We had a Mother's Day celebration at El Horses this past Saturday. It was a wonderful choice! The vibrant atmosphere and incredible authentic Mexican cuisine made the family gathering truly memorable. Went back again in hopes it would be better. The service is FANTASTIC and staff is WONDERFUL. But the food is still bland. There is no spice at all. The salsa is like tomato sauce with some onions, heat scale is 0. And still sauce on the burritos is lacking any flavor. It actually takes away from the flavor of the burrito itself and it's a pity because I love wet burritos! read more

Very clean and fresh. Nice folks, average service. Food was just okay EXCEPT my Chile Verde was extremely salty. Left much of it. I always judge on the beans, they were good, not great. Wife judges on the rice, nice but not special. Her tacos carbon were tasty and looked great. read more

One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Sutherlin. They just recently changed the owner and convert it to a Mexican restaurant. The decoration is very unique. The staffs wear masks the whole time which is kind of rare to see in Sutherlin. The foods tend to be a little salty, but very flavorful. The price is very reasonable. And I would definitely love to return for more yummy foods read more

I just finished lunch here at El Horse Cafe and am sorry I had not taken a picture first. The prices are extremely reasonable and the food is great. You have the option of choosing real authentic Mexican or the typical options. Their tamale had more meat than I have ever received in a restaurant tamale. Absolutely hands down the best Mexican restaurant in the area, maybe even as far as Medford! I'm so happy this opened in Sutherlin. Being from San Diego I miss good Mexican food and their beans are amazeballs! Wish they would do something about the decor inside its very cafe like. It would be awesome if they could make it more hacienda style. Turn on the fireplace, put electric candles on the tables. Something anything! This is the old Si Casa style of food. The good stuff. The way it was back in the day. It's a nice place but no booths. It's not a very private atmosphere but nice. The food is spot on and never disappointed. The owner is super nice and from the old Si Casa. I was glad to see Rueben get away from the crap Si Casa. This food was SO delicious. I ordered the shrimp fajitas and they came out sizzling hot. Tons of flavor and with a large plate of beans, rice, guacamole, salsa, and tortillas. Every part of the plate was fresh & delicious and I got to take some home for a second meal. Also, very nice, open space and the sweetest staff. Tried El Horse Cafe for the 1st time since new owners took over. 1st time was enough, slow service, inattentive young waiter, and less than average food. Ordered a dinner entree Polo Ala Creama and was served chicken & sliced onion covered in sour cream. So tasteless & boring left 3/4 uneaten, others in our party had chili verde that they described as fatty pieces of pork in a runny sauce. A friend who ordered enchiladas said there's was okay but wouldn't order it again. Our waiter never asked how our food was even after seeing the amount left on the plates nor did he offer us take home boxes. One of our guys picked up a to go box from the stack on the counter to put the dry rice in for his dog who loves people food of any kind. At least Bow wow will enjoy El Horse's food. read more
