TLDR: The Tuttle Group utterly astounded us with an effortless, friendly, speedy, and (believe it…read moreor not) FUN refinance as self-employed individuals when no one else wanted to help. We decided to refinance our home to make some improvements and clear out some high-interest debt. We assumed (erroneously) that our credit union, which had held the current mortgage for 15 years plus our bank accounts and car notes, and a flawless history of payments with them, would have no trouble refinancing us, even though we are now self-employed, and making 3x what we made when they initially approved us. ***WRONG!!!*** After literally MONTHS of asking for documents, changing rates, long delays waiting for info from underwriting, and unanswered questions, we finally abandoned them in search of unconventional financing routes. We looked specifically for brokers in the area who specialize in self-employed people, and found a few. Some seemed a bit "green," some sounded less than friendly or just weren't interested in a smaller refi. But Tatiana with the Tuttle Group was super friendly when she reached out, and helped us arrange a video consultation with Andy Tuttle, the wizard of the Tuttle Group. During the 30 minutes that Andy spoke with us, it was like a crash course in financial planning. Everything he said made so much sense, and we learned more about mortgage refinancing than MONTHS of online research and questions we had asked to our credit union. Andy was up-front and told us that our best option might, indeed, be to go with the offer our credit union had finally extended, and that he might not be able to beat it. Still, he took the time to explain how refinancing in this "terrible Fed-rate" era could be financially advantageous to us, and told us to check once more with our credit union to see their final terms and if they were still locked in. I was astounded that he would take that kind of time to talk to a customer he likely wouldn't get any money from. We decided to proceed with the Tuttle Group, even if they couldn't offer us a better rate, simply because it was a PLEASURE dealing with them, they treated us like family, and everything Andy said made such good sense. Throughout the 2-ish weeks that ensued, their awesome mortgage gal Annie checked in with us regularly to make sure all our questions were answered. They seemingly required FAR less documentation than anyone else. But their stated tactic was to present a perfect, iron-clad package to underwriting up-front, so that there would be an instant approval and there wouldn't be a need for further questions or documentation. (Imagine that???) In what seemed like the blink of an eye, we were approved and ushered through closing. We simply could not be more impressed with the Tuttle Group. We've helped numerous friends and family through the mortgage process, and it's always like being put through a medieval torture device. This is the first time getting approved and closing was a PLEASURE. We NEVER had to contact them for questions, because they were always checking in to make sure all ours were answered. They were super friendly, familiar, informal-yet-professional, and we always felt like they had our backs and had everything under control. We actually looked forward to their calls and emails...imagine that??? Even though were were looking for a silly, small refinance and shouldn't have been worth their time, we felt like we had called up a dear family member who gave us the "hook up" our situation clearly didn't warrant. Astounded. Impressed. Thrilled. Grateful. These are some of the things we feel after our experience with the Tuttle Group. And I have absolutely no doubt your experience will leave you feeling the same.

Town Square Mortgage was recommended by our realtor. We were put under a short close window and…read morethey assured us they would keep us informed and could do the close without delays or penalties. Jeff the owner talks a good game and seems nice but politely blames you for his empty promises ( not calling, having other call who don't know anything, changing of fees, etc.). He went as far as to say he was waiting to see if we had any questions on the day of close and we just got the paperwork and hadn't had anyone review it after it was wrong ( trying to charge is another $1800 in buy down fees ). It had not been in any prior paperwork. To top it off the closing fees and paperwork was totally different than disclosed earlier and no one had reached out to review or let us know there was changes. Again some of it was incorrect and had to be changed the day of close.

A note on working with Kevin Svoboda at Town Square Financial... and it's hard to know where to…read morestart. My family and I were required to move as our lease was up and our landlord was selling the home. We thought we were going to have to find another increasingly expensive place to rent when I responded to an email I received from TSF at work. Kevin quickly called me back and we got acquainted, discussing our finances and needs. We had terrible credit and very little money for a down payment, as we were not planning on being able to purchase a home. Within a few short days, Kevin and his team had a plan in place to improve our credit and structure a deal to not just be able to stop renting, but to buy an extremely wonderful home and start building equity in a new chapter of our lives. With Kevin's wealth of knowledge and experience and our rough financial situation, he prepared us from the very beginning, saying that it could be a roller coaster of ups and downs throughout the process, but swore he'd work had for us and keep us informed every step of the way. And so he did. Tirelessly. It is with the deepest respect for Kevin that I choose to disclose that, while working for us, Kevin's dad, with whom he had such a close relationship with, passed away. Even while out of town, spending the most valuable time at his dad's bedside before he passed, Kevin kept in touch with us as the loan process continued. As time moved forward, at Kevin's direction, we cleaned up our financials, got the necessary down payment set up and yesterday, after the most emotional roller-coaster ride that we've taken, signed papers and closed on our first home after 10 years of marriage, three beautiful children, seven college degrees and two thriving careers. I imagine that Kevin's dad would be proud that his son works so nobly hard to help people pursue the American dream of home ownership. He did for us - he will for you, too. Our relationship with Kevin started as a professional one, but we're friends now. It is with most sincere gratitude that I recommend Kevin Svoboda and his team at Town Square Financial. Ryan
