We contacted Gerry and his team to do some landscaping and concrete work for us last summer and we had a wonderful experience. Not only were they very courteous and professional but they were very flexible with our schedules. We have dogs and so us being home was somewhat necessary during their work. He was flexible working around other contactors who were doing fence work at the same time too which was above and beyond our expectations. The work was done on time and as originally quoted without any add-ons or changes. Stone workmanship and color matching of cement was spot on. Our yard is still beautiful 6 months later with a well laid out sprinkler system. We are beyond happy with his service and will use him again for any project. read more

We have dealt with Gerry and wanted to make sure if you are hiring him look for these red flags. Looking at some other reviews looks like he has a pattern. 1. He kept saying 'You trust me?'.. DO NOT TRUST HIM. 2. Emotional manipulation for building trust - He will bring you family/kids and his boys in conversation to get money. 3. Will keep asking for money in every conversation. 4. Will not accept Credit Card so there is no legal way to get it back. His reasoning 'I am old school' 5. After concrete pour he will not show up 6. After you pay him enough money he will text you 'I am done with you' 7. He kept saying I want to help and said I will do retaining walls, fountains etc etc in the same price when we told him 'just do the work we agreed upon.. This is where we knew he is a "pathological lier" We also made mistake 1. Paid him money in advance because he kepts asking for it and misled us. 2. DId not update our contract and trusted this guy He left the job in between. We had to get new quote and it is costing us more money. Concrete looks old and there is no polish. LIFE IS GOING TO CATCH UP WITH THIS GUY VERY SOON read more

These guys pride themselves on their super quick service, so much so that they're out on the 101 tailgating, squeezing in between cars and weaving in and out of lanes. read more

Concrete Solutions - a white pickup truck driving down the road - Landscaping Near Me - San Jose, California

I received four quotes to install a slab for a backyard shed and chose to contract with Gerry at Concrete Solutions who provided the best combination of price and scheduling, and I'm sure glad I did. Gerry and his team were able to start the job within a couple of weeks and complete the job on schedule and at the agreed price. It took them only three days to prep the ground, build the forms and pour the concrete. The slab turned out great. The contractor who built the shed commented on the quality of the slab being a primary reason he wanted the job. Gerry and his crew were professional and focused on doing the job to my satisfaction. I had a great experience with Concrete Solutions and highly recommend them. read more

Want to agree with other poster Nadav K. Gerry (Geronimo Hernandez) was very personable at the beginning and had a reasonably competitive price, and by far the best sales pitch. Gerry was very smooth, and asked for money in advance, and even though we had an agreement of certain $ amount per stage, I too made the mistake of paying too much in advance. "You trust me?" was his line, and I made a mistake; as the progress up to then had been on schedule. Once he had enough money; he persuaded me to pay directly two sub-contractors and a materials supplier, things went down-hill. After the concrete pour, he started not showing up, or showing up once a week for a couple of hours, and a 2 week job turned into 2 months. Some of the work performed was sub-standard, looking more like a bad homeowner DIY job and had to be redone. Unfortunately he re-used some materials and the finished results are not what I paid for nor expected, and don't look good. One part of the work I paid for twice. I bought the necessary materials, even though those specific materials were part of the job. I don't believe I ever would have gotten it completed otherwise. Eventually he stopped showing up, "We're done!" I can't recommend him read more

Here's my first ever Yelp review! Getting straight to the point, I have to say our experience hiring Gerry from Concrete Solutions was an absolutely positive one for us! Our job was in the backyard. We wanted a 16' pad and a new walkway that would connect my new pad to my detached garage, continue to the rear door of my house & driveway, plus wrap around my house to tie into my existing walkway near our side gate. About 9 yards of cement total, all done in a brushed finish. I had 6 bids to compare between so why did we decide on Concrete Solutions? Gerry won us over by listening to what we wanted, providing some great ideas to deal with our existing slope/fall issues, he communicates clearly and he is very personable. BTW he worked under a contract and payment schedule without any deviation. The cement work came out perfect! Gerry was there the entire time making sure everything was correct. He kept constant communication with his guys and checking everywhere with his level over and over again. We're extremely pleased with their work and we would use them again without hesitation! read more

We first contacted Gerry for a small concrete job around our pool. After getting the quote and talking with him for a little while, I asked him his opinions on our full front and back yard landscaping project. He was very professional, honest and affordable and provided us with reasonable quotes and assessments. Before long, we hired him to do our entire landscaping job which included a pavers walkway and patio, sod installation, drip system, tree removal, and unexpectedly, a new fence to replace ours that had begun to rot. He exceeded our expectations! He and his team are so friendly, so professional and flexible. Gerry met us to pick out pavers, consulted with us anytime we had questions and even let my 3 year old son "help." We wholeheartedly recommend him and will be using him for any future projects! read more

We hired Gerry to do some concrete work for our front yard. Gerry came and made some suggestions on what would be best and was able to meet all our needs. He also put a new gate in that we are very happy with as well. I just had some ankle surgery and Gerry was able to make the construction site safe for me to get around. read more

