So I have been here twice in the 8 months I have lived in Charlotte. I'll not be going back. Last year, my roommate and I came to this location for milkshakes. They were disgusting and watery. And it took almost an hour to go through the line. We never planned on going back, but tonight I was STARVING after work - and me being hypoglycemic I can't always wait. I Will legitimately pass out if I don't get food in time. So I swung in because it was the first place I could swing in. Should have gone across the street to BoJangles. It took 8 minutes for someone to take my order on the order box with only two other cars in line. Once I got to the window, it took 35 minutes to get my food. Hot dogs with chili, chicken, burgers, milk shakes and open till 3am on weekends; what more could you ask for? This is a really great place to grab a bite to eat after hours. I've eaten here at all times of day and night and the quality of the food remains consistent (i.e. the chili at 2am has yet to make me sick). The staff always seems friendly and 9 times out of 10 they'll get your order right. If it's your first time visiting a Cook Out, I suggest skipping the drive thru and walking up the the window in order to familiarize yourself with the menu. The menu is large and I mean very large, along the lines of 140+ items. You'll get confused really quick if you try to just drive up and go through all the options in a matter of seconds. The exceptionally large menu also has a ton of milk shakes. When I say this location is the worst it's the worst. I came to this location after completing my Uber trips at 3:30a there was a truck in the first lane but not at the speaker. Clearly they were undecided so I went to the second lane. After sitting for 3 mins with my window down in the rain they tell me that this register is closed. So I had to pull back around. If I wasn't hungry I would have left. I went back around and the same suv is there. I notice 3 more cars go to the second lane. They tell them the same thing. Finally the suv in front gets there food. But now they start taking orders for the second window. I wanted to question the server but I knew it would be a waste of time. The issue is there is no corporate number to complain about poor service. You literally made me wait 10mins when you could have used both lanes from the jump. To top it off my food wasn't event hot. The cookout on Sunset over charges their customers. Their special comes with a large drink but they upgrade all of their customers to a giant drink without their permission and charges them an additional $0.50. If you tell them you want a large drink they will give it to you but they still charge you the additional $0.50. When asked about it the employee said they are told to do that to every customer. I know it doesn't seem like a lot but just imagine how much money they make overcharging customers. They should be against the law it's false advertising.
