The burgers do really taste like they came right from a backyard cookout. I had a Tray Meal with a cheddar style burger, fries and hush puppies with a shake. Everything was excellent! I think it only cost about $7, too. I figured it had to be good since the drive thru line wrapped around the building and I wasn't disappointed. The line moved quickly and the service was friendly. On 3 separate occasions this restaurant's manager refused to make right an obvious mistake with a food order. I was shorted nuggets in my to go order twice and on another occasion I was not given what the menu stated I was purchasing. After an argument with the manager I finally convinced him that he was reading his own menu incorrectly and he gave me what I paid for but he refused to correct the other 2 mistakes. This was my first time at the Cookout so I really didn't know what to expect. The layout of the counter where you place your order is kind of weird. It's super small so it's a tight fit for 2-3 people trying to read the menu and place an order. The menu is extensive lots of combinations and different shakes. I had the a burger with hush puppies and fries plus an Oreo shake. The food was ok just typical greasy fast food. The shake was good and thick. The best part was the staff. They were all very friendly and the lady that cleans/supervises the dining area is amazing. I watched her clean, make sure people received their orders, and help the seniors be seated. 9/14/15 I went by to grab a great hot dog and a shake, except that's not what I got. When I drove off I tried to drink the shake ("special shake") but it was so thick it would not pass through any straw made. I have had two beef burgers there. The first was the 1/2 pound burger which is really two quarter pound burgers in the same sandwich. Too much! The patties at Cookout are somewhat smaller and thicker than the ones I am used to getting, resulting in a some what thicker than normal andwich that can be too tall if you load it up with the included toppings. The food tasted above average. The line was long, but the food came out quickly. The next time I stayed with the single patty quarter pound burger. Much better for eating with all the toppings I had requested. The staff spent a lot of time keeping the drink area clean. This can be a slight problem if the order lines are long, as the staff carries small buckets of hot water and cleaner through the lines each time they go to service the drink area. I would rather deal with that problem than a dirty drink area. I observed the staff going to great lengths to help elderly customers put in orders and retrieve them. Bathrooms were kept very clean, even with the usual heavy traffic for a new restaurant opening in Warner Robins. I can definitely see some family disputes about going to the Sonic across the street vs the Cookout considering the interestingly different drink order varieties. Being a professional cook myself, I like to try new things. My wife and I went through the maze of cones to get to the drive through. Outside the restaurant there were 4 girls who worked there just standing around. The menu is extensive and my wife was looking over me to try and read it. The attendant asked for my order and I asked for a second to decide. He must have taken me literally. He asked a second time within 5 seconds so I said one minute a bit louder. Before I had it out of my mouth he was asking a third time. I said a couple of choice words I am not proud of and drove off. I understand that drive through windows have a turn around time they must maintain, but when you are new in town, no one is sure what products you have. Have been there about 10 times since they opened and once at 01:00 a.m. never have went thru drive thru always have went inside even at 01:00 a.m. always busy but have always had friendly fast service and good food for a great price no complaints here. I bet if I went to McDonalds that amount of times they would be 10 for 10 at bad service wrong order and cold bad food. The new CEO at McDonalds may want to go undercover and see how they do it. Best burger besides my daddy's! Cookout is a hit and the prices are awesome. You can get a great burger, two sides, and a drink for $4.99 plus tax. They are always crowded but efficient. Your burger is customized to your liking with condiments. They offer tons of milkshake varieties and numerous options for those not too fond of burgers. Watch out, Five Guys. There's a new Sherriff in town. Cook Out has the best burgers on the planet. And their Fries appear to be freshly peeled and fried and did I mention HOT? I dropped a star because of the lack of handicapped parking spaces. Only one space for the whole joint. And the parking space is on the opposite side from the wheelchair ramp and I'm pretty sure they are in violation of the ADA laws. This is a pretty big restaurant but the parking area is poorly designed with all the spaces on the outer perimeter of the lot and no spaces at all directly adjacent to the building. read more

I went to cookout last night to get some food for me, my girlfriend and a friend. My friend said Cook Out was the best place for burgers and my girlfriend only had cookout once and that was when she was stationed in Washington D.C. She said the service she received was excellent and the food was great, so we proceeded to try the one out in Warner Robins. I can tell you this, that will be THE LAST TIME I EVER eat Cook Out. The customer service we received in the drive thru was HORRIBLE. I don't know who the young girl was who was operating the drive thru headset, but her attitude was horrendous. I informed the young girl that I had 3 orders. I was never given a "go ahead and proceed with your orders or next order." All I received was complete silence after each order. I wanted to order some cajun fries but sadly I was cut off at the end of my order with my total. Her tone and how she went about everything was terrible. I don't know if she might've been having a bad day or whatever but please leave your horrible attitude elsewhere. Everyone has bad days, I work in a hospital saving lives and I know how stressful things can be. You never who is will be coming to your restaurant. First let me say that the food was great; except for the UN-GODLY amount of mayonnaise (which I asked for NO mayo). I had to order fries and a large drink at the window because I didnt know that what I ordered didnt come with a drink and fries. I received my large drink but not my fries, paid for the added requests and even got both of the receipts before leaving the window. I checked my bag and there were no fries. So I went into the store to get the fries I ordered and a lady very rudely at the front counter asked me what I wanted (she did not have on a name tag or I would've put her name on here). I told her I didn't receive my fries and she asked to see my receipt, I told her that I had two receipts and that they both had different amounts on them and none have fries on them. But I did indeed pay for them, she continued to demand the original receipt so I went out to my vehicle and got the receipt for her. I brought it to her and she rudely stormed off and asked the girl Erica at the drive through window, "Did somebody order a large fry and you didn't give it to them?" The unknown and rude cashier then grabbed a small bag that had a large fry in it and sat the bag on the counter and said here you go. If she would of looked around or asked someone at the window if I had ordered them instead of being rude, instead of assuming I didnt pay for them and wasn't so inconsiderate I wouldn't be writing this review. And for future reference... Please don't tape my added requests to the bag my food is in and that I paid for if your not going to put it in there. Fell in love with this place when it first opened. The burgers and fries WERE like you would make at home.....fresh, not frozen, burgers were thick and juicy. I thought with "cookout food" this good at an affordable price, why fire up the grill! I became a repeat customer until my last 2 visits.....my burgers were pre-formed, pre-frozen, thin, dry as leather, beef patties. The fries were from bagged frozen fries....no longer fresh cut. Was this a bait and switch strategy to build a clientele of repeat customers? Rope us in with fresh food, then switch to frozen? Very disappointed they don't live up to their promise of fresh, affordable, quality food. Now I will go to the new Five Guys for fresh burgers and fresh-cut fries...they have a good reputation for fresh food...but I will miss the "grilled" feature at Cookout. Funny Cookout story on one of my visits: I ordered my burger with everything except tomatoes and add extra pickles. When I got home, I had a bun, small beef pattie, and a pile of pickles...no other condiments! I called and the manager took my name and told me I would get a free burger on my next visit. On my next visit, there was no record of my call and promised burger. After being interrogated about the name of the manager I spoke with and the date of my problem, they gave me my free burger with a very begrudging attitude.
