This is a new discovery for me in Sutherlin. It's only a mile off the freeway on Central Ave. (the main street through town) with lots of parking so if you are looking for a place to sit inside, on comfortable furniture, with classical music playing softly to enjoy a great cup of coffee or tea, take the time to sit and enjoy. Of course, lots of used books to explore too. The prices for the coffee drinks are about 25% under the competition and the quality of the drinks are not diminished. I try to visit whenever I can. On the other hand, if you just want "drive-up coffee", you'll pass THREE drive-up coffee stands while driving the mile to the Books Gallery. read more

If you need a stop midway on your way up or down I-5 in Oregon, this is the perfect place to browse a good selection of used books, sip some yummy Allan Bros coffee, and enjoy quiet music in a comfy chair. This is SO WORTH IT. Don't be sucked in by the Dutch bros right off the exit. Keep going the 1/4 mile more to Books Gallery for your coffee! Amazing stop close to I-5. Delicious cup of organic coffee(espresso machine!), friendly caretaker and my dream library! So nice to support independent bookstores like this one with so much charm. Being there makes me want to curl up with coffee and a good read. A must visit, even if your just passing through. read more

Love the environment of this place! ! An amazingly big selection of hard to find books. The owner (a very friendly older gentleman)makes the delicious coffee and his wife makes the bakery items. I didn't have the chocolate cake, but WOW it looked good! I love that they also sell local artists stuff. We ended up buying two beautiful handmade pottery coffee mugs. They have tables to read and drink coffee. There were also ladies there putting together and puzzle and a couple ladies painting. Very warm& Welcoming~ We plan on making this place a regular stop when we drive to Southern Oregon read more

This place is awesome. I am so happy to have a place like this available in the small town of Sutherlin. I ended up deciding to check it out for the first time, fifteen minutes before they were closing. The man who was there was very friendly and helpful in finding books in specific genres. He gave me a little tour of all the sections and even discussed his thoughts on certain authors with me. They have delicious goodies from the lighthouse bakery, and good coffee. It's a very relaxed, comfortable atmosphere with a good selection of books and seating areas. I can't wait to go back and spend a couple of hours. read more
