The service was excellent. You can tell they have a higher level of professionalism. They served some bread with one of the best butters I have tried. I guiltily finished off the complementary bread and asked for more. They have an extensive list of wines, beers, and spirits. The server recommended Jungle Joy by the Brussels Beer Project. It was great! Of course I got the Tomahawk to share. Then I also split a lunch set menu, which came with salad and mussels. The salad was very refreshing and tasty. The mussels was such a large portion and tasted very fresh. It came with fries, which I loved! The kitchen cut our steak for us and served us salad on separate plates. That was very helpful! This lunch for two cost 81 euros without tip and tax. You wouldn't find this gem of a restaurant with this level of service and quality of food in Los Angeles.

The best bonus is the omelette station or eggs made to order. Those were so good and customizable. They also had some waffle irons. Large refrigerated cases faced the street with a variety of fresh fish, shellfish and premade seafood items. In the back the kitchen and food prep were visible and completed restaurant or to go orders were queued at its own counter (though staff would drop off at your table). Prices were quite reasonable comparing them to other restaurants in the more touristy streets. Also the cashier was very friendly with both locals and visitors. My favorite was the razor clams followed by the mussels and fish soup. Each was nicely seasoned and good size/ meaty for the shellfish. A separate bowl was also provided to hold all the empty shells. The WCs were located down a spiral staircase in the rear of the restaurant and was tiny. Overall a great start to my eating in Brussels.

I loved them both, but since I was not sure I would ever get to try the Dutch style in my life-time and despite it being a bucket list food, I was so enormously grateful. Even more grateful because it tasted amazing. I plowed through more than one I must admit. I might never get to try it again so I had to get more than one. Don't judge me. LOL. Anyway, the lady that helped me once I had one of the pickled and one of the cured ones was very patient and very kind. She seemed genuinely interested in what I thought and listened to me as I gushed like a fan boy over their products. I will never forget that and I was very appreciative. The place is pretty close to central, downtown Brussels and it was nice to just go to a table out in a courtyard and enjoy one of the favorite things I had on that trip. It was awesome.

I am not a waterzooi expert but I really liked it. I will continue to search for different recipes to compare but this dish was VERY light, full of chicken with veggies and mild flavor. Needed some salt but I loved it was so light yet satisfying. The staff was friendly and attentive. Our server acknowledged us right away and hot us drinks. The food came out quickly- although it was 14:00 in a Monday- so was not very busy. Inside was like a quaint French cafe even tho in Brussels. We also got a small salad and the vinaigrette was light and tasty. They also bring bread to table- good for soaking up delicious broth. Loved it. Would def come back to try other dishes. Another good sign was there were mostly locals there- good sign!!

On first impression, it seemed quite busy. I'm not sure if it's always super busy, but the servers seemed very busy & overwhelmed with amount of tasks that they had to fulfill. It didn't really affect me, but just something I noticed. What disappointed & affected me the most however was the mussels that I was so anticipating. The presentation was nice, but the taste was not... The soup that was on the bottom was coating the mussels and it was way too salty for my taste! It tasted a lot like sea water. There were a decent amount of mussels to eat, but the saltiness really made it hard for me to eat each piece. It didnt have much flavor other than salt. The only saving grace was the fries. Overall, I would not recommend getting an order of mussels here...

This is one of the few restaurants open seven days a week for both lunch and dinner. Serving fresh local produce in a relaxed communal atmosphere for very reasonable prices, they do not take reservations and the wait for brunch can be 30 minutes or more (in Brussels this is considered an extremely long wait)! We went to the newer and larger second location, which looks like an office building or private residence from the outside, except for the signage in the window. It's serve yourself buffet style, with dishes that change every half hour. For brunch there was an assortment of five breads, including brioche, nut, sweet egg, and whole wheat, to croissants. Three types of jams, three types of butters, a pumpkin turnip soup, a mandarin orange endive salad, a sausage and onion casserole, a parsley oil tzatziki, tabbouleh, an assortment of cheese and fruit, soft boiled eggs, fresh ham, and for dessert a chocolate fondant with spiced whipped cream on the side. Everything was so good we all went back for seconds and thirds! For 15 Euros, this place can't be beat:)

Je komt binnen in de grote hal en via de houten ronde trap ga je richting de huiskamer. Je passeert de keuken, wat altijd fijn is om even te piepen naar hygiene. In de huiskamer voel je jou meteen thuis. We werden snel bediend. Heel vriendelijke staff. Klinkt alvast veelbelovend!
