Dr. Contos takes the time to explain proper oral hygiene, listens to patients concerns and answers their questions. He is conservative with treatments and does not recommend unnecessary procedures. He is genuinely concerned about his patience overall oral health. My office visits are professional and efficient. I recommend him to all my friends and coworkers. read more

Mariah Delgado's conduct has frequently come across as rude and disrespectful. Interactions are often marked by dismissive language, unprofessional tone, and a lack of basic courtesy. The company needs to discuss this behavior with its dental assistant. read more

Dr. Peter Contos and his whole team are hands down the best dental staff I've ever had - and I always HATED going to the dentist, so that says a lot. Dr. Contos and both of his assistants were so gentle, yet thorough, and made sure I was comfortable and informed throughout the whole visit. There was never any pressure to opt in to procedures, and I was given a detailed price estimate of all offered procedures. I had some cavities filled and had to do it without laughing gas due to my pregnancy, which I had never done before, but I barely felt a thing, and was at ease for the entire procedure due to the caring nature of the staff. As a bonus, the receptionist is so kind and personable. She remembered me after 1 visit. Thank you, Contos Smile Center! read more

High quality experience for me. I have sensitive teeth and they are extremely gentle. Dr. Contos genuinely cares about my dental health and gives me good advice. I like and appreciate how clean and organized their office is. I referred my mother-in-law and she had a very good experience also. She required some serious dental work and they really helped her. read more

I've been coming to Dr. Contos for over 10 years. It's easy to get a Saturday appointment, and they take all kinds of insurance. Near Devon & California, they do have some parking in the back. They have recently remodeled the offices so they are bright, clean, and have little flat screen tvs in all of the rooms. I got to see Portugal defeat England today while getting my teeth cleaned! Fluent in English and Greek. read more

I've had several dentists in my life but Dr. Contos (and every member of the Contos group) is by far the best! Thank you Dr. Contos and to all of the members of this group for your wonderful service. The care and the kindness that you've shown me is ineffable. read more

I don't often bother to leave reviews, but Contos deserves it. If you have ANY sort of dental anxiety, this is exactly where you need to be. I've never had a dentist explain things so thoroughly to me before, in such a caring way, completely understanding and respectful of my feelings. I don't worry about getting any procedures done here because I trust them to listen and take care of me, and that's coming from someone who's had full-blown panic attacks before cavity fillings in the past. Everyone who works at Contos is so nice, including the receptionists and assistants... Basically I left there swearing I'll never go anywhere else for dental care as long as I'm in Chicago. read more

I had never posted a yelp comment before this one. I felt compelled to recommend this dental practice to everyone based on my experiences with them. Also, I find yelp reviews to be very helpful, so I thought I should start contributing. The Contos' provide the best dental care that I have ever received. They are extremely thorough and truly aim to make your dental experience as pleasant as possible. I recently had a baby and my gums were very sore. Dr. Maria Contos was very careful to make sure she was sensitive to my situation. You feel as if you are at a dental spa in this office. The dentists have a very relaxing affect while they are providing excellent care. This place has a warm, family feel. They have uplifting personalities and truly care about their patients. The staff deserves kudos as well for their attention to detail and for keeping my very active 2 yr old son entertained with coloring activities while I am in the dental chair. I highly recommend this practice to others. You will not be disappointed. I have been a patient of all of the dentists in this practice and you cannot go wrong with making an appointment with any of them. You will be surprised at how great you feel when you leave this office....my teeth feel so so clean and appear much whiter. read more

I was seeing doctor Contos for over 6 years. He is a great guy, great dentist!!! However, it seems like since they expanded the service is not the same there. I was once given a cleaning by a lady that did not even know how to clean teeth. They let me have another one for free but still... I have a different dentist!!! Another things.. they are overly priced!! Prices like that don't exist even in the loop offices read more

