That's what you get when you shop small, you're not grabbing something off a rack that many other people have. You're finding something that feels like it was made with you in mind. If you're familiar with shopping at boutiques you know the prices can be a little pricey but, you get what you pay for and the uniqueness is worth it. My daughter picked out a beautiful necklace for me that she said I had to have. Can't wait to wear it. I love that this is a women-owned business and they have a strong presence online. You can find them on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. If you're in Galveston and haven't popped in as yet, do yourself a favor and check them out.

It was disappointing because I was willing to support a small business and purchase a cute souvenir, but the experience left a negative impression.

I collect Christmas ornaments from all of the places we visit and I was able to find a cute palm tree ornament for under $10. I also found one to give to my daughter for taking care of my dogs while I was gone. They have tons of beach themed ornaments as well as many other kinds. The front part of the store has some really nice collectibles that are not Christmas themed. The ladies at the front counter were very nice, and they packed up our ornaments so they would not get broken. This is a very cute place to spend some time, and the margaritas a few doors down from them aren't bad either!

It's a bunch of moderately posh shops in a strip mall. This store just happens to be a stone's throw from a breastfeeding store. Imagine being a postpartum mom looking for solace in pretty French bed linens and fluffy towels. Imagine what your toddler will do to your carefully chosen organza and chiffon fabrics. Another stone's throw, and you'll see a Pea in the Pod store. I get it; this strip mall is for mommies and up and coming mommies. This is not the shop or strip mall for poor mommies, only rich mommies. This store also carries things for guys like me who love burning things--candles. Lots of exotically scented candles. Who doesn't love exotically scented candles? And fancy dishes. Who doesn't need a set of fancy dishes? I've never seen so many old fashioned cheeses spreaders and functional cheese trays. Stroll for long enough time in here, and you'll think everyone needs many old fashioned cheese spreaders and functional cheese trays. Kudos to the fun gal working when I went there. I asked her if I could write an out-of-state check, and she said, "Sure; it bounces, and I'll go to Chicago and snuff your candle out." What guy doesn't need their candle snuffed out?

Get an image in your head, and you'll be imagining this shop: white french linen. Linens, blankets, robes, pajamas, christening garb, books tucked here and there, pretty smelling candles, lotions, and infuser sets, and linen-covered furniture. Did I mention the sleeping dog? He (or she) is vigilantly napping while customers peruse. I was recently on a quest for a teapot, and lumbered into this shop wanting to leave no stone unturned. No luck with the teapot, but I did find some candles that I almost couldn't live without. There were also a few Lollia hand lotions that I refrained from buying...even the purse-sized one that I know I'll regret not having. At first glance, the prices seem a bit rich for items that appear very basic. This assumption is incorrect. The prices reflect the quality and the subtle embellishments. Simple, sweet, and classic.

Owners, Cayenne and Concho, (AKA Kelli Holmes and Don Hendrickson), have created an eclectic mix of Art, Apparel, Accents, and Accessories, all made by Texas Artisans and presented in a cool vibe slightly reminiscent of a retailer in in the Village of NYC during the 60's and 70's. Cayenne and Concho have sold my art for the past 5 years here and at a former location in ETX. This place is very unusual and lots of fun to explore, especially if you are looking for an eclectic experience outside of the similarities most retailers offer in most stores today. Cayenne, a creative powerhouse, makes a lot of the offerings herself, including a line of clothing called Filly Pepper. The clothing line is recycled form vintage and current pieces on which she paints, tie dyes and sews into one of a kind wearable art. She also creates decorated hats and jewelry as well as very unique 3 dimensional assemblage pieces filled with humor and complete originality. If you are in Galveston, don't miss this rare establishment. I guarantee it will be an EXPERIENCE.

The staff was wonderful too--friendly and helpful without being pushy or hovering while you shop, which I really appreciated. As for the pricing, it's reasonable for the brands they carry. I've seen the same pieces other places for either the same price or more. It came off very unprofessional. Then she kept walking past us asking us questions and it came off like she thought we were shoplifting. My niece tried on a swimsuit but didn't want it so my sister put it back on a shelf and we left. The energy in the store felt heavy because of how the brunette was acting so we didn't even keep looking and decided to leave. An hour later we are walking out of another store and here comes this brunette lady running across the store yelling at us making a big scene in front of all of these people asking where we put the swimsuit and so my sister had to follow her across the street back into the store to show her where she put the swimsuit. I can't believe that girl thought it was okay to approach the situation like that. Especially in front of so many people. She should be fired immediately.
