The Bakehouse Art Complex helped forge Wynwood's reputation into what it is today here's an example of how -- The Flapjack Fiesta was an interactive event designed to feed the local appetite for fine art, philanthropy, and... breakfast. Short stacks and syrup were just a taste offered by one of the most progressive non-profits had in store for enthusiasts. Adults enjoyed the best of brunch including bottomless mimosas, while rubbing elbows with emerging and established virtuosos just steps from their studios. Kids and kids-at-heart had the option to decorate their own pancakes or craft a more permanent memento, and everyone was welcome to test their face-stuffing skills in the Pancake Eating Contest. Afterwards Bakehouse Art Complex invited all to stay for the Wynwood Green and Art Market. The monthly fair provides the community with an influx of fresh produce and spreads the reach of homegrown art far and wide. The inaugural Pancake Party is poised to become a homegrown tradition but also benefit homegrown artists.
