It was sad to hear about the death of her husband that she loved so dearly. But she carries on with extraordinary energy. Donna and her husband operate one of the best book stores we've visited in quite a while. Though the shop is somewhat small, they have a terrific selection to choose from and the quality is excellent. Unlike many larger stores, there's little if any dreck. Subject areas of special note include hard back fiction, western states history, home crafts, military history, quilting, cook books and reference works. We bought about a dozen books, in all, many of which we hadn't seen before. If you're a book lover and anywhere near Reedsport, you should definitely stop at Donna's Books.

It seems like their selection of gift items has expanded over the years. It also seems very thoughtful, classy and includes many unique and fun things. Puzzles, art supplies, coloring books, journals, t-shirts, and jewelry were on display along with the books. They also carry cool postcards that are a step above the regular ones available everywhere else. I've scored some great deals here as well. They offer remainders and the last two times I've been here I've scored cool history works at great prices. Service is quiet and calm, but warm too. In other words, they let you browse as much as you want, but also seem accessible for help and/or questions. I love coming here when I'm in the area!

We arrived in this remote town (south of Florence) to this bookstore which was the third and final one we visited that day. We were surprised to see it closed, even though the hours online said it would be open. Katelyn went ahead and called the owner. She answered and let her know the clerc was at lunch and would be back soon, but we didn't mind waiting. When the clerc arrived, we explored. There were multiple rooms and many paperbacks. Then, I saw a newspaper article about the author/owner, which was above a glass case with books about Peter, Samson, etc. Finally, I understood! I grew up reading this author. Many church libraries have her books! I got a book about the Oregon State Jail which we have discussed about before.
