Frank, the owner deploys manipulative sales tactic, left a bad taste in my mouth. Paid the deposit, Frank says the desk will be there in a couple days, mentioned we would be there the following Saturday (about 7 days), and he assured me it'd definitely arrive by then. Organized to have the van that morning to pick up the desk, but the furniture was not there, staff said we could take the floor model (which was all scratched up). Said our furniture would arrive by 3:00pm. On route to return the van, we got calls, back to back to back, never heard from him again. read more

This review is based on my experience with the amazing sales associate we dealt with, Whitney, and on our sofa purchased at Condo Sized Furniture. Sofa Feedback: We ordered and received a sofa that was custom tailored to our requests. We purchased the Jake, 80" and requested the back be 2" higher than the floor model, different colour stained legs than shown, no buttons on the seat and custom matching pillows to our specs (one for each end) and got exactly that. It will take 8 weeks, possibly more, so mentally prepare yourself, as 8 weeks felt much longer than we thought it would but it was worth it. It looks great, is comfortable and feels like a quality piece. Whitney Feedback: Ok, if you are looking to hire an amazing sales or customer service rep, then you know how hard it is to find someone good. I mean genuinely GOOD. Good at their job. Good with people and genuinely CARES about all aspects of their role. That's Whitney. If you are shopping for furniture, deal with Whitney every step of the way. If you're looking to hire a new employee that involves sales or customer service in any capacity or industry (not just retail or furniture), find out when she will be in the store, stop by and I guarantee within minutes of interacting with her, you will be mentally working on a plan as to how you might be able to steal her away. There should be a 0 star option. Agree with all the other reviews. This store tries to pass off mass-produced furniture as boutique-like, and at inflated prices. Then they will "make you a deal" which is apparently so good you are getting "the loaf for the price of a slice". I am so glad we googled the chairs we were interested in, because they came up at a variety of other stores for significantly less than the "great deal" price, including Sears! and in a wider range of materials and colours. On top of that: a) they rarely have items in-store for you to see, they seem to run a catalogue-type business out of a store-front. b) selection is limited c) they have overall poor business admin. skills! I recently bought the Gustav couch and I am pleased with the high quality of the product. It fits my space perfectly and the product is amazing! I also received great service in store and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The store seemed appealing at first glance because as a new customer, Frank and Yvonne gave excellent service and the store did have some nice pieces. After I purchased two items, and had them delivered, one item was damaged and it was a nightmare dealing with Frank and Yvonne from that point on. It was such a bad experience that I would not recommend this store to anyone. If you do like any of their pieces I guarantee they are available at other furniture stores in Toronto, and probably for cheaper. We were looking for a custom bed came across condo size, Yvonne was amazing ! She knew exactly what i wanted and made it happen. The day of the delivery i was in love with the bed, but after couple of hours i noticed there were some glitches. I was very unhappy and worried, i contacted condo size discussed the issue with Frank who came by to see the glitches in person. They took the bed back fixed it within couple of days !!! My building elevator schedule was full at delivery date, they help me to figured out, and delivery on time. We ordered a hard maple bed frame with drawers from Condo Size, with a stain that matched the floor model. The bed construction is top notch, I could tell in store it was quality but upon delivery and getting to handle each piece, I could see that every piece is hard maple.. Often times some pieces are and some are cheaper wood. Everything was exactly as promised and the stain was on point. Originally we dealt with Whitney and I can't speak highly enough of her, she's one of the more pleasant sales staff we have come across as we've been furnishing our new home. Frank was in store as we completed the order and mentioned that he puts the beds together himself when they are delivered.. We got the bed delivered today and sure enough, Frank was there. Frank being involved in the delivery for me, was the part about this hole transaction that stood out. He was really careful ensuring that his delivery guys didn't damage anything in regards to the bed or our property, and getting this behemoth of a bed up three sets of stairs and tight corners while not even scuffing a wall was not easy. He also put the bed together himself. Night and day from the many other companies who use third part delivery (delivering on behalf of many different stores) who often don't really care to do things right and respect your property. read more

