I contacted PFP as one…read moreof the closest (about 50 miles away) Winco service techs for assistance with replacing diodes (an incorrect diagnosis from another tech). Paul stated the problem was far more likely bad capacitors and that the diodes could very likely still be serviceable. He was 100% correct. He helped with the diagnosis and talked me through the repair process. While it took me a while online to find replacement capacitors as I could not find a local supply store in Worcester, once the capacitors arrived and were installed I was back in full operation. I called Paul to thank him for his excellent advice and his time to help me resolve my generator problem. Shortly there after, Paul called back with additional unsolicited support regarding adjusting the throttle setting for cleaner power (Hz). The fact that the call back was unsolicited tells me that Paul keeps his clients best interests in mind and strives to serve well. Paul's kind & clear conversation was a breath of fresh air. He gave of his expertise & time to help me repair my generator without bringing it to him. I highly recommend contacting PFP for your electrical needs.

I needed an electrician so a tenant could move into an apartment we own, so there was a timing pressure and I was so stressed. It was a Hail Mary, but I made a flurry of calls, and Paul answered. Not only did he answer, but he gave me a realistic window when he'd be able to show up, kept in touch with me and was even able to show up earlier than projected, which was just so great. On this day we only needed to get the system safe to turn on for our new tenant, but the fact is, we know we need quite an overhaul, it's an very old house, and he was able and willing to not only get us up to safety, but had a good and realistic discussion about our future electrical needs. I'm sticking with this guy. Homeownership can be scary. Needing work done in an area that you have no real knowledge of can be scary. Paul took the scary parts away PLUS his rates are extremely reasonable (less,in fact, than our original appointment today). I can't recommend highly enough, and feel such a weight off my mind, knowing he can handle my daunting, ancient electrical system, which, honestly I've had on my list to tackle for a while.

Bob Laudette, owner of James Carboni Plumbing and Heating…read morefor over 33 years, was negligent in fulfilling his contract upon the installation of the furnace on December 3, 2019.  "ALL WORK WILL BE PERFORMED IN A NEAT AND PROFESSIONAL MANNER AND WILL MEET OR EXCEED ALL STATE AND LOCAL CODES."   Obviously he did not inspect the installation of the project on December 3 or he was not up to date on building codes.  The building inspector gave him 3 citations for code violations. The chimney clean out door was cemented ..a potential fire hazard. Contrary to Bob Laudette's explanation, the chimney was serviced prior to installation and given a stamp of approval!  The oil line was not protected properly and would cause a major oil leak if someone tripped over it and dislodged it; the duct work/ bonnet was installed with major gaps heating the basement to over 90 degrees. Besides the citations for code violations, Bob Laudette has ignored issues with the furnace and units: combustion issues with small explosions, malfunctioning humidifier, blower so powerful it rattles doors, oil leaks, filters to keep the blower working properly and to insure quality of inside air malfunctioning, extensive dust, uniform distribution of heat is deplorable with the basement heated at 90 degrees and the upstairs rooms are cold. All this for $7500? Now Bob Laudette wants to come and service the new furnace three months later after he ignored numerous calls in January and in fact cancelled a service call. At that point, I had to call reputable and licensed contractors to check out the furnace but the problems still persist. I contacted other agencies for help.  Consumer Protection who has limited authority suggested I pursue legal representation.  My mother, Amelia Wakely, expected and paid for what she thought was an up to date working oil furnace. Why would anyone keep a lemon; deal with a company who fails to treat a client in a professional manner or not at all; who does substandard work and delivers a defective product and writes they have a great business ethic!  Could Bob Laudette possibly service the furnace in the future if he can't deliver an up to date American Standard working furnace now? My mother wants her money returned, the furnace and so forth removed, and the mess they left cleaned up. Bob Laudette did not install a system free of charge out of the goodness of his heart. Lastly, my mother's health living under these conditions has deteriorated since the furnace was installed December 3,2019 . With the pandemic, the directive now is to shelter in the safety and comfort of your home. The safety of her home is a health hazard. How insensitive Bob Laudette is to suggest this is a frivolous matter! Hopefully our experience will save someone from grief in the future! Photos supplied upon request!

He gave options (where a previous plumber had given none); worked efficiently and cleanly; left the spaces he worked in clean; and made several appropriate recommendations for our new home (such as automatic shutoff for the washer in the basement). Compared to the previous plumber that we have since discontinued using, the price we paid was quite fair. Highly recommend.

I did a fair bit of diagnosis myself and traced the problem to a junction box (I thought, anyway). After opening the box and seeing cloth wiring that I just didn't want to fool with (bad experiences with that stuff in the past), I called multiple electricians. I think I called at least 20, and only Beaver Electric answered and / or agreed to come out timely. They told me they'd be out in two days. The next day, I got a call that they had time, and bumped up my appointment which was great! Tim from Beaver Electric arrived right on time and was able to find the piece of the puzzle I missed -- a shut off switch for the heating system, that I wasn't aware existed. Tenants had switched the system off, but even ever turning that on, there was still no power to the heating system. Tim diagnosed the switch as defective and I agreed. While I did want to kick myself for not checking the stairway for the primary emergency shut off switch (the unit has a secondary as most do), Tim replaced the switch, cleaned up some connections in the aforementioned junction box, and that was that for $235. A tad pricey for what was essentially a bad light switch, but fair enough as I would've dug into that junction box and been there for hours, not realizing the problem was at a switch I didn't know existed. Tim was very courteous and didn't mind me hovering over him, which can really be irritating. Nice guy, job well done, decent and responsive company, and fair price. I'd hire them again.
