I purchased the practice tests. The website constantly goes down. Was down for around 24 hours at one point. While you are doing the practice tests it constantly freezes and you have to click the answer over and over to get it to move forward (my internet connection is over 200Mbps so more than enough to load a multiple choice test). It constantly gives you error codes and brings up 404 not found pages, 502 bad gateway pages, and when it does analysis it always says it is an issue with the CSLS website. I mentioned it on the chat on their website one day after it had happened a few times and they didn't respond for quite some time and when they did respond all the said was something like "the website is back up" and nothing else. The next day it went down again around the same time and I asked about it in the chat again and mentioned that it had happened around the same time the day before and their answer was something like "just be patient, it will be back up in a bit". Never apologized or gave any explanation. When it had been down for 24 hours I called their customer service line and when I told the woman who answered the phone that the website was down she said something like "it's back up now" (as if I would be calling if it was up). I refreshed my page and big surprise it was still down. I said "I just refreshed the page and it is still down". After I said that she said nothing and disconnected me. Seriously what is going on with this place??? Website always down, people telling you to "just be patient", never apologizing, disconnecting you without saying anything. Definitely won't use them again. read more

Don't do it. Don't pay TONS of money to have some person (not a trained intructor) read to you from the code book. You can read it yourself. I took 2 coarses and bothe were LAME! Never went over any questions with the professional they hired to read to us and wasted so many hours just sitting there BORED out my mind when we could have been utilizing his knowledge to review practice questions. Don't waste your time. I have Had Good Luck with their services, until I didn't. I expected them to be stand up and live up to their words, but alas, they won't. I have achieved 2 licenses with them. The third I missed by 5 points. The day before the exam I checked the testing site for required/allowable materials. They required the main text/code book. Coolness, I know it front and back. AND two other manuals??? What the ever living fuk!!?? I contacted the school and they blew it foof as don't worry there is only one question of that material on the test. WRONG, 10. Sigh ok, here now is where the school has Really Fukked up. They used to have an intro message on their voice intro on the phone (paraphrasing it) "Welcome to Contractor State Licensing School, where we gaurentee a 99% passing rate, for your exam the First time, or we pay for the next" I contacted my Counselor after my failure, yes 70% is a Fail. After my exam. Nothing, no reply at all. Emailed. Texted, Called the School. NOTHING for TWO weeks. I got ahold of Graig this morning.. Oh your Counselor has been out for personal reasons.. OK I can accept that. When i broached the subject about the retest fee, Oh no no no, We don't do that, no no no, we only gaurentee that you can pass OUR tests the first time and find the answer in 90 seconds, What???????? What the ever living fuk does that mean? and What would? How/ why? would pay for another test? That makes NO FKKG Sense?? Nope CSLS does not stand by their word. Don't trust them at all. Waste of money. The review materials and practice tests are extremely dated.. it seemed like the practice tests and review materials were pertinent to the 1970-80's. Update your content and correct the many spelling, ambiguities and grammatical errors or give up the business. Practice test questions have wrong answers that just leave you scratching your head and leave you second guessing yourself. None of the review materials or practice tests were relevant to the actual test. I passed, no thanks to this rip off course! Do better or stop stealing people's money. TOTAL SCAM!! read more

When I first went to csls it was great I've done everything they asked me to I faxed and emailed everything they asked me to I didn't hear from them until a month later was told to rewrite my work experience and I did but when I call or email I don't get a call back or I get an email saying that they can't get to my email at this time it's amazing how I got a response when I was trying to find out if I rewrote everything right but they can't tell me if I did it correctly I've called the west Covina school and they pick up and hang up they took my money with no problem but when I tried to get feed back unfortunately there is a problem they are supposed to return a call in 24 hours it's been two weeks and no return call back I feel like I'm being ripped off and I'm unfortunately I'm still dealing with the csls from my point of view this is not a professional business , I'm still dealing with this school so far my experience is very upsetting read more

This school is a complete scam. They are there to take your money and not teach you anything. They have old material that will not help you pass the state exam. They find every single way to charge you money. I had to review my application with a counselor, but was told that would cost me money. UPDATE!!! - 3rd review Mr Santana just called me back minutes from my 2nd post. He promised a couple of things and i said i shall be reviving a something in the mail within 5 days! I will keep you updated as soon as i receive this to confirm his resolution and make you all aware of the conclusion of this matter. (those several days he took to look into the matter weren't very useful i see) he went on to say he will try to upkeep the school's reputation and will look into refunding me only - - - - - - - $300 - - - - - - - out of over $800 i payed for adrian gonzales mistake. he claims there were cost involved to have me attend a math review class that pretty much reminds you how to add subtract and divide. (ridiculous) and other evening classes that don't cover anything off hand they just review book work what you should have worked during the week. he also claimed the book (not books) one 3 ring binder with paper copies of the original/master book was very expensive to make and it will also cut in into that balance. i told him the book was in perfect condition! no papers where written on nor destroyed. the dvd's that come in that book, which is a general c-36 (that any other student can use) where in their original casing and had not 1 scratch in them. all he said was; "nah, those are your books!" i told him i would not settle for $300 for such a horrible customer experience and poor schooling.! (read other reviews about this place! other students say its horrible schooling as well) he than began to mention how they can uphold the contract i singed and not offer me anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a contract i singed in hopes of a better financial future and self employment freedom. a contract i was tricked into signing by their sales rep who i'm sure enjoyed his commission very much!!!! he wants me to forfeit over $500 over a copy binder and poor schooling. i did not agree. i told hm i would settle for $700 for their mistake and not a cent less! and i wont!! it is unacceptable! adrian gonzales should pay those used up fee's for not doing his job the right, honest, and honorable way!!! mr. santana will call me today at 5pm pacific (so he said). he will look into trying to get those $700 approved and will give me a call back as a result. i hope he honestly tries his best cause i wont settle for less and only than can i and all my yelp readers see the customer satisfaction they have and how they can act accordingly to a mistake of one of their own and make it right! the honest way!! don't be money hungry and have it stain your reputation!! will keep you updated soon! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
