It is yet to boast a huge gateway similar to China Towns of large cities like London or Manchester, but you are sure to know when you are there. All signs are marked in Chinese characters: a driving school, hairdresser and doctors' surgery... and my new find: Bar Oriental Qi Lin Ke. The bar's interior is basic with plastic tablecloths, dotted with bottles of red, spicy sauce and soy sauce. My friend and I were the only European-looking diners alongside a group of Chinese teenagers and a family. The menu is vast and features dishes that you'd only find in a real Chinese restaurant, i.e. where Chinese people eat: black eggs, fried frogs' legs and duck tongue to name a few. My friend and I were pretty hungry so hedged our bets on dishes that we were sure would satisfy our appetite and fulfill our curiosity: seaweed salad, beef noddle soup, steamed prawn dumplings and a rice ball cooked in a bamboo leaf (all sounded way more adventurous in Spanish). All (well not quite, a doggy bag was requested) were washed down with TsingTao beer. Portions were plentiful and our feast came to just over €20.

The dim sum is pretty good, but ask for the spicy sauce. Fried rice was meh-noodles we're good, but a bit greasy( I like some grease, but it was swimming in it). Service was so so.

He went back to the hotel to sleep it off while I wandered around some more and had some very good tapas and wine. But I knew the only thing I could take back for him that he would eat was some sour and spicy Chinese soup. Looking at the previous Yelp reviews and rating for Dong hai, I confidently walked in and ordered 2 agripicante sopa's - muchos picante in my one day old Spanish. He enjoyed it so much and finished both bowls. Today he was better but wanted more of their soup, so we decided to go back for a proper dinner. As is usual in Spain, if you head for dinner at 8:30, it is more than likely that you will catch the staff having their own early dinner before business begins. However they were kind enough to interrupt their own meals to take care of us. Loved the dimsums, hubby had more soup and we tried their chicken chop suey (chicken and veggies, no noodles) and schezwan pork. We really enjoyed all the food. Vegetables were fresh, food freshly cooked, tender meat and well spiced. I'd have loved to try more Spanish food on our short trip, but given a sick mans food cravings for Chinese, I'm glad we discovered this wonderful place thanks to previous yelpers.