Both my wife and I have seen Peter Contos recently and have found him to be the best dentist ever! He's got a great personality, caring and friendly, and he gives clear details as for what he is doing while working on one's mouth. In my case I had cavities and since they were not deep he actually let me try going forward without novacaine or whatever else they use. No dentist has done this before and it was a huge success. No messed up mouth for hours! We did not have a bad experience with the staff as other have here, they were great. My wife was an hour late and they still fit her in and we're welcoming when she was a new client. The office is immaculate and full of magazines. Everything about our experience was five stars! read more

My experiences with dentists have usually entailed a language barrier, time restraints and strange walks through makeshift hallways and elevators... This place is more than welcoming, attractive, clean and professional. I initially rejected the idea of making my appointment and only walked in for moral support. After feeling so comfortable I decided to allow the team of experts to sign me in. I used a living social deal and got the whole shabang!!! Full x-rays, complete exam and a cleaning for 148.00! The staff here get 2 thumbs up and after my amazing cleaning, more than a smile. I received a 50$ referral bonus as well, so I got an additional service. AUHHHHMAAZING!!! Please say we referred you and get your 50$ off. Will be back for my follow up in October. read more

Got referred here by 1 800 Dentist for an emergency toothache. They worked to slip me into the schedule and got me in the chair, verified my coverage and took good care of me. I had a BAD cavity that the quickly triaged and performed the 1st 1/2 of a root canal this PM. They were sensitive while not being overly serious. Explained everything well, seemed concerned for my well-being and very polite. I have been avoiding finding a dentist (hence the cavity), but I've found mine now. read more

I've gone to Dr. Contos for a few years now. I was extremely happy with his work on my teeth. I recommended a few people to Dr. Contos because of his service and his attention to detail. Nowadays it seems that Dr. Contos and his staff has a more robotic approach. Since my last visit (Nov 3, 2014) my opinion with his dental practice has done a 180. My appointment started 9 am. I filled out the usual questionnaire and then was being seated afterwards. It started with a cleaning and update of my dental records (X-rays) at 9am then a filling at 10am. At 9 am the dental hygienist was done by Bethanne. Bethanne reviewed my new X-rays and said there was no new cavities. She did satisfactory work on my teeth with gentle care. I did not care for the questions she asked me before hand. I'm aware what I need to do to have clean, white, healthy teeth. I met Dr. Contos at 10 am, had some small talk, and he began examining my mouth. The tooth that needed a small filling he wanted to do a crown. I opposed and requested a implant be put instead. The reason being is that I'm looking at this long term. Once the implant is in (unless the implant breaks) that tooth doesn't need to be worked on again. Dr. Contos disagreed with me and wants to "save the tooth". Dr. Contos wants to save the tooth by putting a crown on and then maybe about 5 to 10 years down line put a implant in. To me that doesn't make any sense. Put the implant in and be done with it. He was looking for me to agree with him but I couldn't. This is my mouth and I decide what's going to happen to it. After that stiff conversation, he was reviewing the tooth that he has done previously. He told me that an infection was forming at the bottom of the root canal. The post he installed need to be pulled out and needed to be cleaned at the bottom of the canal. I asked him how could it be infected you did the work on it and you fully cleaned it out. He gave me vague answers and never wanted to say he didn't fully cleaned it. This concerned me. How could my dentist that I enjoy going to not own up to this. People mess up that's understandable but trying to say that it's cause because of me is unacceptable. The infection was forming at the bottom of the post he installed not at the top. Remember now the dental hygienist told me my mouth look great. He also wanted to do a crown on that side but you know where I stand on that. He did want to put a implant in the space where I lost the tooth. His cost is $3500. This would be done with multiple visits. I ask him that other places were charging $1000 for an implant. He responded by saying that he puts more care and avoid infections this way. I chuckled a little when he said that. This is the same guy that didn't fully clean out my root canal is justifying me paying $3500 for the added care. When he finish my filling I notice that he used a different type of filling composite. It wasn't the same filling he used on my other teeth. It seem to me that he put in a cheaper composite in hoping for a return visit. At that point I was very disappointed with my entire visit. On the way out I talked with receptionist and we tallied up my bill. Before she gave it to me she told me if I recommended any one to them that I'll received a $50 referral. She gave me 2 weeks and then the referral would expire. I started laughing. You want me to help you out and I got 2 weeks otherwise I don't get? She then said not to worry about it ...that it doesn't pertain to me. Too funny. Then why say it in the first place. I mention to her what about the other referrals that I gave them. I gave her 4 names at the top of my head. I need to remind you about the referrals now... I said? She used two referrals and gave me a $100 dollars off. Not sure why she didn't give me the other two. The bill was not correct and she was suppose to email me the new bill. Still haven't received it. I did get two surveys on my experience at Dr. Contos practice. At that point it was clear to me that I needed to find a new dentist. A dentist that is caring and won't play games with my mouth and money. What a shame. P.S. They start charging you if you miss a schedule appointment. = read more

