I had reviewed this place over a year ago. Still I cannot give a good review. I would give it zero stars but could not. The food smelled great, but when we opened it. I ordered the Char-Grilled Chicken Breast, "Cajun style". There were no toppings and the bun was hot, but the chicken patty was ice cold. Onion rings were not crispy and tasted like they had set on a counter for hours, My wife had the Bacon Ranch Wrap, the bacon was ok but it was missing the lettuce and cheese. The large flies were flat and cold as well. Price was high for the hype for mediocre food. Any drive thru needs to fill orders correctly .Won't be back, because no body has friendly attitued and the order is ALWAY WRONG. read more

I had never even heard of Cookout so I had to try. The drive through was line around the building so I parked and went in. First impression was brand new very clean place. I went to the counter and was greeted with a smile and a "Hi how are you today". The young lady saw I was struggling with the menu so told me her favorite. I tried the double cheeseburger, onion rings, and corn dog. I washed it down with a Peanut Butter shake. For a fast food joint it was really good and will return when back in the area. read more

Cook Out is conveniently located on Hwy 27 in Somerset close to Lake Cumberland! The restaurant is very clean, has excellent service and delicious food! I loved that Christian music was playing in the restaurant and that the cups say John 3:16 and God Bless America! The tray meals are a great value and are very filling and absolutely delicious! The trays include 2 sides and a beverage! The Cheeseburgers and Spicy Chicken sandwiches are amazing! We also love the Onion Rings and the Fries! The Cook Out Special Sauce is magnificent on fries, onion rings and sandwiches! The Jr. tray was perfect for our son as he wanted a cheeseburger, nuggets and onion rings! Their ranch dressing is Hidden Valley so it's excellent on the nuggets and fries! I love the grilled onions on the burgers and the grill flavor on the tasty burgers! OK so my family just discovered this cookout place and we ordered cheeseburgers with cheddar cheese and sautéed onions and mayonnaise, we all had one about nine days ago and we have one at least every other day since they are the best hamburgers in Somerset I don't know how they make them, but it looks like they have my hand, very happy that I pulled through the drive-through. One day are definitely will be our favorite burgers for probably ever the lady at the window where all the ladies at the window are the sweetest ladies I am not kidding you I don't know if they just love their job or if they just a sweet but they are the nicest ladies, I know I have not been there when a man has been at the window, so I'm just saying ladies, the service is outstanding. Food is always cold. I ordered a large cheese fry the last time I went and the frys were cold and hard and there was barely any fries or cheese. I always am being charged for a drink that I never got even when they ask if I want something to drink I tell them no. The staff is rude and hateful. I can understand why this place is always empty with no vehicles in the parking lot or drive thru. You must hired the employees from steak and shake which was the restaurant before this one went in its place or maybe the store manager is the same just a different restaurant. Wow, what terrible food and service. First off, we had to keep saying hello? into the drive through because the person was not paying any attention. Then, they didnt tell us which window to drive to and it wasn't marked. The food was just sad. Double cheeseburger is nothing but the smallest, store-bought bun with two patties smashed together. It tasted fine but was extremely small. The crinkle cut fries taste like cheap, generic fries from Walmart. Not very good. The hubby got cole slaw which was warm so thats a recipe for salmonella. It was nothing but shredded cabbage and a little bit of mayo and vinegar, maybe. Not sure. It had absolutely no spices or carrots in it. He took one bite and threw it away. Not sure who threw that together and thought, yeah! Flavorless, bland coleslaw is where its at! If you cant make slaw right, then dont make it or offer it. The worst part was when we got this slop there were NO utensils, NO condiments for the fries and two, napkins. Two. I guess here in Kentucky, they assume everyone is fine with wiping thier mouths on their shirts. I would expect that kind of service from McDs and Sonic as they do the same thing by shafting people in the drive through. Never put enough napkins or give utensils or ketchup any longer. If you're trying to save money, cut costs with the overwhelming amount of items on your menu board. Not by shorting people items they need to eat your food. read more

Got a double bacon cheeseburger fries and a order of cheese curds and only got 5 cheese curds for a side

Mediocre at best. Ordered a cheeseburger with bacon, mayonnaise and pickle. Received a hamburger with bacon on a dry bun. Ordered a corndog. Had to ask where that was at the window because it wasn't even in the bag. Ordered a malt. My house is 30 minutes away, I still could not drink it by the time I got home. The straw was useless for the thickness of the shake. It should be served with something much larger and a spoon. Very disappointing visit. The burger did taste chargrilled but it was hard to choke down dry. I'm not sure what all the hype is but I certainly wouldn't return. There were at least five people in the drive-through window area. How an order could still go out incorrectly is beyond me. Well, this place is a disappointment. I got a double cheeseburger and it was smashed flatter than a pancake my corn dog was burnt like it was being cremated. We had went to cookout in Richmond KY before one was open in Somerset.Great food.We went to the one in somerset when it first opened, big mistake, it was awful....a side of onion rings comprised of 4 small onion rings.We decided to go back today and give it another chance years later.Another big mistake and one we WILL NOT repeat.I can see why the place was almost empty at noon, what should have been a peak busy time.The hamburger buns were hard, the cajun fries and cajun chicken were merely sprinkled with some type of disgusting cajun(?) seasoning, the waitress who presented the food at the window balked when I asked for some condiments, like they were coming out of her pocket.In addition the hiring sign outside is NOT geared towards American citizens.American citizens do not need a hiring sign in a foreign language.The intent there was obvious.But we could have overlooked that if the food was decent(we did overlook it and gave it a second and final chance today).This location WILL eventually close unless they step up their game. read more

DO NOT GO HERE unless you want them to forget half your order multiple times. this place is run by a team of primates who dont know how to work a kitchen. I'm sure there are other cookout locations that are fantastic but this one in particular is awful. But hey if you want a blast from the past go eat here its just like school lunch with the quality that they serve the food. you're better off just driving down the road to grab literally anything else to eat. Honestly I didn't have enough food to feel a small dog. Kinda cold, greasy, and the packs of ketchup was better then it. Bugs all over the bathroom, not clean, and the smell made me gag.
