The best little store in Yachats. A real old fashioned general store! They've come through for me…read moreso many times over the years when I'd forgotten to bring things I needed: a flashlight, a travel candle, and most recently a charging cord. And of course I find a lot of things I don't need, too! One of my favorite t-shirts came from here; it's got their store logo, which is an adorable little steampunk anglerfish. I'm so obsessed that I got a sticker with the same logo on it this trip (also, they have a lot of awesome stickers). On top of that, the staff are super friendly and welcoming! There's one delightful woman who has been there the last couple times, and she's a joy to chat with. I wish I had asked her name. I work retail myself, and she exudes the same warmth I try to give to all of my customers, too. It's not always an easy job, but you can tell when someone genuinely wants to make customers feel at home in their space and takes pride in their job. Also, I'm really obsessed with coming back and getting an anglerfish sweatshirt now.

Super cool little hardware store! The staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The nice ladies in the mercantile didn't carry any, but pointed us in the right direction to find some. There is a ton of stuff in here! So much that most likely you'll find something while perusing the store. They even have a baked goods case in front. Great little find in Yachats. Would recommend.

I don't normally like coast-town galleries. They seem to either be full of hot-glued seashell wind…read morechimes, or mollusks made of of stained glass that I'd have to skip a mortgage to afford. But Yachats isn't your typical coast tourist trap, and Touchstone Gallery is unlike any beach gallery I've ever been to before. True to the town, the spirit is truly tuned to the natural beauty and appreciation of art, and you see that reflected in both the products and the gallery itself. The space is light, bright and airy, with an enchanting tree of patron notes in the center of the gallery. If you stop to contribute, you're likely to be greeted by one of the sweet gallery kitties. The selection is wonderful and full of surprises, with everything from homemade cards and jewelry to dishes and unique art pieces. Prices are shockingly reasonable, so you can leave with something beautiful without spending your whole vacation budget. Gallery owner Jacquee is super-helpful and will get your treasures home in splendid fashion, whether shipped or hand gift-wrapped. She'll also ship from her website, in case you regret leaving something behind. Touchstone Gallery is redefining coast souvenirs, one whimsical treasure at a time.

I stopped here last year and got a beautiful mug. I was excited to return and purchase some other…read moreitems because I love to support local artists when I'm on a trip. I drove 20 minutes south just to go here. The owner was talking with an older couple while I looked at some bowls. She said, "Those two are sold," and I thought she was talking to the couple she had been speaking to. Then, she walks right behind me and says loudly, "Those two are sold! I'll put them back." She was very rude. We quickly left and won't return. I'm not sure why you wouldn't keep sold pieces in the back, or at least be polite when someone is looking at them. As a small business owner, a decent demeanor is important. If you like to support artists, this is a great spot. I guess just hope the owner is in a good mood?
