Exemplary chocolaterie! 'Schiesser' is German for marksman. Absolutely unsurpassed location (in Basel at the market) for sweets, cookies, truffles and anything your wife could ask! Attention to detail, ingredients, seating, luxury, history (well beyond 140 years) make this one of 3 best makers of confectionary & chocolates in Basel; a must visit with tradition! Rebel review: 5+ stars

We were on a mission to try biberli somewhere in Bern. I really loved the look of this cafe. It's quite old with antique looking seating and decoration. There was plenty of seating upstairs and nice tables by the windows. The biberli was lovely! But I suppose it was just regular biberli. It's a gingerbread specialty usually in the shape of a tart, but the ones we tried were little biberli bites! They make me feel like Christmas on a cold day. The people were friendly and the service was nice. We had a waitress take our drink orders but we went up to the front to order the actual treats.

Nice place to take a break from walking around town. Sit and have a cup of tea while you people watch. Directly across from town hall.

I first visited one of their stores in Zurich, on guess where? Bahnhofstraße, of course. Clearly the company knows what travelers want for their journey. This store is very similar to that one in setup. But no matter how much you spend here, it never seems enough when the chocolate is gone. And now four weeks after my visit to this store, I'm lamenting my short sightedness. Yes, they're that delicious! Incredible really. According to the company... "Lindt & Sprungli is America's #1 premium chocolate company. Lindt & Spugli is a premium Swiss chocolate company, who is famous for producing the Lindor Chocolate, the tasty chocolate with a hard shell, and a creamy, and smooth chocolate center. Lindt & Spugli also is known for making their popular hollow chocolate bunnies, which are available during Easter."

Definitely felt the joy of a kid in a candy shop - this place is a feast for the eyes! Hard to decide/restrain myself on what to buy, so we opted to try one of their specialty truffles. The chocolate was smooth with nice infused flavor, definitely a specialty experience. Price point is a bit higher to match the quality and specialty of the shop.

It's very cool to watch the many steps some of their creations go through. I finally got to try Cremeschnitte. It's a yummy little dessert with layers of cream and pastry. I think as a joke they make the top a hard jelly layer so it's impossible to cut without smashing the whole thing to pieces. Oh well, it still tastes lovely. Anyway, the people working here were nice and the desserts were yummy. It's just a typical cafe but the thing on the TV was pretty awesome. I guess it makes me feel less guilty paying so much for small candies, the're all hand made with tender love and care, after all. Dieses Cafe ist hertzig und modern.
