The massage chairs are always super clean and work really well. I also appreciate how clean the locker room is, and that there is a sauna available for women only. That makes me so much more comfortable and prone to use that surface. I feel like this gym in general is super inclusive, and cultivate spaces for different personalities. I enjoy the dark room, where they always play a movie. It makes my workout feel more private, & helps me regulate when I'm feeling overstimulated. I also like the outdoor weight area. It's never as crowded as the indoor area. I also like that you can feel the fresh air while working out.

Certain staff are clearly homophobic. Aria [overnight staff] has made threats to call police with no foundation whatever. Other staff issues surround Mariana and Astrid. I made an inquiry into 'staff friendliness' and about 'freezing my account' and was told a member would reach out to address the issue within 48 hours. More than 5 days passed with no resolution and my account was frozen without notice. I had to speak--cumbersomely I might add--to Christian [GM], and two other staff members before issues were adequately addressed.

Joining a gym was not appealing, so I decided private training sessions would be worth the investment to successfully support my health and weight management goals. I was grateful to find Pilates and Fitness in Powell, and when I met the owner...I was sold. Sarah is my training angel! She's an incredibly knowledgeable trainer who is focused, smart, funny and kind. Her deep understanding of exercise and the body's reaction to movement continues to amaze me. She's non-judgmental and simply wants to help her clients be and do their best. My 1:1 workouts with Sarah are designed for my abilities and goals and are varied, appropriately challenging, and interesting. I quickly gained confidence and she was able to accommodate and support some physical issues that remained from a major surgery. I do both Pilates (on a real Reformer, love it) and fitness workouts during the same session. Sarah walks the talk--she's in phenomenal shape herself but understands that after a certain age (ahem) bodies do change. I've been training with Sarah for the last year and a half and can't recommend her highly enough.
