Adequate, more or less clean, but certainly not anything special. Our room had two beds, my friend and I both slept reasonably well so I suppose the beds were comfortable enough for what we needed. The lighting in the room was a little bit older, but it served its purpose. The furnishings were also a little bit worn in. I suspect the people that typically stay here don't have an issue with such things, but you could tell the items in the room were all a little bit long in the tooth. Check-in went more or less OK, although the staff seemed a bit bewildered and disorganized. It was cute when we were handed actual keys. Such a novelty to have actual keys instead of key cards in this day and age. We had to use their little dropbox to turn the keys in when we left early the following morning. This was fine of course but I would've appreciated being told about it in advance. On balance I don't think this would be my first choice for a stay again in the future. read more

My son was stationed on the Mackinaw for 3 years, so on a return trip home, we wanted to stop in Cheboygan for a night. I have fond memories of this place. Other guests at that hotel made for a miserable night, smoking and drinking into the wee hours outside their room directly below us. Complete with a drunken brawl at one point. I also had an issue getting a hold of staff in the morning when I accidentally left something behind when we left. We'd left the key in the room, as instructed. Fortunately, I was able to retrieve it because we forgot to close the door all the way; there no one in the office until 9 am and calls to both numbers posted for help before then weren't answered. Very accommodating staff. We were in a pinch and went out of their way to Accommodate us. Even recommending a local restaurant. In today's world, it's hard to find such good customer service. Rooms were clean, updated and well decorated. i would recommend this hotel to anyone passing thru, close to the bridge. With a nice pool for kids. Great price for the area! read more

I am giving them 5 stars because this is a small town family business. We had a room that had a main area with a bed then an additional bedroom with another bed. The only air conditioner was in the bedroom and it was pretty warm the weekend we went so we had to crank it up and keep the door open on that room in order to keep cool in the main room. The pool isn't open yet, but it is only because the fence around the pool came down in a recent storm I believe and they are waiting on it to be repaired. Honestly the weather wasn't that great when we were there and we pool hopped indoor pools in Mackinac. Room was clean and staff was friendly. read more

The bed was comfortable but it is downhill after that. Bathroom: dirty floors, dried urine behind toilet seat, mildew in all the shower/bath grouting and a slow shower drain. Bedroom: damp s carpeting, smells like fish. We traveled with a second couple, their room was worse. All this for about $170 an night. read more

My husband and I stayed for 4 days in June and it was very nice. Older motel but it was very well kept and clean. Very good price and the owner Doris and her staff were very friendly and accommodating to us. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, doughnuts or rolls every morning in the office lobby fo us guests. We plan on going back next summer and staying there again. read more

Recently stayed here while in town searching for property...very comfortable stay and very friendly owner. Priced more than reasonable. Very clean and well maintained. Property was built years ago but has been maintained... So don't book thinking you're getting a room in Vegas... It's not Vegas is Cheboygan, Michigan. The good: The staff was welcoming, and it's nice thought to have coffee/tea/hot chocolate 24/7. The continental breakfast isn't much, but with it being a small hotel at a lower nightly rate, I would hope one wouldn't expect a huge gesture. But little muffins as a snack out the door are appreciated. It's 15 from Mackinaw which is nice, but next time I might spend a little more to stay closer to town. It was tough this weekend with car shows and other events to find a place under $220/night. The not so good: Though the beds are comfy, it's very hard as a non smoker to sleep in a room that smells strongly of stale smoke. It seems at point it was a smoking room as the curtains were yellowed, and the AC unit air was musty. Two big concerns were the broken outlets and the lack of a smoke detector. Now, in the case of fire, yes I could get out fast enough. But still, brings up concerns about what else is not up to code. For $115/night (including taxes), I expected a little more. read more

DOES NOT HONOR PREPAID RESERVATIONS! Buyer Beware! I booked and paid for this motel and IMMEDIATLY drove 15 miles in twenty four minutes to be told that there were no rooms available. When I showed the confirmation email I was told to ask hotels.com for a refund! It took a half hour of waiting on the phone to have hotels.com confirm what Continental did to me. I then had to drive 28 miles in the opposite direction to get a room. This is not an honorable way to do business. read more

Sweet staff very welcoming. Bring a pillow mine seemed hard as rocks, bring earplugs I swear the person that was pacing upstairs all night may as well been a elephant walking around. Rooms have a weird odor I think it's from the old wooden dressers. Shower had great water pressure and good size tub. TV albeit a newer smart TV the picture was really dark with no way to adjust it that I could find on the remote. The rooms are good size just very dated. Also the in room phone didn't work. It is within walking distant of a lot of things. Rates are low for summer. I hope they do some upgrades, they are such a nice staff. read more

I have no idea what these other people are talking about but our room was not even ok for 150/night. Our bedding and pillow cases were stained and the front dest lady was very rude. I will never bring my family back here to stay and I would never ever recommend this place to anyone. read more
