We stopped here on our way to the movies one evening trying to get some grub before popcorn being our only choice. The food was really good! I didn't realize this was a chain. We are still learning the area. I got a cheeseburger with grilled jalapeños, onion, lettuce, and ketchup. It was soooooooo good! Extremely filling too. I got a side of the Cajun fries and a drink. I loved all the Bible verses on the packaging. Nice little reminders as we sit and are thankful for our food and many blessings! At around 10:40 we went to cookout on Tuesday 10/7/25. An older white gentlemen ('m not sure I'd use that word to describe him) asked if we had "four trays". I misheard him and thought he said "four shakes" so I confirmed. My friends in the car quickly told me he actually said tray, so I tried to get his attention by saying "excuse me" 3 times. He didn't hear me either, which is no problem at all. He then handed me a drink carrier with 4 cups. When it was in the car and I had handed him my credit card, he stated that he was confused. It was "four trays and four drinks". I told him "I'm sorry, I misheard you, we had four shakes". He instantly became annoyed and stated that I had just paid for the order behind me, which was 2x as much as mine and berated me, saying "all you had to do was say yes that's mine". He handed me the four shakes (after taking back the drinks) that I apparently just paid for twice over and I politely thanked him and drove away. After waiting in the drive through for 30 minutes and dealing with a rude man who thought it was appropriate to speak to costumers like that I did not feel like challenging him to correct my order or let him know that it is his job to know what car ordered what. Maybe he enjoys acting like that towards young girls, but that attitude should be left at the door before clocking in. I wish I had gotten the money that was stolen from me, but I did not want to risk an altercation with a deranged man holding mystery drinks who clearly had no self control or manners. read more

I would give this restaurant a zero if that was possible. Rude person took our order Sunday night. Order was prepared wrong, not all ingredients included on burger. Person who "fixed" it was also short with me and didn't fix it correctly. The thin burger patties were way over cooked and had no flavor. Tables were filthy, we had to clean them ourselves. Sat in the drive thru for ~15 mins while most of the employees were standing around outside talking to each other. Ended up going inside to order, which I was able to do so immediately. The drink machines were out of almost all soda syrups, and one was overflowing with dumped ice and soda and was dripping onto the floor. They have very cheap food the cookout tray comes with so much food but the food is....something you eat because you're starving and nothing is open. Every time we pass this place the parking lot is overflowing with cars so we thought something good must be going on, and we weren't disappointed when we tried it for lunch today. Even though the line inside to place an order was snaked around the dining area, we made it to the counter in a reasonable amount of time and our order was taken by a very friendly young man. They did a great job at handling the crowd, including a bus load of people that walked in when we were there. The food was good and very reasonably priced - your choice of a variety of burgers, chicken or BBQ sandwiches, even quesadillas - plus two sides and a drink for $4.59. And don't leave without ordering one of 40 different milkshakes, such as the banana pudding flavor with bits of cookie in it. Yum. Worth fighting the crowd and waiting for a seat. read more

They hubby complained that his burger was greasy, but he ordered his steakhouse style, which includes grilled onions. I pointed out to him, they are most likely cooked in tons of grill butter (aka- oil). Must have been good, because a day later he's mentioned it several times. I really have only tried one thing at cookout and it's the milkshakes. So until I eat something there, I'll review the milkshakes. I have tried a few different flavors. I have had the peanut butter, Reese's, caramel, and chocolate chip cheesecake. Each one was thick and creamy and full of flavor. The problem I had with the cheesecake one is that all of the cheesecake was at the bottom of the cup so there was no flavor of cheesecake until you got down. My biggest complaint is that if you try to drink a milkshake from cookout with a straw you are likely to pop a blood vessel. That's how thick they are. I asked Isaac about suggestions and he told me he only gets a double burger with bacon, cheese, grilled onions and mayonnaise. I called it the IsaacBurger and I ordered, ate and loved it so much that I suggested it be a regular on the menu.
