Visiting other countries, when possible, I like to try chains to experience the regional items that aren't offered at home. So, one morning, my friend and I took a walk out towards the beach to the nicest McDonald's I've ever been to. And I've been to more than I can count all around the world. I know this is funny to hear considering I really don't eat fast food. So, now you know more about me. The location is right across the beach. It's so close you can see the sand and water. If the waves were crashing on the shore, you'd hear it too. There's both indoor and outdoor seating so you can enjoy the scenery if you like. And there's enough seating on two levels that you could be there and still feel like you're eating there alone. Not only was this the nicest and cleanest McDonald's I've ever been to, the service was top-notch. You can order on kiosks or in person. And I can't speak for every day, but the day my friend and I visited, there was an English speaking person there who made ordering for me a breeze. Even the staff who didn't speak English was friendly, helpful and patient. Food was made and served fresh and quick. Here's where I'd be telling you to go see my pics but I guess I didn't post them on Yelp. You'd have to go to my other social media site to find them. I feel the food was standard though it's hard for me to say because I don't eat McDonald's regularly enough to be able to give a fair comparison. I can say, it was good enough that I ate it all. And bonus, I didn't get sick. Now, we walked there so I didn't look for parking but I did see a drive thru. Second, it's extremely clean and has new furnishings. The food is fine. I mean it's fast food though they do have some regional items. A little online searching, though, yielded this gem. I am absolutely smitten with the place! It is fairly small... perhaps 25-30 seats. There is one wait staff and one chef. Yes - a chef at a "burger joint." This young man really takes pride in what he does - and it shows! From hand slicing the locally sourced potatoes daily, to crafting each burger when it is ordered... using all fresh and local ingredients. Wait until you see the attention he provides to preparing a salad! This is true craftsmanship. The menu here varies regularly depending on what fresh products are available. We'd hoped for an appetizer of summer squash tempura, which was not available. Instead the chef made incredibly thin slices of fresh eggplant; dipped in a freshly-made batter and fried perfectly... then he drizzled it with a hint of balsamic reduction and some sesame seeds.
