The front office was nice as well as the nurse who took me back. I forget her name, but I do remember she said she was polish, anyways she was amazing and kind and happy. I absolutely loved her. Then I met Dr. Vakkas and was totally cool and down to earth and just explained to me what the procedure was going to consist of. I felt at ease and comfortable. *The day of surgery. My daughter so happened to wake up with a swollen face I took her in with me so that Dr. Vakkas could give me some insight on her cheek and see if it had anything to do with her teeth. (mind you, she didn't have an Appt and I was just wanting some professional insight) He was more than happy to check her. He never once said "I'm on a time crunch, make an appointment" for that I'm beyond grateful. So thank you Dr. Vakkas you could've easily said "no" but you didn't. Lastly, my nurses Ashton and Maria were amazing. Ashton was super cool and helpful and was my initial nurse and Maria was the one to recover me after. Both amazing and I have left with such a great experience. I am now 3 days post op and I feel amazing. I have not taken my medication once. I am not in any type of pain. I feel sore, but no pain. I really thought I would be out and not able to do much. However, I feel amazing and I didn't even get swollen. My husband said " the Dr. did a great job, is why" and I couldn't agree more with him. Dr. Vakkas I can't thank you enough for being awesome and having a great team by your side. Cali Fam thanks you. God Bless You.

On Tuesday I scheduled an emergency appt by phone for Thursday and provided my insurance information since I hadn't visited since prior to 2020. Wednesday, I get a call saying my dental plan insurance is showing up as medical when they attempt to verify it. (This is a plan listed on Smilebuilderz website as covered. My card says "Dental Card" on it and the ID number is different than my medical card.) I re-supply the insurance info to the person on the phone and they tell me, "If you don't hear back, you're good to go for Thursday." I didn't hear back. Thursday comes around and I show up 15 minutes before my appointment. I took the time off from a job I just started to deal with this dental emergency. I end up sitting in the waiting room for 50 minutes before informing staff I needed to get back to work. In a last ditch effort to be seen, I provided an alternative insurance which if used, would charge me the monthly premium since it was currently inactive. This second insurance, I called while in office, ended up requiring me to add Smilebuilderz as my primary dental and then told me it could take hours for the confirmation fax to be sent. So, I get home and call my insurance; they call Smilebuilderz and we get my dental plan set up, according to Molly or Margaret (?). Immediately after this was remedied, I get a call from scheduling and set up a second appointment for Saturday in Ephrata, a 40 mile round-trip away. I arrive on Saturday annnnd the insurance I had set up with the insurance agent and Smilebuilderz rep on the phone Thursday around 10:30 AM had NOT been set up and my only option was a credit card self-pay then self-bill my insurance afterwards. I now have to wait until the end of next week to get into a different company's urgent dental because it's a holiday weekend and can't request time off until Tuesday. Also, Anita, the manager in Ephrata, when asked if there is someone above her, said there is no one. I googled while on the phone with her and asked for Anthony's number so she gave me the main line really fast w/ no extension.

Upon seeing my tooth I was told it needed to be removed surgically, and that I should have general anesthesia because it could require a lot of drilling and the root could break off. After finding out they mishandled my paperwork and going a week of hearing nothing about scheduling a consultation with their surgery team, a friend recommended I try Conestoga. I called Conestoga on a Wednesday, had a consultation with an oral surgeon for my tooth the next day, and the tooth was out the following Wednesday. The kicker? The oral surgeon (super guy) gave me local anesthesia and had the tooth out in 60 seconds...no broken root, no pain at all. My experience was great from the first person I spoke to on the phone, to the dental techs, to the surgeon. I recommend calling Conestoga for any major dental work.

While my son and I waited in the room for the doctor to come in, it was quiet, as most medical offices are....when all of a sudden in the hallway we hear a conversation between Dr. Sudbrink and another person during which he used the "F word" several times. The first few times I just sat there, then I just stood up and poked my head out into the hall and said "Uh, my son is in here." At this time, I had no idea who is who in this place. I turned back into the room to go sit down and I heard him say to me "Well, you don't have to listen, this is my office." So I replied with a question "Yeah, so don't you think you should be more professional than this?" He went on and told his co-workers that I was "eavesdropping on his conversation". Let's be clear, there was no overhead music or any other noise for that matter, like I said.... it's a doctor's office so the fact that he was not trying to be quiet during his rant about how his office isn't making enough money or how there are too many dentists around or how people don't understand the difference between oral surgeons and dentists isn't my fault, the only person to blame here is Dr. Sudbrink.

It's about 25 miles away but worth it to be covered for oral surgery. When I went to Dr Stender's office for the initial consultation the staff was very nice. During the consult, the doctor and his assistant were cheerful. I felt like I was with friends. Dr explained the procedure in detail but in layman's terms. His receptionist told me the approximate copay which was within a few dollars of the actual amount. I left confident that what seemed like a major thing- crown lengthening (bone shaving), was a minor operation. It turned out to be routine and minor oral surgery. In fact, I drove myself to and from the office on the day of the surgery. Dr Stender skillfully applied local anesthesia. It didn't hurt when he inserted any of the needles nor when he did the surgery. I was only there for about 45 minutes from parking my car to heading back home. I had no pain afterwards and I did apply a cold pack for the first couple of hours per instructions. I never took any pain meds and returned a week later to have stitches removed. I had no discomfort or complications. I highly recommend Dr Stender and his associates. He always used my preferred nickname which is more than I can say for some of my co-workers :-) if you're looking for excellent service from competent and personable professionals look no further.

Both my husband and myself found him to be condescending. Because I would not agree to having dental implants I think that Dr. Scott was not happy with me. He did not offer me any alternatives. I showed up for my cleaning twice a year and dr. Scott checked me each and every time after my hygienist finished with my cleaning. At my last appointment I was disappointed to see that my hygienist have left and I had a new one who proceeded to tell me that I needed all kinds of periodontal work to the sum of a great deal of money. It seemed odd seeing this had never been recommended before and I didn't really feel that this problem had just suddenly cropped up. Dr Scott blamed it on my old hygienist insinuating that she didn't do a good job which didn't make any sense to me seeing he looked in my mouth and checked me and said everything was fine after every cleaning. It would be more professional to be accountable , if I indeed had a problem, because after all, he was supervising my treatment .I went to another dentist for a second opinion and was told that the dental work that dr. Smith recommended was not needed which brings up the question of his being ethical. Find another dentist..this guy has issues.
