When planning our trip to Spain, we knew we wanted to take a cooking class. We are so glad we chose this cooking school. We signed up for the tapas class. Eduardo, the owner/instructor, was excellent. His English was excellent and gave clear and precise instructions. The overall flow was amazing, given the amount of dishes we made and the fact that there were 12 total in the class. We worked in groups of two and ate the dishes we made. All of the food was really good, we liked everything . Highly recommend this experience.

What an awesome experience and opportunity to learn about local cuisine. Teresa was a fantastic instructor, we learned about food that came from different regions of Spain, a bit of history and a lot of new cooking techniques. All the food turned out amazing. If in Madrid and you love cooking or just like eating great food while enjoying learning with others, highly recommend this as an activity.

Worth every penny, Chef Teresa was AMAZING!! The whole experience was just so so fun, and oddly enough we had stuff in common with everyone. People next to us were also from Seattle area. The others were from the south! It was fun meeting and conversing with everyone. You will leave absolutely stuffed, and likely unable to finish even half the food you made. The offer doggy bags for whatever you'd like to take. Would absolutely recommend this place if you want to do a cooking class! Book direct and not on a travel site! You save $$!

This was so much fun! Chef gave us a 101 of the neighborhood, the market, Spanish meats and cheeses. I learned so much from her! I also learned great cooking tips that I'll definitely be taking back with me. We made sangria, gazpacho, and paella- It was delicious! If you cook often or hardly ever, you will still have a great time and learn a lot. I highly recommend this!

If you read my reviews, then you know how much I love food but this experience was one for the record books. If you are in Madrid, you MUST take this 4 hour class. I know - 4 hours may seem like a long time but trust me, you will cook with up to 8 other guests and the class will blow your mind. The food was much like you would experience in a top restaurant except you are the chef. Of course, led by an extremely talents teacher/cook who's name starts with an E, but she was FABULOUS! First, PROTIP - do not eat all day before taking this course. The food is so good, you will want to ensure you have room to devour everything. The Spanish Omelet was my favorite. This simple dish was so satisfying its crazy. Simple ingredients combined with your patience will make this a stand out at any party. Your guests will think you went to culinary school. Next, was the chorizo. I am a meatlover and the key to this dish is the paprika. I bought a can there at the class. You will drink the sauce trust me. The shrimp and garlic - trust me when i say, save some bread, you will want to soak up this amazing garlic sauce. Again, simple ingredients but you have to use an amazing olive oil. The dessert...no words. What a great way to top off the meal. I do have a video of myself with the torch flaming the sugar. So GOOD. Look this up on Trip Advisor and do yourself a favor...BOOK THIS!!! You will not be disappointed.

Paella and sangria made during our lesson

This was not the most technical cooking class I have ever taken but it was a fun class. We all agreed that our paella was better than any paella we had in restaurants in Spain. I wanted to learn to make paella with socarrat (the crispy crunchy rice bottom that is prized in Spain) but I don't think it was possible on an induction cooktop. We began our class the the Anton Martin Market which is near the cooking school. Our instructor provided a lot of great information on Spanish products such as jamón, olives, seafood, and fresh produce. We made sangria in class but beer and sodas where also provided. We made crema Catalana for dessert. I would have loved to have taken the tapa class the same evening but the venue was booked for a private group. A fun and memorable class to take while in Madrid. I loved it! My sister and I took the paella class on a rainy day in Madrid. Class starts by a quick five minute walk to a market. You get the fresh fish and vegetables needed for the paella and gazpacho. Along with some fruits for sangria! Our instructor Eduardo does an excellent job explaining the market and foods. Back in Ohio we don't have markets like this so it was cool to learn about the market stands putting together orders for restaurants in the early AM and the history. We learned about different meats, cheeses, fish, and produce. From there we went back to the classroom and washed up and got ready to cook! We started with preparing the sangria so it would be ready to drink with the meal. Then we learned how to make a traditional Spanish gazpacho. Puréed and strained for a smooth texture and serve cold. Delicious! Next we learned the ins and outs of paella. Eduardo instructed us on how to chop and sauté everything to perfection! He explained differences in rice, saffron, and even olive oil. I had always wondered what the difference between extra virgin and virgin olive oil. After the paella finished we enjoyed everything we made while Eduardo showed a slide show of pictures from paella cookouts and city fairs! It was all very enjoyable and I wish I had time to do the tapas class! 70€ is totally worth it!

We came to Madrid in August during our honeymoon and decided to book this class as a fun activity on the trip. We are so glad we did; it was perfect! Laura was truly an excellent instructor. We had no idea the depth the class would go into, such as shopping at the market for the items and having a mini lesson on the history of the food in Madrid. It was so awesome and educational. We loved learning about it. Would definitely recommend if you're in Madrid and looking for an activity. You don't have to go as a couple; you can go by yourself, with friends, etc.

Was my favorite activity/tour in spain. Chef Angel taught us how to cook spanish traditional tapas(spanish omlette, chorizo, bravas, garlic shrimp, bread with ham, oil, and tomatoe paste and garlic). We also learned how to make a catalan custard as well as spanish sangria. There was already a bowl of premade sangria which we drank throughout the class there was also free beer but most drank sangria. The class cost about 78 euros but lasted about 4 hrs. Chef Angel also gave us a lot of history about the dishes we made. It was a lot of fun and time flew. You will be full by the end of class as well. Would do it again next time we are there. I recommend this to anyone who needs a break from the tiring tours and wanted a chance to interact with a local. It was a lot of fun.

Some supplies if you want to buy to take home

I took the Paella class with Eduardo. I highly recommend this school as an activity when in Madrid. I am an avid cook who lived in Madrid for a few years in the past and love Spanish food. During my recent stay, my friend mention this school and I decided on the paella class (although I was going to take both but ran out of time!). The school is very clean with a modern kitchen and very easy to find. It was a very small class due to being after the holidays and the new covid variant-just three of us and the instructor. I went to the market with Eduardo to buy the ingredients while the other students were coming late. He explained many things about Spanish food and ingredients and answered all my questions. In the paella class we made sangria, and then enjoyed drinking it while we made crema Catalan and then paella. It was a very informal class but I learned a few tricks on how to make paella, which I had not known. Afterwards we ate our meal with the glasses of sangria. It was fresh and excellent and I took home my leftovers. I very much enjoyed my time here and would take another class without hesitation. I wish I had time to take the tapas class-next time! They give you a little recipe book to take home and you can buy things like saffron to take home.
