I couldn't leave Spain without taking a cooking class! I booked the 7:30 PM Sangria & Paella Workshop (3.5 hrs) with Rey de la Paella through Viator, but you can also book via Airbnb Experiences or directly on their website. Not only do they offer cooking classes (private or public), but they also offer food and wine tours as well. It's located in the heart of Madrid inside a business building--just take the elevator up to their floor.
The space is surprisingly roomy despite being compact, thanks to its layout. The workshop is divided into three parts: a Sangria making session, a Paella cooking class; and enjoying the meal together in a separate dining area. Before the class starts, you're offered a welcome beverage followed by a quick history on Paella. The instructors were so fun! Tony guided us the entire way for our Paella class and was so calm and patient with us all. This is a hands-on experience, so be ready to roll up your sleeves and get to work! Depending on which paella option (seafood, vegetable or chicken) you choose, that's the one you'll help make & enjoy at the end of the class.
5 STARS!! I absolutely loved every second of it!! read more
