Wow, loved! I ordered the Pollo Al Horno with Sweet Plantains & Pinto Beans & it was delicious! I…read morehaven't had Puerto Rican food in years & it really hit the spot. The chicken was so flavorful & moist, the plantains were great as expected, & the beans were good too with a surprise piece of potato inside. It also came with a mixed green salad, it was a great value for price compared with the portion. The service was very friendly, I also ordered to the wrong location in Mill Valley but was able to call to cancel the order without charge. I picked up my order from the store/to-go section so I didn't see the restaurant space but just looking at the space I was in, it was so cute. They have some items for sale as well & a cute set up of their beverages. I love the use of colors on the building & space. I'm looking forward to coming back again soon! There are so many other items on the menu I would like to try especially the sandwiches!

Everyone raves about the food here so of course I had to stop by and try it…read more The menu is overwhelming but there was a person at the door who explained that the combinaciones are their most popular items, so I ordered pollo al horno which is baked boneless skinless chicken thighs served with organic salad, white rice, black or pinto beans, and plantain or P.R. fries. The food is good but I don't think I would order this meal again. What I will rave about is their house made hot pepper sauce. It's delicious, mild, sweet and tangy. The seating is family style or community seating where sitting with others at their table is encouraged. Service is fast and the restaurant is usually busy. It's a unique experience and I'm sure I'll go back to try another menu item.

Loved that it was so close to where we were staying in a cutesy shopping area. They had indoor and…read moreoutdoor seating and loved the decor. The service was great and they were able to explain the dinner items but on the menu they had what every item came with as well. I did not like that everything like the tortillas and chips and salsa was all at a separate cost. The plate sizes were pretty good and most everything had decent flavor. The chile verde enchiladas had a lot of flavor the fajitas were not seasoned enough. The pozole was good and was filled with a lot of hominy and chicken and pork. I just wish the toppings came on the side so I could put as much as I wanted instead of it all being plopped on top and would have preferred the onions to be chopped instead of sliced. We got the watermelon margarita which they make with agave wine which was still good and had good flavor. They also have aguas frescas so I got the horchata which was good a bit on the sweeter side for me but good. Overall not a bad place to stop for a quick find.

Located on the exterior of the Marin Country Mart, to the left of Hog Island Oyster (or even closer…read moreleft of Le Marais), is Johnny Doughnuts. With its spacious seating, glass enclosed doughnut display, walk up wall menu on the exterior and its open concept register counter it is truly inviting. With a menu of unique flavors and those same flavor options beautifully displayed behind a glass window, we had to order a few to try. Flavors available were coffee cake, blueberry lime, lime poppyseed, vegan guava, and chocolate chip cronut - these five we ordered, Other flavors included brown butter glaze, strawberry, chocolate vanilla crème, raspberry jam, cinnamon glaze and sprinkles. Lemon blueberry was very lemon forward with subtle notes of blueberry. The doughnut itself was crusty and soft at the same time. We enjoyed the pairing and texture. The coffee cake was just that, a crusty soft dough with the crumbly topping of coffee cake goodness and all those spices too. The lime poppyseed was light, soft and airy with a citrusy zing of lime. It was the most refreshing of them all and this is coming from someone who is not a big fan of lime. The guava was like biting into the fruit, not too sweet on an airy, soft dough. The chocolate chip cronut was a flaky layered croissant like dough that tasted like a chocolate chip cookie with a decadent chocolate frosting. It was quite the pleasurable treat, our daughter loved it. The staff, compiled of two women at the front, were friendly with smiles. Our treats were packaged in a beautiful white and gold box, it looked elegant when presented to us. There is the availability of drinks to order like tea and coffees. We would most certainly return for me. I'm curious to see what other flavors and combinations Johnny Doughnuts presents to us.

This allowed me to get some different kinds I hadn't had or seen before. As usual the service was great plus going to the Marin Mart is always enjoyable experience. I enjoy going and checking out the turtles at the koi pond. I ordered Apple Fritter Cinnamon Roll French Toast Cake Blueberry Lime Cake Vanilla Old Fashioned Maple Old Fashioned While all tasted great my top 3 in order were the Apple Fritter, The amount of apple and cinnamon is perfect with the soft inside and glazed outside. Goes great with Coffee. My Second was the Blueberry Lime Cake, the combination of the 2 flavors makes for a nice treat, The chunks of blueberry makes it stand out. Third was the French Toast Cake, combination of the flavors made it taste like cinnamon french toast. As for donuts, this is my goto place !
