A lovely place for a healthy and quick-ish lunch. Beautiful room, helpful staff, and good healthy food. We had the fish dish of the day, which came with market veggies and potatoes for €15. Veggies and potatoes were steamed. Not sure how the fish was prepared, baked maybe. Without the vin blanc sauce it would have been really healthy, but on the bland side. Don't be fooled by the sleek decor and presentation. Several times, my colleagues and I have felt queasy after consuming Fonteyne's food (rue de Tongres location). I recently tried Fonteyne's "fresh" soup, which tasted like it had been re-heated multiple times -- the flavor was really not good. After only partially consuming the soup, I still felt ill afterwards. A colleague similarly partially consumed a dessert with "fresh" fruit that was clearly old, and she also felt sickened afterwards. I think Fonteyne is riding on its fine reputation, but it no longer deserves this. I will never go there again. read more
