to support and provide advice as well as share photos with! Now I can't imagine my life without new furry friend, Gio. He is the perrrrrfect cat for me! About a month ago I decided that it might be nice for Gio to have a friend, and again Pacific Siamese Rescue helped me choose a perfect little playmate for him. Just yesterday I adopted my second seal point, this time a female, Lu Lu. When I went to meet her, her foster mom, Diana, sat with me for over an hour while we played with the cats and talked. She explained to me in detail how to best integrate the new cat and answered all my questions. She was more than gracious, giving me several of Lu Lu's toys as well as some of the wet and dry food that she had been eating, so that her transition would go a smooth as possible. Gio and I love our new addition already. Somehow the wonderful people at Pacific Siamese Rescue knew that Lu Lu would be a great fit! I love having these 2 wonderful and loving animals in my life! I am sooo greatful to Pacific Siamese Rescue for doing such great work matching the wonderful animals they foster with such caring homes!

It was a great way for our 11 year old to prove she was responsible and ready to have her own kitten. The kittens needed some extra care in the beginning, but the shelter provided everything and summer break allowed extra time to care and cuddle the 4 sisters. It also brought our family closer together as we all happily chipped in to help. The shelter was very busy (lots of kitties needing care) so we had them a little longer than expected, but we were in tears when we had to say goodbye. Except, we did end up keeping not one, but 2 of them! It was great being able to pick the 2 that were the best fit for our family- fostering allowed us lots of time to learn their personalities. The other 2 adorable kittens were quickly adopted at the shelter's well-organized pet adoption event by the same family. We are so happy the kittens all have a sister to play with. 2 was the way to go! If you are thinking of fostering, do it! It is an awesome experience you should do at least once if your life to give back. Such an amazing feeling to save their lives- because that is what you are doing!

I first called to get more information, and I was provided with a detailed summary of a doggy day out. We drove down the next day and thought we missed out on the dog we wanted. But the woman at the front told me to sign in anyways, and I am so thankful we did! We were able to meet her, bring our kids in to meet her, and made the easy decision to bring her home. Not only did they take the time to do another quick check up, the gentleman who helped us found a collar, leash, and 2 toys for our new baby to share with our other dog. We also received a certificate for a free first vet appt, which allowed us to get her treatment for her runny nose. All in all, I will be happy to go back for our next rescue! And would recommend this shelter for anyone looking for a new friend.

More a learning "zoo" rather than a petting zoo as it was explained to us…read more On many visits we have fed grass to the chickens and geese through the fence but this time my friend brought some cut up apples and carrots AND we were lucky enough to catch them open. The young lady shared soooo much knowledge about the rabbits, goat, donkey, and much more. It was great to hear that the donkey is not just a donkey but we were educated an the breed's origin and many more facts that we never thought about. She also commended us on bringing healthy treats for the animals not bread and such, these are not good for them. There was also some cut fruit and vegetables for the patrons to feed the animals. Funded mostly by Parks and Rec, donations are welcomed and they do offer eggs for a donation of your choice. Located inside Hagan Park with plenty of parking. Hit and miss hours, if you're lucky enough to be in the park while it's open, it's worth stopping in for kids and adults.

Carrie, the woman who runs the organization, has a HUGE heart and spends an enormous amount of time rescuing threatened cats and dogs, getting them healthy and well-behaved (although, to be honest, most of them are already very healthy and well-trained by the time they get to SIAR), and finding them permanent loving homes. After losing our Bernese Mountain Dog to cancer two years earlier, we were ready to embark on…read morebringing home another "big" dog into our homes and hearts. We had applied with multiple rescues across Sacramento, but many were non-respondent or had old legacy listings for dogs that were no longer available. When we saw "Fuggle" pop up on AdoptAPet.com one morning, I knew I had to put in an application for our family, despite feeling hopeless that it would not go anywhere. The application was quite thorough, but was quite similar to those we'd filled out for our Berner. I received an auto-reply stating they would reach back within a week, and lo and behold 7 days later, I received the happiest news and sweetest email, "I am happy to tell you that we have selected you for my favorite puppy! He really is the cutest.  What is your schedule like? I am hoping to do homechecks this week and then have the puppies picked up from the adoption event this weekend.  Just to make it easier for us to get it done :)" We quickly got in touch for a homecheck after work one day, were officially approved and were able to take "Fuggle" home just 13 days after submitting our application. The adoption process was so incredibly smooth and easy, and everyone at Recycled Pets was incredibly nice and professional, from the home visit, to the foster parents, to the adoption day. We've since attended a puppy reunion with his litter, and have joined a wonderful online community that celebrates everyone's extra-special love for their Recycled Pet. I'm so happy that Recycled Pets helped us find "Fuggle" but just as happy that we have such a caring and loving rescue organization here in Sacramento.
