I can't say enough positive about the medical care with this group. They are true professionals. The office is clean and the support staff are professional and efficient. The only negative to this office, is the constant stream of loud and obnoxious infomercials they run on large flat screen televisions in every waiting area. When asking staff why, all approached claimed to not know why and to have no control of even volume:( in the hour I was in the various waiting rooms, I overheard 6 different people complain about the tv's. I only hope that this group of doctors draw a commission from Guthy Runker. Oh they also have a public WiFi that does not work, so I had to post this review from the parking lot:( read more

Very thorough exam. Caring doctor. On time - no wait. This is the way an office should be run!

While the doctors provide excellent care, the administrative side of this office needs serious improvement. My procedure was cancelled because the authorization department failed to follow through, despite multiple attempts on my part. Communication is poor, and phone wait times are excessively long. The business office and authorization department rate very poorly, which overshadows the quality of the medical staff. Make sure you follow up daily to get your authorizations done read more

Thorough, forthcoming about my eyesight and condition. Ongoing until April when I will have my eye surgery.

Saw 4 different eye doctor's in this office. Not professional at all. Wait forever and then get in and out as fast as possible. They never once put my tests or images on a computer screen to see the health of my eyes. In this case the the unhealthy health of my eyes. Not once in 5 years did they mention Glaucoma in my eyes, just watching change in pressure. Would not recommend, maybe for just a quick eye examine. Very upset with this group read more

I have been a patient for many years and have never had a bad experience. From the front desk staff to the technicians and most importantly the doctors, they have all been wonderful and courteous. The place is very clean and they take the time to disinfect all the machines prior to your making contact with them. I would highly recommend them. I have had 3 very successful surgeries with this professional group. read more

not only are the doctors incompetent, but so is the staff. not helpful and inconsiderate for their patient's care!!

Horrible service. Simply horrible in every way. First, I was kept waiting for ~30 minutes past my appointment time until I was seen. For a routine eye exam for glasses & contacts the prescription was incomplete. A "PD" number needed to order glasses from anywhere else was omitted. I was told I would need to come back and be measured again as this measurement "wasn't taken." What? Does that mean if I had bought new glasses from them that it would have been included? Also, I ordered a supply of contact lenses from this offices optical shop and waited for almost a month with no word. It turns out, the new contacts weren't ordered from the supplier. I was assured they would be in less than a week. 2 weeks later "they are on back order." Unbelievably horrid customer service. I have little to 0 confidence that the prescription will even be correct. Needless to say, I will be finding another eye doctor & shop next year. read more

A true miracle! Thank you Dr. Matt Paul, Dr. Stephen Mathias, and Dr. Ralph Falkenstein who all worked together to ensure that my cataract surgery would give me almost 20/20 vision AND the ability to read as well, without glasses. I was almost legally blind in my right eye and now I can see perfectly. I have worn glasses or contacts since the age of 12, never with great eyesight. Now, at age 70, you all gave me excellent vision. I had been to top eye institutes in the country, but never had anyone figured out the best solution for my cataract surgery. The lenses you implanted gave me the miracle of sight. Thank you all and thank you to your wonderful staff. You should be so proud. read more

A visit to this office and the courtesy by Linda, office manager, & Michelle were not good. Again not good. I wrote a review on Google about the lack of knowledge & service and to my shock, they called the Danbury Police. Yes they called the Danbury Police due to a review. They made up allocations about the patient, an elderly person. Patient, definitely former, waits for the records. What a merde show. read more

Please please please be aware of this place when visiting or/and applying. I contracted Covid a few months ago while at work and the way they dismissed and ignored my needs for protection and recovering are beyond unethical and inhumane. I was completely ignored by both management and was told employees couldn't speak to each other regarding covid or their covid diagnosis. Not only do they only provide you with one mask per month and no proper gear, they try to see as many patients as possible within one hour with no social distancing. I'm only writing this to advised you to be wary, they won't care if you drop dead. PLEASE wear your mask and only apply or visit doctors that truly care about your health. read more

