Jessica went out of her way this morning to help us find a mechanic who could assist with a last-minute brake issue. Thank you, Jessica, and thank you, Rick Watkins, for helping us over the Thanksgiving weekend. Jessica even caravanned with us all the way to the shop and introduced us to the guys at Watkins Repair. I don't think they have a formal storefront, but their last-minute service was truly above and beyond--and the quality of their work was excellent. I couldn't be more thankful or grateful; everyone in this town has been wonderful. The motel itself was clean and comfortable. I wish I knew what mattress was in our room because it was the best sleep of my life! We stayed there Sept 9 2025. Motel room is well maintained and very clean. Only downside is that shower is very small A handheld shower head would help make it easier to use. Overall, I would stay there again when in the area. Owner is very pleasant. read more

They are the rudest people who run it. They hardly ever work or make themselves available by phone. They keep banking hours which must be nice when running a hotel. The rooms smell and only get a surface cleaning when you check out. Over the past 15 yrs I have stayed there many weeks for work and the service and business has just gotten worse over time. I no longer stay there and prefer the Condon Hotel when stay in town. read more

Vicky is amazing. I knew I was going to end up near Condon but that I probably wouldn't arrive until after 1AM. And I was concerned that finding a motel with an attendant still awake was going to be tough. So I called Vicky, explained my situation and she said she'd leave a key waiting for me. I roll in closer to 2AM and the key is where I expected, the room is immaculately clean, this is nearly perfect. I had to leave earlier than the office was open but that gave me a chance to return the favor. Room key and $60 cash in the nightstand drawer and I was off. I was sad that I didn't get to thank Vicky in person and I would have loved to have stayed longer but the Condon Motel gives you an idea what a difference somebody who cares can actually make. My son stayed at the Condon Motel for two months while he was on a job in the area. The manager (Ronda) treated him so well and went over and above what most hotels do. I loved motels. I love being able to park in front of my door and just the overall feel of places like this. It's cute, clean, and the price is right. I loved having a beer or 3 in front of our room and watching the sunset over the sweetass grain silos. There's food in town a short walk away. Stay here, it was awesome. read more

Every year a large group of us goes on a "Rod Run" in Eastern Oregon and we alternate between staying in Baker City and Condon. This year it was Condon and once again the group stayed at the Condon Motel. There were 22 of us in 13 hot rods converge on the hotel and take ver most of the Motel. There is no restaurant lounge or lounge but it is located a short walk from places to eat, drink and buy groceries. They are on the "motorcycle cruises" map and cater to groups like our whether on bike or in old cars. The owner, Vicki, is friendly and willing to take the time to answer questions about the area. She keeps books in the lobby to loan out and kept extra ice on hand for our margaritas. You won't mistake this for a luxury hotel but the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable and the rates are very inexpensive. If you pay cash you get a small discount - they take off the bill what they would have to pay the credit card company. read more

Highly recommend staying here. The owner/operator Cheryl went above and beyond to help me coordinate my car club's accommodations. Besides booking her entire motel she found us two more houses to rent in the area for extra rooms...including her own! Which she then graciously allowed us to hold a club BBQ there our last night. Great little motel for an even better price. We were on a long road trip to central Oregon and wanted a place to hang for the night. We were immediately greeted with a warm smile from the owner of the hotel. She gave us some recommendations of where to eat, and even gave us some tour information for our trip south. The room was nice and clean with a refrigerator and microwave oven. The shower was ok, but after a long drive it really didn't matter the condition of the shower. As we settled in, we sat outside and watched the deer roam the streets. If you are looking for a slow paced town with a reasonable place to stay give the Condon Motel a shot. A friend and I enjoyed 3 nights at the Condon Motel during Memorial Day weekend. We found the room to be immaculately clean and appreciated the free wireless, refrigerator, and microwave. They were full up, but we enjoyed peace and quiet all 3 nights. I had good communication with them by email and phone prior to the trip while arranging reservations. This is a great small town hotel. Wireless (but not strong signal), clean rooms, microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator. Nothing fancy, mind you, but cozy with comfortable beds. Nice staff, very easy to work with and give good advice. They take dogs and cater to hunters and fishers (like me), but they do have "no dog" rooms for those concerned about that. I've been staying there 1 or 2 times a year the past 4 years. It's getting busier and busier -- construction crews for wind towers during the week, hunters and fishermen on weekends, etc. Good thing for the business, but good to get reservations in early just in case. And, of course, this has resulted in modestly increased price -- not gouging at all, but certainly more than in a town where there's competition. read more

My partner and I came home to broken pipes and a busted fridge so to the motel we went. The service was excellent and the staff is extremely friendly. Clean and comfortable bed with plenty of room. Large TV and several utility outlets. Late check-out was not a problem! We will definitely not hesitate to return shall we need to in the future. read more

This is a fantastic motel in a small town. Don't let the word "motel" steer you away. I've travel quite a bit and this is one of the best (if not THE best) motels I have stayed in. We stayed at this motel when we visited the Painted Hills, one of the 7 wonders of Oregon! Our room had air conditioning/heat, free wi-fi, 2 queen beds (beds and pillows were comfy), a flat screen TV, a mini fridge, a coffee maker with cream/sugar/cups/stirrer, and microwave oven. A small table and 2 chairs sat on the side of the room. The bathroom was small but was clean and decent. There was definitely plenty of room for 2 adults, 2 children, and our dog. We made our reservation last minute and was able to get a pet-friendly room. You get a cheaper rate if you pay by cash, but they also took Visa. Cheryl (sp?) was very nice and friendly when making the reservation and when checking in. I highly recommend. read more