We've now used Gerry aka Concrete Solutions for a second time. His first job for us was a 18 x 14 pad for a pergola and a 30' path. This time he removed our porch so we could have some foundation work completed. Came back a week later and poured and matched the texture to our existing walkway. Did a better job than the contractor. My wife no longer gives me side eye based on how well Gerry and his crew poured the porch. He has done other work in our neighborhood. Not one complaint. I would highly recommend his company. read more

Gerry has done a ton of work for us over the last several years. All the work has been done professionally and with care by Gerry and his crew. We have had him redo part of our driveway, add a parking pad on the side yard, build two new pergolas as well as a folding redwood gate, completely tear out our backyard and add stamped concrete walkways and a patio. Just recently Gerry has done a front slate stonework and redo our front porch and entryway with a stamped concrete matching the rear. Gerry's bids are prompt and better than other contractors who have stopped by. I would not hesitate to with Gerry on any of our concrete or remodel needs. read more

Great Job!! I highly recommend this company. Had a patio done and came out beautiful. Everyone that we dealt with Neal, Michael & Matt who works for company are very professional, helpful and friendly... Definitely would use them again ! And price was great. Thank you ! read more

DO NOT HIRE Concrete solutions for any job. Gerry (Geronimo Hernandez) seems to be very nice at the beginning and had a very compatative price. Gerry was very kind and asked for money in advance, even though we had an agreement of certain amount per stages. I made the mistake and paid him too much in advance. Once he had "enough money" he started dragging his fit, and "extorting" us for more money for material so he can finish the job. Long story short....Gerry never finished the job, and ran away with the money. Another thing to pay attention to is his contractor license (#812047). Gerry keeps his card and uses it although it has expired. After I fell in his trap, I started searching online and found the following review (http://www.merchantcircle.com/business/Concrete.Solutions.408-836-2413) which is IDENTICAL to me...seems like there is a scam going on here. Please spread the word. Seems like Gerry renewed his license...go to CSLB site and review his history before hiring him!!! My wife and I were planning our engagement party to be held in the backyard of our house. The house is a fixer upper (1939) and so is the backyard. We had been preparing the yard decided that we needed to fill in an area of dirt with concrete in order for it to be safe for our guests (the area was a tripping hazard). We hired Concrete Solutions to do the job. Gerry was extremely professional and very kind. He transformed a giant dangerous dirt-pit into a new area/walkway/patio for us to use literally 48 hours before the event! We were VERY impressed with his work and attention to detail. The walkway now flows seamlessly into the patio area of our backyard and we no longer have to worry about guest tripping and falling. The engagement party was a success! Thank you Gerry and Concrete Solutions! read more

I have used Gerry now for a couple of my jobs and he's done a great job. I've read the negative reviews and I have to say that fortunately, that was not the case for my situation. The quality of his work was great and used top rated materials. He was prompt and completed our concrete work on time. I compared prices with 3 other concrete guys and he gave me the best price. I would definitely recommend Gerry and will use him again in the future read more

Gerry, did a great job on my garage floor retrofit. Should have used him for the whole driveway. If other customers are having issues with subs they should read a book on how to manage sub-contractors. read more

Hired Gerry to pour our driveway and stamp the concrete to match the back yard. What a great job they did, very attentive to our needs and done in a timely fashion. The pricing was also right, I had contacted a few others, some would not even look at it because the project was too small for them. Great Job read more

The crew came back for a service appointment and did a wonderful job to repump a spot that sank over winter. They can be depended on not only for the business but for after sales service. Would use them again if needed! read more

I am not sure what happened to the other folks that have reviewed jerry but my experience with him was nothing like the other 3 reviews have described. Jerry has done a couple of jobs for us and his work has come out just what we expected. His prices are very competitive and always finished the jobs on time and as we agreed. He never asked for too much money up front but just enough to pay his crew. Again, this is my experience and would recommend his services but if somebody is concerned about the money part, just pay him a little bit at a time and go and see some of his previous work. I am sure he can give some references. read more

DON'T DO IT!!!! I wished I had checked the reviews first. Exactly the same mo as with Nadav k and Eden. Will be nice in the beginning, then the problems starts, pressures for money , tried to get me to pay some other contractors for the concrete, doesn't even do the stamp agreed to. Came out horrible. Im filing papers for court since he believes it looks great. I had 3 contractors come out and see what can be down- nothing. One chuckled, one thought I had tried to stamp it myself. All agree he doesn't know what he is doing. Ill update with what the court says and who redoes the work. Stay away from Gerry- youve been warned. read more

I found Gerry on Craigslist while blanketing calls to contractors. Gerry called me back right away, and since he was in the area he stopped by and gave me a quote within a hour of my call. The quote was good and I gave him the job. Gerry's communication always let me know what was happening and when I would see him next. He and his crew were prompt, polite, and most importantly did a brilliant job on our courtyard patio. I was very pleased in getting the job done within two weeks (exceeding expectations). Also important, Gerry was on site for every phase of the job. I can recommend Gerry and Concrete Solutions to anyone needing high quality patio concrete and stone work. read more