Update on my last review - I did not mention the ophthalmologist I last saw there refused to place tear duct plugs which provide me great relief for my severe dry eye condition. He said I did not have dry eye based on nothing, no tests on my eye done. When I complained to the manager, she said the doctor said that because he was not going to get any money from my insurance company. Today I had to drive back to my former ophthalmologist in NYC and pay out of pocket for the plugs. He said it was ridiculous that I was told I no longer have dry eye without doing any tests or asking me how my eyes feel. He said plugs provide great relief and there is no excuse for Danbury Eye Center to provide me with proper care. As a matter of fact, I found out all the advice they gave me there about my eyes was wrong. read more

Don't walk... run the other way! This practice has become overcrowded and overbooked. It is impossible to make an appointment in a timely manner and when you do get in with the doctor it is a rush. My daughter was given a prescription so strong she had horrendous headaches and terrible motion sickness. Before leaving the office, I questioned the significant change on her prescription and was told glass are like sneakers and children grow and they have to "get used to it". After a couple of days, I called and was told that she had to "give it a few days". I called again and was told that we couldn't be seen for another week. After finally returning to the office, a different doctor changed the prescription. Oh and don't get me started of the price the optical shop charges for glasses! Terrible experience! read more

I think very highly of the docs, but the staff is beyond rude. I just recommended my husband and close college to the group, but I may have to rethink my recommendation read more

This place is the ultimate example of the "dumbing down of medicine". When I checked into the out patient facility for my cataract surgery I ask what the cost was going to be. The nurse had me call the financial department who told me, "We can't give you that information. We used to, but now we are too short handed". Really? I was going into surgery without any idea how much it would cost? At appointments prior to the surgery the ophthalmologist kept telling me that since I had prior Lasik surgery the lens she was putting in would probably not be correct. She kept saying, "We can just touch it with a laser and then your eyesight will be corrected". She left out the fact that this process would cost an additional $2,500 which was not covered by insurance. To avoid this cost, I have been going to them for a contact lens to correct my now terrible sight in the eye on which they operated. The following is a "Reader's Digest" version of the medical nightmare I experienced. 1.The optometrist ordered a lens which, when it arrived after two weeks, did not work out (no big deal, right?) 2. She ordered another lens, but whoever ordered it confused a plus for a minus, so the lens was completely incorrect.Three more weeks wasted (because when the lens came in it was a week before they could fit me in for an appointment). 3. She ordered ANOTHER lens. After two weeks the office called and told me to pick it up. No appointment was made with the doctor. When I picked up the lens it was again not correct. I went directly to the office and they told me an appointment should have been made. It took another week to get an appointment. 4. The optometrist ordered ANOTHER lens. After two weeks I called to find out if it was in. I was told NOT TO CALL, that this process of ordering custom made lenses can take up to three weeks. It has now been FIVE WEEKS and I have heard nothing from them. My eyesight is terrible! I have a five week old contact lens that might not last much longer, but doesn't correct my sight very well anyway. I had cataract surgery on my right eye November 2, 2017 and in spite of being under constant care at Danbury Eye Physicians and Surgeons, nine full months later I still cannot see out of that eye. I am a musician and this is affecting my career. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!! ENOUGH! I am looking elsewhere for a competent eye doctor. read more

This is not a commentary on the quality of eye care at CEC in Danbury. I've been a patient there for over 30 years and consider my care to have been excellent. That being said, there are other excellent ophthalmologists in the Danbury area, a huge difference and benefit from the situation that existed when I was younger. I had an eye exam cancelled when the great shutdown began. I made another one when they reopened, had it cancelled again and postponed for a month. As a person with one eye, and a cataract growing in it, this was disturbing. When I finally got into the office I was treated with rudeness and a lack of assistance with forms beyond anything I'd ever experienced. Nearly every word spoken to me was curt, directions were overly and inescapably rude and in no way was I respected as a valued patient. I walked out. As good as their medical skill may be, that sort of treatment is unacceptable as well as unprofessional. There's no way that I can recommend this practice to anyone who asks if I know where to find an eye doctor. read more

The doctors deserve 5 stars. Great work. HOWEVER- they verified my insurance, it says on the card I provided who to bill vision services to. They DID NOT tell me that they don't accept that particular subsidiary. I ended up with charges I had no idea I would be responsible for. When I called to question it, I was told "the patient really needs to know the ins and outs." Honey, if you tell me you take my insurance, I assume you take my insurance. Same deal with the vision store. They say they don't bill to insurance, and it's not made clear that they don't *participate* with any private insurance plans, even though the rest of the building *does*. I ordered a pair of glasses not being fully aware of the charge. Unless you have state, take your hard-earned dollars somewhere less sneaky. read more

Horrible customer service. Receptionist was rude, and the people in the business office are unresponsive to emails or calls.

