I originally had a great experience at Confident Smiles and even left a very positive review. The hygienists and clinical staff who worked on our teeth were always kind, patient, and professional, and I still appreciate the care they provided. However, after a few more visits, my experience with the administrative and billing side of the office changed my opinion. My son's temporary crown came off a couple of times, which required repeat visits. Everyone remained friendly, but it was still inconvenient. The bigger issue for me happened during my own appointment. I had already paid my portion in advance, and the remaining balance was supposed to be billed to my insurance. I stopped at the desk just to double-check that I didn't owe anything before leaving, and was told they "never know if or what insurance will pay." That immediately raised questions for me because I've never heard that before, and I've never had issues with my insurance not paying. When I asked for clarification, I was met with rude, dismissive responses and passive remarks that made it sound like my insurance might not cover anything. She acted annoyed that I even asked questions after her comments. When I stepped out of the office I realized I had forgotten something and walked back in to retrieve it, two staff members were visibly laughing, clearly about the situation and my questions. That was extremely unprofessional and honestly hurtful. I left feeling very disrespected. I want to be clear that I'm not taking anything away from the hygienists or dental staff, they were wonderful. But overall, the experience was so disappointing. There are too many dentists out there to tolerate being treated disrespectfully, especially when the questions I asked were legitimate. This whole situation could have been handled in a completely different way, and we all could have gone on with our day feeling professionally satisfied. read more

Wasted many weeks and near $2000.00 for a replacement denture only to visit today and found the denture they made did not even fit in my mouth! Totally incompetent operation. A gang of fools masquerading as medical staff! I have no denture and cannot eat properly. Now I face the gamble of trying yet a third dental group as this is the second St. Louis region dental operation that has screwed up my denture. Affordable Dentures was the other criminal operation I tried first. What is the problem with dentists in this region. Low grades, low abilities, low work morals? Second thought, Ill return to my Tucson home and have a replacement made there. Sorry I tried any dentist around St. Louis! Guess these rip off operations are used to getting away with incompetent in this region. read more
