On our last morning we arrived for breakfast and it couldn't' have been better. The dining room was small and warm, filled with people on their way to church or meeting to catch up. They have a full breakfast menu of eggs, pancakes and the like. I had two eggs over easy --perfectly done -- with oatmeal bread toast -- their own, of course -- and a side of some of the best corned beef hash I've ever had. Not too salty, it had been flattened and fried on the skillet before serving so it had a crusty browned exterior and creamy beefy interior. Wonderful. The service was also perfect: attentive but not intrusive. We had heard that their donuts were excellent, but they had already run out...the only disappointment, but a reason to return. What I saw was a team that seamlessly worked together to make their customers feel seen and appreciated. It was like I watched an interpretive dance. If the bartender needed (for whatever reason) to step away from the bar, another employee filled her place. I even saw one employee asking the current bartender to teach her how to make a certain drink. I had the cheese curds, and they were so good that I asked for a to-go so I could share it with my family. Someone from the kitchen brought out my order. I said, "Please tell the chef that these are so good that they could be addictive." He smiled and said, "Thank you. I'm the chef." What I learned is that if I have a few sips of beer left in my glass, that's the time to let my server that I want another and perhaps the check (if that's the case).

With that we ordered 25 pastel colored, decorated, cupcakes for a baby shower. We received nothing like the display cupcakes. They were very thinly frosted, with zero piping or decoration and the pastel coloring difficult to detect. They looked like a kid's first attempt.
