My husband and I landed on the "Thanksgiving Feast" menu to get us prepped and excited for the upcoming holidays. Our instructor, Stephanie, was wonderful! Took the time to explain technique and the "why" behind what we were doing, whereas, other classes are just running through a recipe. The format of these classes was really unique too. Instead of breaking off into smaller groups to cook individual meals, you work together as a class to cook a single meal. Once everything is all said and done, you sit down family-style and dig in! Needless to say, we had an incredible time, and are planning on incorporating some of the recipes into our own Thanksgiving tradition!

Yes these are high end balloons and wow do you get what you pay for. The custom balloon with my sisters name on it was HUGE and make the vibe perfect for the entrance. Sent an email was told they'd get back to me with a proposal, missed their own deadline. Sent another email to Nicole: "really don't appreciate the unprofessionalism. No response to my 2 internal request for a quote, I have to email you. Then your own deadline isn't met." Then Nicole asked me question some that I already answered in my initial requests. Clearly, no attentiveness or attention to detail. Sent me their basic cookie cutter event stuff. I didn't want their cookie cutter display stuff from their website. I wanted a quote for something unique. I answered her email questions then an Ali responses saying "Nicole is out of the office until Monday." She went on to tell me "12 days is enough for us to accommodate your requests." I don't think they could handle my request. As Nicole previously stated, "I sincerely apologize for the delay and completely understand your frustration. You're right that I had given you a timeline, and I'm sorry that I wasn't able to meet it or communicate the delay with you sooner. We are currently in the height of our busiest season, and our response and proposal lead times have unfortunately been longer than usual. That being said, I should have kept you updated rather than leaving you waiting. I am working on your decks and will have it over to you today. I really appreciate your patience and apologize again for the frustrating experience." I asked for the CEO, or person in charge of the business, and I was ignored. It was more than just seeing the beautiful Rookery Building. It was very interesting to learn about the historical significance of the building and the architects involved with its design. Our tour guide, Jennifer, was excellent and her passion about the topic was clear. The tour is well-worth the time, and you are taken to see the Oriel Staircase and the Burnham Library at the upper levels.

I've been doing genealogy for years and recently hit some standstills. Today, after several of research, I came across their bookstore as I was leaving. It's super cute and I thought I might find something interesting. I did!! In the back left nook area there is a Book Fair section. Used books which have been categorized and were all in super decent shape. Cooking section... I found 4 cookbooks. Each was over 1,000 pages except one, it had almost 800. Hardcovers and in incredibly good shape! I paid $5 each for 3 of them and $6 for another. They had their jacket sleeves too. So heavy to schlep home but totally worth it! They had some pretty fantastic historical books, as well. I encourage you to stop into this beautiful building, get a free library access card, and also checkout their bookstore on main level (directly to the right once you enter into the building).

My husband and I got married at the Joinery in July of this year and from start to finish, it was everything we dreamed of. As soon as we toured, we knew it was the place. From the various curated spaces offered, the Mill House and the apartment, it was perfect for our intimate celebration. From the time we set a date to the actual day of the wedding, the Joinery continued to make improvements and upgrades to their spaces which is so amazing to see.