This office is a joke. The receptionist is rude and clueless. My first appointment for graves disease eye issues. I asked the receptionist if all procedures that are being done ARE COVERED BY INSURANCE. SHE SAID YES AND ASKED FOR MY COPAY WHICH I PAID. Weeks later I get a bill for $55. I sent it back saying send to collections and explained why I was upset about the charge. They could not care less. They just wanted me to schedule me for a visit every 6 months??? They only care about the money not the treatment. The doctor told me my symptoms are a 2 out of a 10 yet asked me how I see when I drive???? Never returning to them again. read more

I have been going to this office since Dr. Neal Zimmerman owned it, After he passed away, Danbury Eye Physicians & Surgeons PC have continued the fine job that easily matches the extremely high standards set by Dr. Zimmerman. I have the most experience with Dr. Archna Johar. She has the unique ability to instill confidence in her and the excellent work she does. Two thumbs up, Danbury Eye!!!! read more

From booking the appointment, greeting and reception, technician analysis and then appointment with Dr. Katherine Zamecki my wife and I were very pleased. Nice to have a pleasant reception and a doctor's office these days. All around 100% recommend this practice. My wife and I had our first eye exams ever (in our 50's) plus we had brought our daughter here prior for a headache issue resolved with temporary use of glasses. The bad reviews on here must be from angry people in general. Not warranted at all. read more

I took my mother-in- law to get her eye exam , they were 20 minutes late taking her back for her examination , but they a good job. What I am very upset with them is that they gave me her eye prescription , but would not give me PD ( Pupillary Distance), because they wanted me to buy there glasses which they are very expensive. My family is on hard times right now and can only afford the exam though Husky Insurance. I wanted to try Zenni Optical, because it is much cheaper . I feel like they held my mother-in-law's medical chart hostage, just so the could make more money. I called them and they said "we don't give out that kind of information". I think that is very sad to take advantage of the situation. read more

Office is clean. Professional and friendly staff. Dr. Katherine Zamecki is very knowledgeable, comforting and efficient.

While most doctors in this practice are very professional, I urge you to not expect the same from Dr. Scartozzi. He is either severely overbooked or extremely insensitive. His inability to inject dye without causing extreme discomfort and huge bruising makes me believe he could use the services of a nurse. When he reviews test results and asks if the patient if the patient has any questions he does not wait for a reply. I had a question but he didn't give me a minute to ask it. He said he'd see me in four months and quickly left the room totally ignoring the fact that a patient is a person -- not just a test result. As a result I made my next appointment with another doctor and I urge you to do the same. The technicians with whom he works are far more professional than Dr. Scartozzi. read more

Best Eye doctors I've ever been to. Great service, brilliant doctors, and they're available on weekends.

I had to return twice within three days for a two-minute check on my eye; saw an optometrist and was charged a $40 copay three times! I thought that was horrible customer service read more

Dr. Johar recently performed cataract removal/lens replacement surgery on both of my eyes in a two-week period. Pre-op, in understandable layman's terms, she clearly explained the procedure and discussed possible limitations re: "perfect" results given my acute myopia. Post-op, I had some blurred vision for a few days due to corneal swelling and her follow-up was superb. She was accessible 24/7, provided reassurances after examination, modified post-op drops protocols to accelerate recovery and scheduled additional visits to monitor and confirm progress. I found her style to be practical, her communications clear, her professional competence apparent and her general persona pleasant and engaging. Having worn glasses since age 7 (now 70+), after my eyes settled in after surgery, I commented that "I never knew people could see this well." I would certainly recommend Dr. Johar to others dealing with similar issues. read more

I was seen by Dr. Zuckerman at the New Milford Office. The staff are great and the facilities very new and modern. Dr. Zuckerman took the time to explain and discuss the exam and the results with me. He is very personable and, although busy, did not rush my appointment. The medical assistant was friendly and explained every step of my exam. I would highly recommend this office! read more
