Despite all the negative reviews I decided to try Cookie Plug since my family and I love cookies! The cookies here are big and thick almost like hockey pucks. Seriously at first I mistakenly thought the name of the store was Cookie Puck (instead of plug) Lol!! It would be a fitting name. When I arrived around 4:30pm (they open at noon) they still had all their flavors and the cookies were fresh being baked that day. The cookie style here is a soft, thick buttery cookie. Some reviews complain about the grease And that's a fair critique since all my cookies were a bit greasy - but that's from all the butter inside them which also makes them soft. If you ask (when I was here the employee protectively offered) they will warm up the cookies for you in the oven which gives them an ooey gooey taste which was amazing! They also have a fridge of drinks like milk & chocolate milk. The best part about Cookie Plug is the unique variety of cookies. I got the S'mores (called Firecracker even though there's nothing spicy about it), a Red Velvet Oreo stuffed cookie called Good Luv and The Pink Elephant which is Strawberry Cheesecake favored and ended up being my favorite despite me traditionally preferring S'mores cookies. Overall I'd give the cookie taste a 3.5. The cookies are 600 calories each and cost $5 a cookie which is a gut punch x2! They do have specials and I got a 4 pack of cookies for $17. Too bad there's no bulk discount on the calories!!! Will Cookie Plug replace Milk & Cookies as my top cookie store in OC? No! But at the same time, I don't think it deserves the low reviews as the cookies are good (albeit not great), the ambiance is fun & hip and the service was friendly! read more

I was shocked to login and see this place. Had such a low review... The cookies were amazing... Almost like Crumbl meets the streets. The service was great; very informative. And I love the ambience, way more than the cookie cutter alternative. Will definitely be returning for that strawberry cheesecake cookie! Bringing them home, putting them in the oven and topping them with ice cream was definitely the way to go also. Can't wait to try their lemonade next time. read more

I try not to eat junk food especially if it ain't gonna taste good....... Sorry to report but Cookie Plug as one of them. Placed the order using DoorDash for a pick up when I had a really bad episode of cookie craving. The concept looked interesting and visually appealing when I saw it online. Unfortunately, more than half of the cookies I ordered tasted overbaked, too sweet and greasy. To be more specific, out of 8 cookies I ordered, 6 of them were too hard / too baked, and all of them tasted rather similarly. I thought I had ordered 8 different flavors -- some chocolate based and others non-chocolate themed. The apple pie flavored, velvet cake flavored, and snickerdoodle flavored variants literally tasted all the same to me. Just very sugary, over baked, and bland. I couldn't finish any of it. The velvet cake flavored one in particular looks like purple play doh and tasted like it too. So strange. I don't know if my cognition got primed prior to tasting the item because that's what it reminded me of it or what. The chocolate based cookies were just not worth the calories consuming. The Dubai chocolate cookies were very very very sweet and crunchy. Definitely not worth spending the money for it or the calories eaten. So as much as the presentation of the products were neat and visually appealing, the taste of the cookies didn't convey the coolness or hit the spot. This location of the cookie chain is located at the far end of the Portola Plaza shopping center (next to Aloha Stacks). I've tried Cookie Plug at other locations and thought they were pretty good. They are known for big, thick, hockey puck sized cookies, soft outside and even softer inside. Once inside I noticed they also have smaller-sized cookie options. I asked the kind fellow what the deal was on the smallest ones and he explained that you can get a sampler of their 12 every-day flavors, 6 in 2 plastic containers. They also have a few rotating monthly flavors but those are not included in the 12-pack of sampler cookies. I decided to go for the 12 little cookies so I could try a bunch of different flavors. The cookies were already packaged in containers so I'm not sure how long they had been sitting. Unfortunately, half were quite hard; one was nearly inedible. I was disappointed. The ones I liked best were Firecracker (s'mores), Pink Elephant (strawberry cheesecake), OG (chocolate chip), and Crunch Nugget (peanut butter chocolate). This has got to be one of the funniest experiences I've had. I spent $40 for 5 cookies Ordered their Keto Calvin... "snickerdoodle" cookie. - $6 for a cookie (before delivery fee). If it's good cookie, totally fine. - This is such a joke of a product it made me laugh. It's 1.5 inches wide and tastes like nothing. A muffin maybe? A plain, I forgot to flavor the muffin, muffin. I've been to different Cookie Plug locations before, and usually enjoy their cookies, but today was such a disappointment. I ordered 8 cookies, and instead of giving me a proper bag, they just handed me greasy, mismatched boxes. The oil leaked all over my car seat, which was disgusting. When I opened them, the cookies looked nothing like what I've had in the past. The Purple Haze in particular was completely off. So instead of that fun purple color, they came out brown and burnt-looking. The taste matched the appearance: overcooked, old, and greasy. The edges were so hard they were almost inedible i couldn't finish half the cookie. Overall, the service was careless, the presentation was sloppy, and the product quality was terrible. I've had Cookie Plug at their locations in Riverside & Anaheim and we've always enjoyed their cookies. This location has only been open for a week & is next to CVS & the ever so busy brunch spot, Stacks. Theme, decor, cookie names... definitely not your typical cookie joint - Street / Hood / 90's inspired everything. Their cookies come in different sizes / packages. The large are puck size cookies that are firm on the outside and perfectly soft inside. The mini ones come in the 'plug poppers' & it's a pack of 12, one of each flavor - you can't mix & match. They have 'doggie style' treats for your dogs. They also serve 'purple drank' which is basically purple lemonade. Our favorites: OG Cookie (chocolate chip), Bam Bam Cookie (fruity pebbles), Cookie Cookie Cream Cookie (Oreo), Purple Haze (white choc chip). They warmed it up before serving. They didn't have signage for pricing & packages. I had to ask how much for each & what not. $5 each for the puck cookies, not sure what pricing is for the rest, or if it's discounted if you get a box or a set. Only to find out there was a small group of QR codes on the table to scan for the full menu. It was almost blended in with their decor, so it was hard to find. And for those who are wondering... these are regular cookies. NO DRUGS. Just good ol' cookies. LOL. Perfect treats to bring as presents or to potlucks. read more

