Good Dogs and Fries!!
Thomas T.

A hot dog is a hot dog- but at least these are good hot dogs-I've had bad. I emphasised the fries in this shot because they are GOOOOOD! Old fashioned (classic?) cottage-cut fries made fresh with no "coating", "seasoning", "batter"or artificial crisper chemicals. A good place for lunch.

Enter Waka Dog! When we walked in the door, I was getting the vibe that the decor had not changed in many years. From the classic Vienna hotdogs posters to the random hand drawn signs, I was getting excited because I had a sense it didn't even matter what the decor was because the food must be so good this place will NEVER shut down! Lol! But then I discovered the secret sauce. The lady that waited on us was one of the kindest humans I met! It was almost like she was family, and she was gonna make sure we were taken care of! Her service was amazing and she made sure our cups were full the whole time. Now to the food... I'm a sucker for a good old Maxwell Street style Polish sausage and they NAILED IT! No frills or remixing required...sausage, mustard, onions, sport peppers! Perfection! Not to mention the fries, which were a dark horse favorite. All in all, it was the perfect spot to feel at home before we headed home! Will definitely be back! Hopefully they wouldn't have changed a thing!

My story: When I was visiting Vancouver, Canada, there was a street vendor who served "Japanese hot dogs". They were quite scrumptious, and I was jealous that the city residents could have these fancy dogs anytime they pleased. I am jelly no more. While touring the Wellfield Botanical Gardens during their special "Tulips and Tunes" festival, the Wiener Shack made their presence known. I stopped by their booth to grab a drink (a bottle of Boylan birch beer), and decided to return. Upon coming back, I tried the "Vortex". Ahh, the Vortex. What a fantastic adventure of a hot dog. Take a delightfully seasoned hot dog, add Sargento's provolone cheese, grilled onions, a dash of some raspberry something-or-other sauce, and pack it all into... a glazed twist doughnut. I know what you're thinking: WTF. Well, I guarantee you that it was most delicious. Also, the guy and lady who was running the stand were very friendly and helped me with recommendations. And I can't believe that this is right here in Goshen. I WILL be checking out their storefront sometime.