I had been seeing Dr Contos senior for almost 30 years and he always did a wonderful work . About a year ago I got a dental insurance that didn't cover Doctor Contoses services and what a big mistake. I tried 4 other dentists and it was a complete disaster. One was worse than another. After each procedure I seemed to develop more and more problems and finally I said this is it I am done trying and I went back to Dr Contos regardless of whether or not he accepted my insurance because I could not longer allow other dentists cause nothing but problems. After all their work I now need 2 root canals and my teeth were in horrible pain when I finally said enough is enough and went back to Dr Contos agc he was able to see me on the sane day for emergency tooth pain and do a practically painless root canal on the same day and I am no longer in pain. I will never go anywhere else but time Dr Contos. When you do online recearch it is really hard because 3 dentists I went to had good ratings but did a horrible job and hurt me while numbing which Dr Contos never did. Trust me Dr. Contos and his son Peter are the real deal. The best out there ! read more

Dr Contos (senior) seems very skilled and in tune with his patients needs. HOWEVER, I found the front office staff unhelpful and somewhat deceptive. They wanted me to sign a HIPAA waiver but couldn't provide me with a policy (they gave me a template worksheet instead), they couldn't provide me with standard costs until AFTER the work was complete - it was a 'we know best, don't bother us attitude' that made me leave this practice. If they got rid of the front office staff, I might return, but I can't see a Dentist when I can't trust his staff. read more

Probably the best experience I've ever had with a dentist and his staff. To start off I was referred by 1800 dentist and the lady I was connected to at the office was extremely sweet and accommodating. I was able to get a same day appointment without feeling like I was some sort of burden. I had seen another dentist who said I needed a root canal and Dr. Contos even confirmed that with the X-ray done at his office. Once he started working he realized it wasn't a root canal but rather just a complicated cavity and continue on to take care of it that way instead of just continuing on with the original plan. He involved me in his decision making and kept me informed of what he was doing. Overall great experience and will most definitely be bringing family here. read more

I have to say this dental group is one of the best! I had several problems with my teeth and had been to a few dentists throughout my life. I was always afraid to smile because of the way my teeth looked. In addition I had problem with my jaw and none of the dentists I had been to previously could correct and eleviate my jaw pain. I went to the Contos center and have been CURED of any pain. All my teeth were evaluated and fixed properly. They added a couple of crowns, corrected my bite and made my mouth feel 100% better. I have never been happier in my life. I have no more pain. All three Doctors at the Contos Smile Center there are excellent and I do recommend them to anyone who is looking for the best. read more

As a registered nurse I am constantly emphasizing the importance of dental health to my patients but did not take my own advice. I was experiencing extreme pain and discomfort for a few weeks for what I thought to be related to my teeth. I have not seen a dentist for quite some time and was petrified at the thought of having to receive dental work. The pain became so unbearable that I called the office to make an appointment. Recognizing that I was in so much discomfort they fit me into the schedule the same day. Turns out it was TMJ and I was not going to have to endure any invasive dental procedures. The staff at this office, especially Casey and Brenda, are knowledgeable, friendly, and took the time to explain what they were doing. Dr. Contos was going to go out of town and was concerned that I may experience more discomfort while he was away so he gave me a referral to see another dentist just in case. As a registered nurse I understand the importance of having trust in your health care providers and can honestly say I developed that trust with the first visit. They are passionate about what they do and it shows in how they treat their patients. read more
