The best little store in Yachats. A real old fashioned general store! They've come through for me…read moreso many times over the years when I'd forgotten to bring things I needed: a flashlight, a travel candle, and most recently a charging cord. And of course I find a lot of things I don't need, too! One of my favorite t-shirts came from here; it's got their store logo, which is an adorable little steampunk anglerfish. I'm so obsessed that I got a sticker with the same logo on it this trip (also, they have a lot of awesome stickers). On top of that, the staff are super friendly and welcoming! There's one delightful woman who has been there the last couple times, and she's a joy to chat with. I wish I had asked her name. I work retail myself, and she exudes the same warmth I try to give to all of my customers, too. It's not always an easy job, but you can tell when someone genuinely wants to make customers feel at home in their space and takes pride in their job. Also, I'm really obsessed with coming back and getting an anglerfish sweatshirt now.

In October, we were driving the 101 for leisure when we saw large minerals outside a store that…read moreinstantly lured us in, but sadly the customer service, or lack thereof made us leave. My partner and I were walking around the store with about 8 other patrons and we noticed that three different customers tried to interact with the owner (?), a man who was searching on his phone the whole time. Two ladies were trying to talk to him about the store pup, while another guy was trying to make chit-chat and both either received a few grumbles or an inaudible response. He didn't ever look up from his phone. This type of service bums us out and we decided to return our handfuls of specimens that we carefully picked out while walking through their well-stocked store.

We don't mind paying a little more in quaint small towns. We prefer the peaceful, low traffic areas of the Oregon Coast. Employees are always friendly and helpful here. Their private parking lot has plenty of parking available. The store is clean and well stocked. I would definitely recommend.

I drove 20 minutes south just to go here. The owner was talking with an older couple while I looked at some bowls. She said, "Those two are sold," and I thought she was talking to the couple she had been speaking to. Then, she walks right behind me and says loudly, "Those two are sold! I'll put them back." She was very rude. We quickly left and won't return. I'm not sure why you wouldn't keep sold pieces in the back, or at least be polite when someone is looking at them. As a small business owner, a decent demeanor is important. If you like to support artists, this is a great spot. I guess just hope the owner is in a good mood?
