I was driving 2 hrs from the other side of the state to take her since she doesn't have a car on campus and could accommodate that request. Then the day of, I'm about an hour out of Muncie and the stylist texts asking to change the appointment to a different day because her other job needed her to come in early. When my daughter tells her that this the only day she has available because she doesn't have a ride other than me and I was driving 2 hrs to get there, she said she can't do it and no other stylist was available. So disappointing and not a good look for this business. We scheduled a week in advance and were willing to accommodate the request to move the time up. This appointment that was set should have been honored before a second job.

I'm not used to a cut for less than $25. Anyway, I think I spook stylists into giving me less-than-stellar cuts. I mean, I'm the son of a stylist and grew up in salons. I walk in asking for a razor cut, blended, with heft off the top and crown and clean lines without clippers, etc. I'm a PICKY person when it comes to hair. Anyway, my haircut was better than I got at Sport Clips but nowhere near the level of excellence I get at Strange Beauty Show in Chicago. My razor cut was done on dry hair, and I had to ask for a mirror to check the back. I was surprised because the stylist I was assigned has trained at Bumble sessions in New York City. Anyway, if I lived in Celina, I might continue to work with the stylist. But living in Lima, I'm going to stick with my Chicago salon.

I had a brief wait. As for the services I received? The color I ended up with just looked like I did an all over color and accidentally missed spots, rather than the multicolor look I was going for. It looked nothing even remotely like the inspo photos. And then she proceeded to butcher my hair when I had basically wanted some shaping/cleaning up and then styled it like I was 70. And there was dye all over my hairline and on my ears when I left. I was in such shock I couldn't even say anything. I paid and left. Immediately, I went somewhere else and they fixed the cut as best as they could and cleaned the dye off. They wanted to know who did my hair but I couldn't bring myself to tell them. But, why am I trying to protect someone who did a bad job? I've had better cuts from Great Clips. And I can do a better job my self with coloring my hair. Do I recommend this place? As you all can imagine, this led to her to start losing her hair. It was a very emotionally difficult moment for her. I called Impressions and spoke with Tammy who usually does my moms hair. She was more than happy to cut and shave the remainder of my moms hair. She got a room in the back so she can have privacy and she gave my mom a lot of moral support. I remember my mom coming home actually smiling after this. She told me that Tammy was very kind to her and that at one point Tammy brought out a very blonde wig and made her laugh... she couldn't explain the joke all that well to me but what matters is that she got my mom out of a serious funk during her cancer treatment. Impressions Is not just a great place to do your hair, but is filled with incredibly wonderful people. Steven is as great as ever and there are few people that I trust to tell them to do whatever they want - and he is one of them. I always love the cut and style and he really listens to what I am looking for and how much work I'm willing to put in (or not) in terms of keeping up with my hair.
