He left $56,500 worth of cabinetry in the sweltering heat and humidity in Florida 'Beverly Hillbilly' style with over 100 degree heat index and forecasted storms without my prior consent or knowledge that he didn't schedule his installer to arrive for more than a week away! He drove off without even mentioning that detail. EVERY single cabinet was either damaged, mismeasured, built to the wrong specifications, missing shelves, drawers, door fronts, pullouts, or return panels!!! I've been left with no choice other than to bring the details and the facts to the court for a matter of public record and not public opinion. These photos speak for themselves otherwise. Update: 6/27/23 in response to Owner - Refer to all photos on all review sites for what Jamie considers "above and beyond", "complete", and damage resulting from "all necessary precautions to protect your cabinets" and decide for yourself if this is the level of service or craftsmanship you expect when spending $56,000... Also, he IS YOUR employee and installer, you delivered the cabinets in HIS dump trailer covered in a tarp with no packing materials, YOU scheduled him to come down for install and recover his dump trailer, and you REIMBURSED him for his travel expenses. The Magicians of Home Repair: How Alexander Contracting Saved Our 30-Year-Old Home…read more I don't even know how to share the stellar, stellar experience I had with Alexander Contracting in a way that will even remotely do them justice. I suppose I'll start at the very beginning. Our residence was severely impacted by the crazy winter weather. Due to the cold and snow, we had an ice dam. Up until this point, we were very fortunate to not need major house repairs. The residence is over thirty years old and for the most part has been well kept. That changed when the ice storms hit. The inside of our home became an Ohio version of Niagara Falls which had me getting rather impressive cardio running back and forth with pots, buckets and towels in vain. It was literally trying to catch a waterfall pouring into our home. The ceiling cracked open, the walls were suddenly cracking, the baseboards in numerous rooms throughout the house. it had the look of Pre-Armageddon. Once the mitigation finished removing the damage and drying everything up, there were holes everywhere, missing baseboard pieces, it basically resembled a crack house. At this point, I began doing homework. People warned me to be very leery with who I let into the home, the trustworthiness of the repair crew, jobs being started and then left in the middle. I've seen enough Rob Wolchek to know this was a problem. Added to that, there are vulnerable people in the residence, so I was admittedly freaked out. One of the first listings for contractors I came across after a Google search was Alexander Contracting. They had nearly all 5 star reviews on Google and Thumbtack so I gave them a call. I spoke with Paul and he said he would come and assess what needed to be done. Within minutes of meeting Paul, I calmed down instantly. Not only did he take the time to patiently answer the 20,000 questions I peppered him with, but he was very honest and explanatory giving me advice on what to do even if we decided not to use his company. As in, he had no skin in the game but was giving us advice as people very new to this process just to help us out even if we didn't use him. In the end, we went with Alexander Contracting and boy oh boy oh boy was that the best decision ever. They began doing work immediately. The two men who did the majority of the work, Sasha and Vasili were INCREDIBLE. They never stopped working. It was like watching Boxer from the book Animal Farm. We begged them to take food, drink and that it was okay to use the bathroom lol. Despite not having the leftover baseboards from the mitigation crew, they somehow like the magicians that they are, Paul found perfect replacements. The fellows fixed all the holes and cracks and got the paint colors down beautifully. Don't even get me started on the ceiling design. Our ceiling has a décor that's over thirty years old. These fellows were able to recreate the ceiling pattern PERFECTLY. Are they construction guys? Are they artists? You be the judge. Some of the wallpaper due to the repairs needed to be replaced. We had nooo idea what to look for and there was no chance in hell wallpaper from over 30 years ago would be found. Alexander Contracting did everything! They found STUNNING wallpaper for us to complement the home and we couldn't be happier. Walking through the home now, you not only wouldn't know there was a ginormous leak, but the work they did beautified our awesome place even more. They are truly the 'invisible' pros. They treated our home with such care, keeping their staging area in the garage tidy and cleaning up after themselves so thoroughly that the only evidence of their presence was the beautiful repairs they left behind. Thank you Sasha and Vasili for the incredible job you did in our home, the perfection and detail you put into the crazy long hours you spent repairing our home barely taking a break. Thank you Fady for being so kind, patient and reassuring to me and my family and last but not least to Paul. The honesty in our communication, talking to me, reaching out beyond working hours to make sure everything was going okay, I can't describe what a pleasure it was working with you. I certainly hope we don't have to deal with another disaster again but I am so thankful this led me to experiencing such a morally strong, honest, ethical contracting company like yours that did a beyond phenomenal job. Most of his work was adequate until he poured a front step into the building. They splashed concrete everywhere and I had to hire a third party to clean it up. This step is 2 years old, was done twice and was not done properly. It has deteriorated to the point that it needs to be redone. He will not return any of my phone calls. I want to meet and he avoids me. I call from different phones he answers then will not pick up for a future call. He is not a dependable contractor and will not warranty his work.

This is a much better solution than slapping down some indoor-outdoor carpeting that looks pretty rough after a couple years in the elements. And since it's just a thin coating over your existing concrete it's not really a major disruption to do it. It's not like tearing out all the concrete and starting over. Of course your existing slab has to be in reasonable (although not perfect) shape. I'm not going to say they're fast because it does take them a while to get to your job. But they didn't ask for any money until they were done, so I just figure they're a little slow because they've got a lot of work. Which comes from being good at what you do. I definitely recommend them.

Once he felt he was done, our questions/issues no longer mattered. The amount of money spent on the project led us to believe that it would be better. The experience was not smooth. The way that Eric treated my wife, if he was ever actually on site with his helper, was less than ideal and only seemed to happen if I wasn't around. Ultimately, I think Eric wanted the job to be what only he wanted it to be and did not like our ideas or hopes, which didn't sit well with us, considering our position in funding it and communicating clearly in many of our preferences. There are plenty of 5-star reviews that will drown out this one singular negative, but very honest, review. ***The helper that he did have doing the bulk of his work, Carlos, is deserving of a separate review because he was great.

It took his crew TWO MONTHS to install a small home steel roof. During that time we had several leaks and the crew leader shook it off saying "I have insurance" as if to say "not my problem we cannot keep a schedule or install roofing correctly". Called Mike several times to get this corrected and the crew showed up at my house upset because I called their boss! Mike had also promised some "gift cards" to make up for the inconvenience (never saw them, was happier to see the crew finally leave). And lastly, we are still having issues with our porch roof leaking and they never bothered to even email, phone concerning the issue. My advice from our experience is to steer clear of this contractor at all costs!