My husband and I drove out to Condon to scope out bicycle routes. We arrived with no reservations which from what I understand one can do on the weekend. According to the owner/manager the motel fills up during the week with wind turbine workers. Our room was clean and check in was very pleasant. Very quiet. Our room was $56 with cash. It will cost a tiny bit more if you use a credit card. The only small complaint I have is the water pressure in the shower is low. I should have mentioned this to the owner, but did not. read more

We reserved 4 rooms for 4 couples, and made the reservation 6 weeks in advance. The motel sent us an email confirmation for all 4 rooms. When we left that morning, we called just to let them know that we were the folks with 4 rooms reserved, and that we were on our way--they said ok. When we arrived at 8:00 pm, they said we only had 2 rooms reserved--despite our email confirmation that said 4. The receptionist looked into "the record" and confirmed that we had originally reserved 4 rooms, and that they were confirmed. She said the record showed that several weeks later, the owner deleted one of the rooms, and another week later the owner deleted another room. Apparently a company wanted several rooms for their employees that were working in the area. They were staying all week, whereas we were only staying 1 night. We were able to get a 3rd room because they had a cancellation, but we were left at 8:30pm trying to find another room. Fortunately we located one, but it was 40 minutes away. While it's totally unethical to cancel rooms because you get a longer term reservation, i get that a small business needs to maximize their revenue. What is incredibly wrong is that they didn't bother to notify us! it would have been easier to locate a room in the area 3 weeks before our stay, instead of that night! So be forewarned, a reservation with this place is meaningless--you may show up and have no room. read more

Let's face it...if you're staying in Condon and you didn't bring your RV, there are only two choices: The Hotel Condon or the Condon Motel. I've stayed in The Hotel Condon and absolutely loved it the first time, but since it was taken over by new owners a few years ago, it seemed a bit disappointing for the price. So, this time I tried the Condon Motel in order to make my trip more economical. I'll start out with my positive comments and get to the stuff that really bugged me. The room was absolutely clean, except for some spots on the carpet and a cobweb on the ceiling. The bathroom was spotless, and as was the inside of the microwave and the refrigerator. My room (102) was equipped with wireless internet, a microwave, a refrigerator (that was already cold). Of course, parking is free in Condon and you're within a 5-minute walking distance to all the town has to offer. The furniture was mismatched, but completely adequate. The decor was somewhat tacky and the bedspread was just hideous, but an attempt at decorating had been made. There was also an upholstered chair that was pretty dingy, but not gross. The bed and the pillows were completely uncomfortable! The mattress and box springs creaked whenever I would change positions -- which was often because I just couldn't get comfortable. The pillows were very flat and I wished I had brought pillows from home. The shower was absolutely impossible. I have never been in a shower stall as cramped as this one and the shower nozzle was very low flow. I literally had no elbow room and could only raise my elbows if I turned diagonally. I'm only 5'8", so can only imagine how a tall person would manage. The worst part of the experience? At my height, when I turned my back to the shower, the shower handle (which extended out about 3") hit me right in my butt crack! Honestly, I've had an easier time showering in our tiny RV shower. Then, I went to dry my hair, but the bathroom only had a single outlet that wouldn't accommodate the larger GFI plug. The only other outlet that I could access without moving a lot of furniture was behind a side chair in the bedroom. Thankfully, the chair had a mirror placed above it on the wall, but unfortunately, my hair dryer cord wasn't long enough for me to stand up while using it, so I had to sit down in the chair, which made me too short to see the mirror. It was a technical difficulty, to say the least! The worst thing about the Motel, in my opinion, was the fact that the motel had a "no smoking" policy, but the towels and the linens smelled as if they were laundered in a tobacco factory! I sensed a lingering smell of cigarettes during the evening, but when I took a shower in the morning and used the towels, the smell of stale cigarettes was overwhelming!!!! Yuck! It reminded me of the ashtray smell that I detected at the front desk when I checked in. The motel operators were obviously heavy smokers. All in all... if you want to stay at the Condon Motel in order to be safe and have your needs met... it's the place for you. If you expect a certain level of comfort, you might think again. You basically have to choose between the lesser of two evils... the Hotel Condon (which is overpriced and hyped up), or the Condon Motel (which is decent, but not exactly home).... either way, you will have stayed in Condon, which is a worthy destination. Hopefully, your reason for being in this amazing town will overshadow your need for comfort. We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend with our car club, a large group of 22 cars. Cheryl was fantastic and made it all work out for us. The set-up of the motel is really nice, with two rows of rooms across the street from each other. The rooms are very clean and the beds very comfortable. There are tables and chairs outside in front of the rooms, which was perfect for our group to sit outside and chat in the evenings. This is one of the nicest motels I have stayed at and I would highly recommend it if you're looking for accommodations in the area! I give it 4 stars, mostly for value and cleanliness. It's not fancy! Concrete cinder block construction. There are interesting admonitions in the room to not clean your birds (think hunting season) in the shower or there will be an addtional cleaning charge! And not to use the top of the microwave as a cutting board! The room is equiped with both a toilet plunger AND a fly swatter, so you know this is a classy joint! Honestly, the owners are nice folks and provide a clean, simple room at a reasonable rate. Meets my simple needs nicely. read more

What a great place to stay!!! The rooms are all comfy and cozy and suprisingly clean! Will highly recommend to others. Can't wait to return another time in the spring! Our stay was not planned- My wife and I were broken down and stuck during a snowstorm and a good samaritan broght us to the motel. The VERY friendly managers fed us dinner since we were stranded. We think this is the best place to stay in Condon. The rates extremely reasonable as well. read more
