I called the company and told them and the owner came out the same day and worked into the eveningHe had to go back into the attic which I'm sure felt like a steam bath. The motor had seized up. He took it off and went to get another, then went up to the attic-(steam bath) and replaced it. within minutes we had cold air flowing. Everyone that I dealt with was kind and considerate. Before they did anything he told me what he thought and how much it would cost and asked for permission to continue. We have used Hurst and only Hurst for many years for maintenance and repair work on our H & A unit…read more Due to the quality of work they provide, and with minimal expense on our part, we were able to get 20+ years out of our unit. One of the things you can count on is that they don't try to upsale when you have a repair issue. If the problem can be corrected with a $20 part plus the service call, then that's exactly what is offered, and the repair sticks. We decided to replace the unit along with the duct work, and they are finishing up this morning. Dusty and Anthony have done a superior job. They have been prompt, professional, courteous and polite. They were patient and willing to answer any questions that I had - and I asked quite a few, lol. This is what you get with every person that works there. Jeff should be the standard that all service industry business owners model themselves after. To sum it all up - if you want prompt, reliable, and superior service from people who know what they're doing, that stand by their work, and are affordable to top it off, then Hurst is the only place to call.

Honest A/C was very highly rated. Tony did not disappoint. All the reviews were very accurate. He was a little later than he had said he would be but called to keep me updated. When he arrived, he encouraged me to be there while he looked things over and took the time to explain what he was looking for each step of the way. He discovered a small leak in a relief valve, repaired it and topped off the refrigerant. The unit is now cooling properly. The price was very fair and he was only interested in fixing the problem not upselling me parts or services I don't want or need. We will definitely be using Honest A/C again and recommending them to others.

Evan and his team are unprofessional and unresponsive. This company is owned by someone who lies…read moreand does not communicate. Take your business elsewhere. I first met Evan in November of 2022, when we discussed repair of a gas fireplace, which he claimed would be fixed by ordering a special remote from the company. When I questioned if it could be any other issue, he stated that it could be the starter, but if it was that problem, the fix is cheap and he would cover the cost. Remote was due to be delivered in December. I never heard from Evan. Since then, I have called Shield Services and spoke to his receptionist on several occasions. I have been told multiple times Evan would be calling me, but he never did. The receptionist gave me a lot of excuses. First the remote was "out for delivery". I waited a week, then it was, "I'll have Evan call you". Waited again, no one reached out. I confirmed my contact information multiple times. Multiple calls and unanswered messages. Then I got in contact with the receptionist again who told me it was on backorder. How something can go from "out to delivery" to "on back order" makes no sense to me. I have heard about half a dozen excuses. If you are looking for more red flags, note that this business does not have an address (something I learned when I was filing with better business bureau). Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. Shield Services is unprofessional, unreliable, and does not follow-through on promises.

They were unsure which unit needed troubleshooting and did not bother to call for clarification. They went on site on Friday, and by Wednesday we still had no proper updates. They repeatedly told us they would submit a repair quote, only to finally admit--after 5 days--that they did not know what needed to be done because they were unsure which unit required service. This wasted 5 days of my time! When we asked to speak with the "owner," who was the one performing the assessment at the time, we were told, "You can't speak with him because he's busy working." We were also working and needed this issue handled promptly. If communication and follow-up cannot be provided because you are too busy "working," then that reflects very poorly on your business practices. The lack of accountability and honesty was extremely frustrating. :) And for future reference, the operator should never raise her voice at a customer. Professionalism and proper customer service should always be maintained. I was the one dealing with the issue and the unnecessary delay, so that response was completely inappropriate. I strongly recommend additional customer service training for her.
