First of all, I actually like Cookout, but honestly, I don't think they like me back. Every time I go there, something is wrong. Order a double hamburger, and it always ends up smaller than a regular hamburger -- go figure. The time before last, I ordered six-piece chicken tenders and somehow got three giant chicken breasts instead. This last time, I made it crystal clear I wanted the six-piece tenders, and they still only gave me five. Even something as simple as asking for ketchup is hit or miss. Do better CookOut!!! This is supposed to be a burger tray with 2 sides of cheese bites and a 3 piece chicken strip tray with 2 sides of cheese bites. Only got 2 strips and a bite of a third strip and 7 cheese bites. You get more bites in one order than what came in this tray with 2 sides. If I could give them five stars for the hush puppies I would. The milkshake was also really good. Unfortunately, the milkshake wasn't what I ordered - I wanted it chocolate cherry, and I wound up being something that had caramel maybe snickers in it. I think when there are so many options, it might be easy for them to make mistakes nevertheless I would totally go back because those hush puppies are bomb. read more

Thought it was rather average...got the huge burger cheddar style with Cajun seasoning....The burger was probably frozen and then cooked too fast as it was still pink but very dry....The bun and soaked up something and was falling apart....The whole thing was put together very messy and the onions didn't seemed grilled all the way....Also don't think any Cajun seasoning was even put on the burger......The onion rings were quite tasty...They had a nice breading and were cooked good......I also got a peanut butter fudge milkshake...That was probably my favorite part of the meal...the shake was super thick...Ithad sweet streaks of peanut butter running through it....Very tasty. read more

Leland location that just opened is obviously clean, the staff is super hardworking and they have been trying to change things you can tell based on reviews I've been seeing. I love when places actually look at their feedback and do something about it. Of course at certain times you will get 1 lazy person here or there or a slip up when it's busy due to how fast they move but they are always delicious. Highly recommend a tray and anything you get will be good I can promise that. The burgers here are absolutely delicious and always cooked to perfection. The secret is to ask for a side of cheese (cheddar) to dip their fries!!!!! I'd love to review the entire menu at this point but it's fair to say I've never had anything I didn't like and I'm oddly a VERY picky eater. 10/10 read more

Love this place! The staff is always friendly, the service very efficient, and the food delicious! I know I can always count on a good experience during my lunch break or if I start craving onion rings late at night. It also helps that this place is located only minutes from where I work and just a bit farther from where I live! Got lunch here today. My first time at a Cook Out. Food was really good, we got hamburgers, hotdogs, fries, chili cheese fries and shakes. Everything was really tasty. Would have given 5 stars except every time we needed something (a fork, some salt etc), I had to go back to the person who took our order and wait then ask when they were free. Cook Out is a funny fast food joint. There's something I love about it's simplicity. It's very "no-frills". Their menu doesn't use any fancy words to describe their foods. It's simply "Fries" or "Slaw". The food trays come in styrofoam boxes. The sandwiches are wrapped in tinfoil, no branding. Hey, that's cool Cook Out. That being said--the food is still fast food quality. Cook Out tends to hit big or strike out, depending on what I get. This time around, fries were crispy, hot and tasty while my burger was lukewarm and hard to eat. They have a ton of weird milkshake flavors. All i can say is that i was Extremely disappointed in the quality of my food. I usally enjoy their food but today about 2pm i ordered my usual. a double with cheese and a lg Cajun fry. Well i opened the fries and they were not only cold but they were regular fries. I then moved on to my cheese burger.. well when i opened it, it looked like a week old burger dried out and yet wrong. there as no cheese. I ended up throwing it all out. what a waste of $10. Super nice Cook Out located between two small strip shops, Port City Java on one side & Dunkin Donuts on the other. This location is not like most of the other Cook Outs where they only have drive-thru & walk-up ordering, this newly constructed building has the drive-thru along with an indoor dining room. I went through the drive-thru on my visit & service was very friendly & speedy, 5 or 6 cars ahead of me & I was out in about 10 minutes. The food was great, I love Cook Out burgers anyway, this new location did not dissappoint, I'll take a Cook Out chargrilled burger over any other fast food burger any day along with one of their awesome milkshakes. read more

This Cookout location was packed with customers in the drive thru but we got quick, good service in the walk up window. I've always seen Cookout in the south and this is my first time having it. I actually enjoyed it! I had to get the cheeseburger with Cajun seasoning, it was a juicy flavorful burger. I also got onion rings and a chicken quesadilla. I actually liked the random side options too. Most people in my party got their own tray and it was the perfect amount of food and it was served hot and fresh. Cookout did not disappoint. Wow! I love CookOut! But not this location... if this had been my first time eating CookOut I'd never return to another location. Order was missing food. Then when I asked for the missing food they looked shocked like I was begging for something crazy... Then 10 min later they gave me the wrong thing... The only reason we continue to come to this place is the location. It's perfectly situated a 2 minute drive away. The food, albeit decent is 50% of the time made wrong. Wrong condiments, wrong stuff in the bag- wrong food items. it's just ridiculous. If I requested this place to replace the meals they've gotten wrong, I'd have enough free food to eat lunch every day for at least 2,weeks. No, that's no exaggeration. Love the restaurant and service but the male bathroom is awkward. The bathroom is a one person room but the urinal is right next to the door with no wall covering up the user...if the door is not properly locked. I would recommend a small wall or cover be placed there so that the user and passerby's don't get a peep show. Food was good and so was the customer service. read more

This was my first time here and I loved it! My husband ordered a burger without onions but got one with. That would be they only reason for 4 stars not 5. Stopped through the drive-thru with orders for the family. The cashier was friendly. Got our order and noticed one of our shakes was missing. Asked for it, and it was sitting right there at the window, just didn't get handed over. Ok, no harm no fowl. Got home and two of our five orders were missing sides. Not cool. We made it work with what we had, and the food was good, consistent with other Cook Outs. Apparently they need to do better in checking that the food is in the tray before handing it over for bagging. Three separate items missing in one order is a bit ridiculous. What a great value place. The combo menu allows you to select a main meal (burger or chicken sandwich or quesadilla) then two sides from fries to corn dogs, yes corn dogs! And finally a drink, add $1 extra for a milk shake. All for $4.99; ok! Ok! You like me are thinking burger and two very small sides, no! They are full sides! I ordered jerk chicken sandwich with a side of onion rings & corn dogs (because I could) & a bottle water (not extra) and my friend got a double burger with fries & a quesadilla and upgraded to a chocolate milk shack. Our total with taxes was $12.26. The whole meal was cooked to order, hot and feast. The the sandwiches, fries, & onion rings are standard drive threw quality. However, I was surprised the corn dog was full size and the quesadilla was a pleasant surprise, just enough heat to make anyone happy. We had cookout shakes last night for the first time and we're so impressed we knew we HAD to get them out last night in town. The drive thru line was LOOOONG but the wait was well worth it! The workers inside kept the line moving at a steady pace and, most importantly, made some of the best shakes we've had!
