We chose H&J based not only on price, but reputation. The job started quickly, and despite adverse weather conditions, was finished when promised. More importantly, the work was professionally executed. Steve came by daily to oversee the process and discuss the project with me. Alan, Anibal, Rony and Darwin were great! We have dogs and they were unbelievably cooperative when the dogs needed to go out. They constantly confirmed gates were closed and the yard was secure. End result? The roof is BEAUTIFUL and properly done. I have been in building maintenance and management for 30 years and have overseen multi-million dollar roof projects. No corners were cut and there were no shortcuts. I highly and enthusiastically recommend H&J! EXCELLENT COMPANY!

John Gaillard, the owner, was on site early everyday, working hard all day, along with his crew. He even worked on weekends to get our project done on time and on budget. John is extremely reliable and communicates well and quickly through texts, emails, and phone conversations. He also responded with a smile to every last minute change we had along the way. John is honest and kind, his prices fair, and he is a pleasure to work with. His main concern is making his clients happy, and we are very happy! We signed a contract with this contractor on June 9 to repair our deck. The contract clearly states…read morethat the project was to be completed by July 4. Today is July 16, and the project is still not even halfway finished. From the very beginning, the project was poorly managed. Work started late, crews were not sent as promised, there were days when no one showed up at all, and when workers did arrive, they often worked only a few hours before leaving. Communication was extremely poor. Our phone calls and messages were frequently ignored, and we were constantly forced to chase the contractor for updates. The job site was repeatedly left in an unsafe and unacceptable condition. Construction debris and garbage were left scattered around our property instead of being cleaned up or removed. We have two puppies, and they were injured because of the debris that was left behind. No homeowner should have to worry about the safety of their family or pets because a contractor failed to maintain a safe work site. This is a clear breach of contract. To make matters worse, the contractor knew we have an important event at our home next week and that completing the deck before then is extremely important to us. Rather than honoring the terms of the signed contract, he has used our time-sensitive situation to demand additional money that is not required under our written agreement. Work has now stopped altogether, even though the contract does not permit this. At this point, the lack of progress raises serious concerns about whether this company has the experience or ability to complete this type of project efficiently. Regardless of the reason, there is simply no justification for a project that was supposed to be completed by July 4 to still be less than halfway finished on July 16. Also, they tried to use subprime replacement material - not exactly what we had (for example: iron nails, instead of stainless steel that was used in the past) until I had to fight them for it. As a result, we intend to pursue legal action for breach of contract and seek all damages available under the law. I would strongly caution anyone considering hiring this contractor. If you would like to see the signed contract, our communications, photos documenting the project's progress, and other evidence of this experience, please feel free to contact me directly at feruza.esanova@gmail.com I am happy to share the documentation so others can make an informed decision before hiring this company.

She has been paying for this decision since. Actually, the original work went off without a hitch. The unit was replaced in a timely and professional manor. Recently, the system stopped working. Why wouldn't it, it's summertime and it's hot outside. Needless to say, three weeks later, after countless phone calls, by her and me, no return phone calls, no answers, being told they forgot their cell phone at home (yeah, my five year old wouldn't buy that one), many a broken promise as to when they would show up, and let's not forget not showing up the unit still doesn't work. Don't worry GLP, we will find someone who knows what they're doing and knows and understands what customer service is all about. The money she saved on the initial work, most has gone to hotel rooms. I have no illusions that you will be placing this testimonial on your web site. You should have no illusion that we will ever be recommending you to our family and friends.
