The hotel is near this Costco, so I decided to try to avoid the big lines and go there early. Great, no big lines, but still plenty of people pumping gas early. The station opens at 6 am and closes like maybe 9 pm, one hour after the store closes. Cheapest gas around and sure is less here than in California! Plus, if you have a Citi Costco card (doubles as a membership card), you get 5% off gas when you get it as a Costco gas station! I love they have those red and green signals posted on each pump island, telling you which pump on the island is available. You do know as well, that the pump hoses are long enough to stretch to the other side of your car id you pull in with your filler spot on the opposite side of the pumps. Just one thing I'd like is some windshield cleaning supplies, to clean while the car fills, but I guess that might slow the flow of vehicles ... sort of like when that big fat motorhome with a 75 gallon tank pulls in!

Whether just starting that road trip or in the process of an incredible journey all of an individuals needs can be met here! It's been a minute since I've been in an Arco, let me pass along sound advice this one's worth a gander! As most of us prepare for our said excursion and get the car packed, that first stop out or in town is always planned for a the local convenient store. Everyone has a favorite one where the snacks and coffee are best! This is going to be my new favorite! Just the feel of the store from the parking lot has radical waves. If our road trip was to California then this store would be totally gnarly dude, ok brows. Unfortunately there are no waves or sand planned today! As we take that walk from the parking lot to the front doors the outside of the Arco has all that colorful signage that explains the details of new products or current promotions going on to save us some dough. The door to enter the store is a sliding door, so no awkward pulling of when I exit carrying all my loot! After walking through the middle of the store, I cannot help but notice how big this store is for a convenient store. When you walk through the different aisles their is so much room. No running into displays or awkward passing of other customers. The store has that new clean smell, even though it's been here for awhile. That means the store is "really really" truly clean. Theirs no faking genuine clean. Oh the burgers here at Arco AMPM, they are legendary. If you have sampled the burgers here you know what I'm celebrating. For those that are just finding out about these meat treats, now you have the information needed to go procure one. The cheeseburgers were beyond amazing, plus it seems a decade since I enjoyed one! We loaded our cheeseburgers with mustard, relish, and extra pickle. Pickles are essential to achieving that delicate balance between meat and cheese. Glad they had plenty of pickles in stock for this trip. Smiling, smiling, and cheerfulness did I just win big! No it's Team Arco! From when we walked through the door to dressing up our burgers the glee from the crew is contagious. You know that warm hearted smile that you make between a dog and their owner, such compassion. That is how I would compare the looks the staff has between each other, then they pass that same quality onto the customers when they look at them! One could get positive energy from the glows of the employees here. When I checked out the cashier demonstrated over and over again such courtesy. Asking me questions about my visit, their store, and such. One could not fake these qualities. While leaving the store I was thanked for coming and wished well by three different employees. Boy, whom ever trains the employees here should write a book, it would be a best seller! Loving the fun and playful professional presence that the employees share this is worth a trip out of my way. I know where the best and delicious soy cheeseburgers are with such great prices. The store is superb when it comes to cleaning, it would make mom proud. It is…read morewhat it is when your heading out to the lake and it is literally the last fuel stop on your way to Lake Mead. Over all a few cents higher isn't a huge deal. However there is bench and patio type seats outside the store where it appears some homeless people hang out. On our stop there, about 3-4 of them and all their belongings were hanging out over there. I have no issue with them, except everywhere you stop these days someone has to ask you for a handout, or something. The area over there is dirty and not well kept most likely due to the transient population that is occupying that area. Next the bathroom situation in this establishment is less than acceptable. The bathroom smells horrible, trash all over the floor, no paper towels. The staff on this morning visit was not friendly, and seemed inconvenienced when I asked for air to be turned on at the air compressor for tire inflation. The positive part about this station is the two do it your self car wash stalls. One of which is over sized for boats and RVs. This makes it nice on your way beck into town to give the boat a good clean down in a shaded stall if you wish. There is also a drive thru touchless wash that if your car isn't crazy dirty would be a decent option. I'm not crazy about this location, and honestly I don't care for Terrible Herbst fuel stations in general, I would rather go to Smiths or a Maverick station. Unfortunately there is not many Maverick stations in Henderson. There is also very few Smiths stations.

The point-of-sale system frequently has problems, the car wash is often down, pumps are out of service, and the overall customer experience is inconsistent. It often appears that employees are disengaged, unavailable, or more focused on taking breaks than helping customers. What's even more frustrating is that concerns brought to management don't seem to go anywhere. After speaking with the manager responsible for the location, I felt completely dismissed. As someone who has spent tens of thousands of dollars on fuel for both personal and business use over the years, I would expect concerns to be taken seriously--but this really shouldn't be about how much money any customer spends. It should be about basic customer service. Las Vegas was built on hospitality and taking care of customers. A little accountability, better training, and stronger leadership would go a long way. Invest in your employees, improve the culture, and the customer experience will improve right along with it.