Worst cookie I've ever had. I will say I didn't think it was possible for someone to mess up a chocolate chip cookie but this place can teach a master class at how not to make cookies. We were so excited to try this spot and bought 4 cookies (huge mistake!). We got the OG, Cookie And Cream, S'more, and Apple Cinnamon, and they were all practically inedible. They look like hockey pucks, and taste like them too! When I say I have never tasted anything like this, I mean it, but not in a good way. They all ended up in the trash, what a waste of money! Noticed this new cookie place in a shopping center I frequent and decided to give it a try. Fun, unique, 90s vibe with some humor in the shop. The young lady at the counter was very pleasant and helpful. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is I didn't see pricing posted anywhere --- not sure if i was supposed to scan a QR code but I ended up asking the young lady for the info on pricing and options. Would be much easier if price and packaging options are posted. But other than that, everything was GREAT! I bought seven cookies which is supposed to be the best option price-wise and an additional box for $1 so i could gift some of them to a friend. I got the OG chocolate chip, peanut butter chocolate, toffee ( one of the flavors of the month), and smores. I did not have them warmed up as I knew we weren't going to eat them right away but it's an option at no extra cost. The seven cookies were $25 --- not bad at all for large, thick, hockey-puck size cookies! We warmed the cookies at home before eating for 10 seconds in the microwave and they were DELICIOUS!!!! I like these better than Crumbl cookies as they aren't overly sweet like Crumbl tends to be IMO and instead, just right. We were impressed and will be back! Ambiance is cool, different. Not really kid-friendly. I took my teen here to give it a try today. There was no cookie smell walking in, that should have been my first sign to leave. We got a four pack and asked for them warm. They were hard as a rock and definitely just not ooi gooey, melt in your mouth cookies that you hope for. If I could give this zero stars, I would. High pressure sales for a cookie place, no prices listed anywhere and quite possibly the WORST cookies I have ever had. They are hard on the outside and pretty much raw in the middle. The "Nuts OG" tastes like a nasty protein bar, the horrible taste would not leave my mouth after one small bite. Came across cookie plug when we went to our usual breakfast place next door and was intrigued. From the outside, it doesn't seem like a cookie shop. In fact, you might think it's a skate board shop but upon closer inspection, you'll see Cookie written across which is how it caught my eye. Very grunge. The marketing is a little confusing though. It doesn't feel like it's catering for the kiddies like crumbl cookies. Maybe high schoolers? Once you are inside, there is a display of a lot of different flavors. Tbh, the display did not look appetizing. They looked dry like stones. Is this intentional ? It's almost like an anti-cookie cookie. The girl at the store recommended the firecracker which was a smores flavor and their most popular. I would've tried a number of cookies in the minis but unfortunately the minis only come in a pack of 12. God knows I definitely don't need 12 minis but I ordered one large s'mores cookie (!). The cookie came warm in a brown bag for $5. It was fine. I didn't think it was good enough for me to come back, especially if it was their most popular. The pink cheesecake flavor was inedible. The texture was that of a piece of chalk. On the bright side, the employees were helpful and friendly. They warm them up for you when you order.
