Overall, I was generally satisfied with CT Glass & Mirror. I had a few window panes in my condo…read morereplaced, one due to a large crack & two others due to failed seals that were allowing moisture in between the two panes. The owner, Phil, came to perform the estimate. After that, different workers came to perform the work. Pros: Excellent workers. The guys who showed up to actually perform the job were courteous, nice, & professional. I would give them a shout out, but I've forgotten their names. Cons: After 10 days waiting for CT Glass to receive the order (the physical glass pane) on their end, they accidentally ordered a wrong size for one of the windows. So two of the three windows were complete, then we waited another 10 days for the third to be done. Not a huge deal by any means, just a slightly inconvenient mix-up nonetheless. The 10 day wait for the glass on their end could not be helped, as it was tempered glass so it needed to be ordered special. It can also be somewhat difficult to communicate with CT glass, as it doesn't seem they have much customer service experience.

Another (nearly) seamless experience with Ridgefield Glass today. Have used them a number of times…read morein the past for Thermopane glass replacements and always been pleased with the quality of the work and price quoted. This time around, needed the door glass on one of our French doors replaced. Walked into the store and was able to make an appointment for an estimate on the spot. Lead time for the glass was adhered to, and the installer arrived during the earlier part of the (thankfully short) time window quoted. Job site was left as clean as the installer found it. Only quibble: while I essentially gave this project to Ridgefield Glass in order to get a perfectly matching surround door insert frame (as opposed to ordering the insert on line and crossing my fingers that it "might" match and installing it myself), and was assured repeatedly that the new insert frame would match "perfectly," it does not. The molding profile differs significantly from the existing one, and the installer's comment "they don't make them like that anymore" doesn't quite ring true--the door is only 3 years old....sounds more like the 100% correct profile was not in stock/on backorder and what I received is the closest thing available. That said, the finished result looks good--it would have simply been nice to get a head's up on not quite receiving what I was hoping to.

I'm well aware of the factors such as amount of use and frequency of cleaning. The bathrooms are cleaned 2x/week minimum, because that's just how I roll, and they are both well ventilated. I explained the concerns and Jack offered to replace these things for $295. Since the areas of concern are in staggered locations, it is evident that it was not done properly to start. Jack said they guarantee work for 1 year only. More than likely, nothing will go wrong in 1 year. If their work is quality, then it should be guaranteed for longer. A good business would at least visit to check customer concerns and possibly offer a one-time courtesy repair after confirming the work done should not have failed so quickly. Jack was right quick to sell some bogus glass treatment that allegedly decreases water spots and the need to clean glass so often. That was a waste of money. I would never recommend this company and did not have a positive experience.

Full disclosure- I am in the process of disputing the work that Associated did at my house. The…read moredispute revolves around whether they replaced my shower door with an inferior product. That part of my review is subjective. What is not subjective is the following: 1) They did not arrive at the they were supposed to. 2) They walked into my house without permission (they claim they asked the lawn guys who do not speak English. 3) They gave my baby sitter a hard time when she reprimanded them for entering without permission. 4) They charge an un-Godly amount of money. 5) When I asked why the price was so high, the answer I got was that they had to clean the door in their truck. I will say that the guy John who answers the phone (and he does always answer the phone) is calm. He is just not reasonable. Here is what I think. The positive reviews seem to be from friends or relatives because they all have 2 or 3 reviews to their profile. Normal reviewers don't write like that.

Henry came in for the estimate and another round of measurements. He provided two options for us and showed plenty of examples on his iPad so we could see what it would look like. They were able to do everything for us within a week which was very appreciated because we couldn't use that shower in our house without the panel installed. Overall the install was very straightforward. Two guys came in to take care of it. They were polite and removed their shoes which I appreciated :) I can see the work is very precise and neat. I knocked off a star because we waited over an hour after our appt time for the estimate with no proper reason, and then on the day of the install someone called me saying they would be about 4 hours late. Two minutes later the install guys showed up. I think they need to do a better job of scheduling and coordinating calendars. In any case, once the work is done you don't have to worry about it again, so a little bit of hassle isn't the end of the world.
