I fell in love with a kitten online, but there was already an applicant ahead of me, so I resigned myself to accepting I probably wasn't going to get him. But Pam was so great - she stayed in constant communication with me, and when she hadn't heard back from the other applicant in two days, she emailed me at 10pm to say I had first dibs (which I feel is fair) and that she'd make sure the kitten was at the adoption event for me to come see the next afternoon. So we headed over to Pet Valu in Clifton to meet the kitten and adored him right away. Kristen was so sweet, helpful and genuinely happy to see that one of her kittens had found a new home. She provided us with tons of info and advice, along with a Pet Valu adoption coupon kit. Their vetting process is pretty standard; you fill out an application with details about your living situation, current pets etc. In the final stages, you sign a contract promising not to declaw and that you'll send them proof of having the kitten spayed/neutered. The experience was quite painless (unlike interactions I've had in the past with some larger/more well-known rescue groups), and these women are doing a fantastic job. I've had ragdoll cats before, but this was my first experience in getting a kitten. Sadie, the owner of Rumi Ragdolls, is phenomenal. She clearly runs this business as a labor of love. She will investigate your needs and match you up with the best cat possible. I have a 19 year old ragdoll retired breeder--Sapphire. I had to euthenize her feline friend (she had formed a massive arterial blood clot and was in terrible pain), so I had to quickly find Sapphire a new companion as ragdolls are very social animals. I knew sapphire would not do well alone during my long hours at work. Unfortunately, no retired breeders that would be a good match seemed to be available at the time. This is when I decided upon getting a kitten. It ended up being 2 kittens-they were able to play and wear each other out, and I think this worked better for Sapphire. It was challenging to find a kitten with a personality that would mesh well with a 19 year old cat, and a very energetic kitten (from a different cattery). Even with this bizarre circumstance, Sadie somehow worked her magic. Based upon my unique situation, she recommended a seal bicolor kitten who was calm, super affectionate, and seemed to have a knack for "looking after" the runts of the litter. His name is now Toven, and I cannot imagine life without him. Sadie provided me the education I needed to successfully care for a kitten, and how to successfully integrate him into my household. She made recommendations for products, food, care, and bathing. Once I got Toven and he settled in, it was very clear that Rumi Ragdolls spent a lot of time to nurture and train their kittens. Toven is very well behaved, has had no issues with the litter box, and has never damaged any furniture. When sapphire had to undergo anesthesia for a dental procedure, she was confused, terrified, and unable to walk when she got home. Toven laid down in front of her carrier and put his paw to the door to calm her down. He did this for a few hours until the effects of the anesthesia wore off. Sadie was right-he was the perfect match for my household. He did very well when my nephews were visiting, and he even did well with my brother's dog. There was some hissing at first, but Toven responded well to cuddles and reassurance. The next thing I knew, he was nose to nose with the dog, playing with his toys, and playing with the dog's tail. I was also very impressed with how well he handles grooming-he actually seems to enjoy getting a bath. He purrs during the bathing process, and he is calm and cooperative when I trim his claws. I have never seen a cat before who cooperated with getting bathed, claws trimmed, and a hygienic trim of his rear fur. Furthermore, when you purchase a kitten from Rumi Ragdolls, you have lifelong support for any issues and ongoing recommendations or education you may require to keep your kitten happy and healthy. Sadie is also happy to receive the occasional picture and keeps in touch to check on how everyone is doing. I never expected so much support or compassion in this process. He was worth every penny.

Our dog is 1 years old, and we still have issues…read more we went to their recommended vet after purchasing, and we ended up having to put the puppy on several medications. we had to do a follow up, and he still had issues. we decided to go to our regular vet, and again, more medications was needed. by this time, we invested quite a bit trying to resolve the issues. eventually we resolved this issue. they claim these puppies come from reputable breeders. these dogs and their parents are not properly tested. we just had his 1 year checkup, and now we are told he is missing several teeth. that is genetic, and should have been disclosed by the "breeder". for the prices they charge, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND going to a certified breeder. going into puppy stores is difficult. it's hard not to fall in love with a pup, and purchase it. I have learned an expensive lesson. I believe these pups are from backyard breeders, who just want to make a quick buck.

We have also boarded our dogs there for the weekend when we needed to go on a trip, and they always get nail trims and the option of baths or other services. Most recently, l've come back to this VCA because of Dr Keeley being Fear Free Certified. Olivia is also wonderful with my dogs, no matter if they're fearful or reactive. HOWEVER, if this review didn't include them, it'd be absolutely 0 stars for my interactions with their administration vet assistant Cassidy. She contradicts processes that I've been told by other admin staff leading to confusion, is unkind to my animals, is rude to fellow staff including speaking badly about them to me while they're out of the room, and is not communicative at all to other staff members or owners leading to confusion and a generally off-putting experience. I have no issue at all if there's an appointment running long & we need to reschedule for another time or something like that - I have an issue with how she speaks to people, staff & owners alike. Telling an owner things you don't like about the vet or vet tech is really inappropriate and needs to be handled without involving clients. I've been to so many VAs and never had this awful of an interaction, even leading to confrontation. If not for Olivia and Dr Keeley, I would've stopped coming here because I don't want Cassidy near my animals or me or frankly in any customer/client-facing role.

The people that were working in boarding all week seem to not be working in boarding normally and being pulled from other departments for lack of employees. We didn't get any updates on our dog unless we called. We were given attitude by several people. I expected more considering they're the professionals with animals, but they made it seem as though they were being inconvenienced by housing my dog. The final candle on the cake was when I went to pick him up and a male brought him out, which says clearly in his chart that no men are supposed to bring him out. So at this point, it appears as though no one at VCA cares about the well-being of my animal or the safety of their employees.

We get great reports and photos from them after their walks.