I recently bought a custom sofa through Whitney! she is super sweet and lovely to deal with it took me about 5 minutes to pick everything I wanted and the couch was delivered exactly to my custom choices. she was extremely knowledgeable about the products, which made me feel very comfortable in my decision to purchase. I live in a small condo and needed something that didn't have large, curvy arms and could be customized in size. I was able to customize size, fabric, legs, plushness of cushions, it was exactly what I wanted. they even delivered the couch when I wasn't home. Frank was amazing, he did not make one scratch on the wall and when I got home from work the couch was unpacked and was in perfect condition. and my security guard even commented on how nice my couch is. it was slightly delayed in time frame but that's ok because it's perfect and it was such a pleasure working with Whitney (and Frank)! I am a business owner, having gone in there with my work clothes in ( construction clothes ), I walked out of Condo Size fuming mad. They were sold a light to my client at a ridiculous markup and lying to her about where and what it is. Having gone in there to pay for a broken part to be ordered, I was forced to be felt that I could not afford their products. The products that are bought there are represented as much better quality or better brand as they really are. The owner Joanna will not answer any questions that may help you decide if you are buying of quality brands or not. Went there last week because I saw a few furniture pieces that I liked on their website. Unfortunately they did not have them in the tiny store. What they did have in the store seemed quite dated. They advertise condo-sized furniture, not true; they were just regular sized furniture! Their prices were also ridiculously high and I wouldn't say that if the quality and workmanship of the furniture justify the high prices. This store, I would say is "pretentious high-end". I guess just being on Queen St. W means you can overprice even the chintzy stuff and fool people into splurging on crap. Pulled on a few drawers, they were not smooth and had to really push to close them. Not impressed. If you want quality modern furniture at premium prices, I suggest you go to stores like Casalife, don't bother with this place; waste of time. My wife and I have purchased a custom bed with memory foam mattress, bedding & linens, and custom window coverings over the past 2 years. We have always been pleased with their professional, courteous, and attentive service. When we oomplained about a minor problem with the bed, they immediately resolved it with a home visit the following day. This kind of service is rare nowadays. As a result, we went back and bought a condo-size dining table and chairs. Their quality is great and the pricing is very reasonable. Despite the reviews, I had great service on the floor and with delivery. They accommodated my delivery to make sure I had a sofa to sit on. They came quick and efficiently. Love the variety of sofas and happy with the product I got. It was delivered in 2 weeks (probably had the sofa in stock) but can't complain. My experience with Condo Size was actually quite different from the other reviews here. I was moving into a new space, with a fairly limited budget. The sales staff and owners spent a lot of time with me picking out furniture (I had a piece custom made as well) and made sure I was comfortable with the price range. Once I had everything picked out, they kindly arranged to deliver everything that was available asap because I had an empty apartment, and then delivered the rest when it was ready. We discovered this store just walking around Queen West. The furniture is nice and great for smaller spaces. Small space with very few employees. We were serviced quickly and efficiently. We purchased a couch bed. Spoke with Frank the owner who can really talk a lot and has game until the going gets tough. He won't admit he's the owner. It seems Yvonne knows a lot more than him. He depends on her and passes the buck. He'll sell you the item and then he's completely hands off when there's a problem. He passes the blame for the issues and never acknowledges that they are in the wrong. The initial purchase was smooth until it was time to deliver. They talk so much instead of just getting you the item that was ordered. They are EXTREMELY bad at following up. Don't answer their phone. Give excuses such as "we had no information therefore there was no point in calling." When given suggestions on how to improve they make excuses saying "we have too many customers to be able to do that." After a lot of back and forth by email as phone calls were not being answered, we went into the store. My significant other tore a piece into them. We finally received our couch. There was another couch he liked so we decided to purchase that. Hoped the experience would be better this time now that we settled the first purchase. They gave us a good deal and couch is nice. Again no luck. Email after email we finally called. They advised him that their email has been down and to confirm delivery for second couch by calling and at least 3 days in advance. Again, a business that depends on email and hardly ever answers their phone, this is unacceptable. We've been trying to call and to no avail. Can't firm up a delivery date because they are not answering their phone. This is getting very frustrating!! read more
