This place has been a Tsawassen staple for 20 years. You don't last as a restaurant that long without doing SOMETHING right!! And this place is no exception. Tucked in the backside of the complex, overseeing Winskill Park, this place is really a diamond in the rough. You can even go warm up on a couple rounds of lawn bowling next door before enjoying some delicious tandoori chicken with some butter chicken, pakora, and Aloo Ghobi. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. The pakora was crispy, delicious and the chutneys were fresh. I had a Molson Canadian (because it's Canada and I had to celebrate Canada Day eh!) and it was served in a chilled half pint, really hit the spot!! Now the Clay Oven. It recently had a beautiful renovation. We got samosas, naan, butter chicken, and chicken tikka masala. All were excellent. The mild was very mild, and the medium has some heat without being overpowering. The service was top notch. read more

Satbir and Harpo are warm personable hosts, and nothing is too much trouble. I ordered a huge variety for 8 persons, had it delivered on time, and each dish was delicious. These are traditional dishes, and appreciated for their uncompromising South Asian style. Spices are flavorful and sauces rich. Food = 3 stars Service = 1 star Cleanliness = 1-2 stars While we were here, we noticed a lot of to-go orders. Hubby and I were 1 of 3 filled tables in the restaurant on a weekend night. I'd been on the island for a few days and was craving some ethnic food after coming back on the ferry so this popped up on my GPS, so off we went! Service is SLOW as death. OMG - I have never waited so long for someone to take my order (10-15 minutes) and for my food to come (another 30 minutes). I felt terrible for one of the tables - they had ordered before we arrived but were still waiting for their food when we got ours... it was so bad that the other table gave them their leftover naan so they would have something to eat! The food is very fresh once it arrives. Complimentary papadums are good. I enjoyed the garlic naan, and we had the lamb rogan josh which was very good and the butter chicken was OK (it's the runny kind). You might want to spice up here. Their medium hot was fairly mild to me. Cleanliness could be improved - out tablecloth had sauce stains on both sides and our plates weren't super clean. Sorry if TMI... I felt a little off after eating here and the leftovers so it may have been because of that. They seem nice here but between feeling unwell and the incredibly slow service, it's a pass. First of all, I like my Indian food hot, I mean temperature hot. We weren't sure about this place because it is around the back of a mini-mall but we are so glad we tried it. The food was some of the best Indian food I have ever had. Plus it was hot off the stove. Regarding spicy hot, we ordered medium and it was perfect. Fresh and delicious! I've only been here twice but both times exceeded my expectations. The butter chicken is the best I've ever had, make sure you order it with the garlic naan. If you order this, you will not disappointed. So delicious, you can taste the freshness, the cook knows what they are doing. I adore this restaurant, especially for take-out on the way back to the Point, where there is NO Indian food. My faves are veggie korma (mixed veg in mild-ish curry), mutter paneer (peas & cheese), naan (of course!) and paneer pakora (fried cheese with crazy-good dipping sauce). Connaught Place is the only Indian restaurant in Tsawwassen, so whether it is good or bad really matters. Here's the good: -Excellent food especially the Chicken Korma and Butter Chicken with garlic naan. They're very helpful in adjusting spice levels and will happily serve their dishes at Mild Plus to cater to your specific tastes and tolerance. -Helpful service. It's a family-run business so expect family members - not professional wait staff - to serve you. Take out is your best bet here with reasonable wait times. -Good prices with main courses running between $10 to $14, which includes basmati rice. And here's the bad: -A little tricky to find even though it's on the main 56th Street strip. It is located at the back of a non-descript strip mall in behind a medical centre and the Ocean Palace Chinese Restaurant. -Parking - there is not a lot of it so you may want to park in front of the building and walk to the back. -Inside decor is a little dated inside and the atmosphere is fine for locals and family dining, not a special occasion. In the end, if you enjoy good Indian food, you may want to give this little gem a try. The food is excellent. We were pleasantly surprised, and in a good way! read more

GOD HELP YOU IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM. I've ordered take out numerous times over the years about monthly from this restaurant. The food is generally good. I don't eat in the restaurant as it has no redeeming qualities and is dirty. Last night I ordered my usual, Butter Chicken and Lamb Vindaloo for delivery. The food is generally pretty good at this place. I've tasted better and tasted worse. What really choked me is when I opened the lamb dish there were literally 3 pieces of lamb and let me tell you they were small. I've been in the hotel and restaurant business for thirty years and I can say without actually weighing the meat there was no more than three ounces of meat. For goodness sake the other item in the dish is potato. Last time I checked potatoes are pretty damn cheap. There was barely half a potato in the dish. Clearly the cook messed up or they ran out of food. It was around 7:40 pm on a Thursday night. I immediately called the restaurant to bring it to their attention (politely). The lady put me on hold, ( I presume she was the owner). She then proceeded to tell me the cook said he put enough meat in and argued with me. So she essentially insulted me by implying I was a liar. I asked her to either give me a partial refund or credit of some sort. She continued to be arguementitve with me. Honestly I've never had a problem like this with any take out orders at other restaurants and the immediate response when there is a "mistake" on their end is usually followed by an apology and immediate corrective action. Based on my experience and the absolute indignant attitude of this owner/manager I will never go back again nor will I recommend it. For now they are the only game in town but you know............ that's gonna change soon. I gave her every opportunity to make things right and she didn't. So has ta lavista baby. You've lost my business for good. I'm phoning Browns for my next take out order. In a small town you need EVERY CUSTOMER! So I conclude by saying god help you if you have a food complaint.
