I found myself in a terrible…read morebind when my prior tax preparer attempted to extort me for returns he learned I needed to secure a mortgage the following week. In a panic, I found Lauren here on Yelp, and even though she was clearly up to her ears in work (it was mid-March!), she felt so bad about what this other accountant had done that she squeezed me in as a client, working with me late on a Friday night to get my returns done. Had she simply been willing to help a stranger out in a pinch, that would have earned my long-term loyalty. But it was much more than that: Lauren does incredible, thorough work. I'm self-employed via an S-Corp I own, and not only did she expertly navigate a combination of complex business and personal returns for both federal and state taxes, but she discovered mistakes my previous accountant had made, saving me significant money. And she did it all incredibly quickly and efficiently. Just a consummate pro in every way. Plus, she's hilarious and cool and smart as hell. Hiring Lauren is just one of the best decisions I've ever made. If you're looking for someone to work with, stop your search here. Lauren's as good as it gets.

Definitely not a good sign. My husband is self employed and contacted Ms. Sam to help with our business and personal tax preparations. Ms. Sam was responsive to us initially, and as time passed we have yet to hear back from her. We have real concerns with this company and started calling and leaving her messages along with emails to find out where we were at with our taxes. In the beginning we gave Ms. Sam the benefit of the doubt because it was tax season, and one would only assume that any accountant worth their salt would be extremely busy at this tme of the year, right?! Our patience began waring, and as time has passed (Months) we continue to call and leave messages asking her to please contact us. It has been months since our last conversation with Ms. Sam, thus leaving us in a precarious situation with our tax filing. She has all of our financial information which is not cool at all and leaves me contemplating our next step ... This has been the worst experience with someone who has just completely ghosted us for no apparent reason whatsoever ?! Not to mention, her unprofessionalism at it's worst when her business success solely relies on satisfied paying customers, not to mention her reputation as well! If anyone out there has had a similar situation with Ms. Sam, or if someone has retained her services very recently or even knows how to reach her ... please post it. As I review the five other posted comments and see the dates of review ... I have only myself to blame. Lesson learned!

Would not recommend after meeting with Tara M. For my 2023…read moretax return Rose was great to work with, where she explained things in detail. Value was comparable to other accountants. Though I had many recommendations and referrals for other accountants, I chose to work with Rose because I chose to specifically support a woman and minority owned business. One piece of advice from Erin Benzakein from Floret about hiring a bookkeeper and accountant was that if you feel dumb or awful after meeting with either, then it's time for you to hire a new accountant/bookkeeper. I was having a hard time managing my own bookkeeping and was inquiring about this service. I met with Tara and she was condescending, defensive, and was gaslighting me when I started crying on the call after she went on a diatribe about the importance of bookkeeping. I also disagreed with her statement that "Bookkeeping is the backbone of your business." Unfortunately, Rose was also on the call and there wasn't any intervention. I would recommend Rose Brown only if you were just working with her and Darin, but would stay away if you are on a call with Tara.
